CORUSCANT

The air in the Aurelian Vault was thick with the scent of expensive spice and the hushed, desperate deals of Coruscant's deep underworld. Hidden beneath layers of Imperial bureaucracy, the lounge served as a sanctuary for the Core’s corporate vortex that defined the galaxy that everyone is living in. Kesh Hevro sat in a velvet-lined alcove, his posture a stark, hard-edged contrast to the sprawling decadence around him. The observation deck was shielded from the acidic drizzle of the upper atmosphere, but the view remained bleak. The Hellions’ Captain watched the data-streams on the his data-pad; records of megacorporate bloc voting and clandestine subsidies that had long paralyzed galactic sovereign states ability to govern.

The Captain's hand remained steady as he palmed a credit-chip; payment for a data-shard containing the locations of some of the Core megacorporations executives’ safe houses, promised by an associate with friends in low places. This has always been his modus operandi; two-footed involvement, navigating the chaos with precision, three steps ahead of everyone else.

Kesh did not reach for the crystalline glass of amber liquid sitting untouched on the table; his discipline was a precision instrument in an environment that thrived on indulgence. As the silhouette of the broker finally darkened the entrance to the alcove, Kesh closed his data-pad, prepared to secure what others too afraid to take.

Two shadows followed Malcoma down the hallway. Her natural one hugged her tightly as if hiding from the harsh overhead florescent light. The other, a man is a deep black suit, strode further behind her, but just by a few feet.

Yet another faction was preparing to invade Coruscant it would seem. The writing was on the proverbial wall. Any semblance of safety that the Galactic Alliance had brought to the Deep Core had been cast off by the Dark Empire like they had been stripping away the planet's very magnetosphere. Life could barely function here anymore. Coruscant's core might as well stop spinning.

Mal sucked her teeth in annoyance.

She couldn't help but think now what she had periodically been crossing her mind for the last week while she had been compiling the data that she now carried in her purse:

Judah wouldn't approve of what she was about to do.

She finally came to the alcove that had been chosen as a meeting spot between herself and one Kesh Hevro. The Pyke already sat in the booth.

"Kesh," she greeted, voice smooth but not warm. The quality was forced but wouldn't sound like it; she had decades of practices with this kind of acting.

CORUSCANT

Kesh’s eyes captured the two shadows relayed through the entrance. He quickly glanced at the man, assessing his stature and gesture, before shifting his focus towards the woman of the hour. It was his executive decision not to bring anyone else to the meeting, nor to Coruscant. He already stood out on his own, no need to add to the noises around the discomfort of Coruscant underworld.

Malcoma,” he stood up from his seat to greet his counterpart, his raspy, deep voice echoed across the sound-proof room private suite. He waits for the info-broker took her seat, while he checked his wrist for the notification beep that just popped out of his device. ATTEMPTED ASSASSINATION ON VREN ROOK, MANDALORIAN SHOCK TROOPERS SWEPT MOS ESPA, brightly displayed as he flagged the message for later.

War, everywhere. Someone has to act or it won’t end well,” the Pyke muttered, ironically highlighting the situation in which he and The Confederacy is making profits from by supplying most sides. “I heard from a certain someone that you might have the shortcut to pacify the calamity,” he lets the words hang in the air, as he slowly descended back to his preferred alcove.

Malcoma wove off her man. "Indeed," she agreed, or at least gave the impression of agreement.

She gave a snide smile when he made reference to her particular criminal talents. "You have the right friends," she replied before sauntering toward the table. Once she was close enough, she dragged her fingers over the edge, coming to stop near the furthest seat from him. "Or the wrong ones.

"When it comes to the spoils of war, most are content with specks, as long as they're somewhat shiny." Still standing, she placed her purse on the table. She looked back at him. "But not you. I respect that." She didn't glance down but began to unzip the purse.
