- Description: A creature that looks to be a cross between a chicken, a cat and a many fanged horror. The Abetrei appear first to be absolutely adorable, till you see the inside of their mouth that is hidden by all that fur.

- Distinctions: The size of a small humanoid the Abetrei at first glance appear to be every cute fanatic's ideal dream pet. However these things have the survivability of a cockroach, more teeth than a toothy sea beast and a tongue that can be used like a limb with a length twice as long as its body. The strength of it's jaws can crush duracrete, it's teeth can even crush it down and it's stomach can process hazards that would normally melt, suffocate, poison or otherwise destroy most living things. Its lungs can adapt to the majority of airborne contaminants as well as heat and lava? So long as there is a perch, molten rock can easily become it's new favorite molten soup.

- General behavior: Pretty docile in temperament, can get snarly around their food if one goes to take it away, but can be easily trained to not display this behavior. They can easily become pets, if socialized as a fledgling however it is only really affectionate to one person and may display certain preferential behaviors only to their chosen master. Depending on how much food is available they can and will produce offspring, providing their containment area is big enough for multiplication. They are not fond of strangers coming into their territory and this behavior can be trained out or trained further.
Highly social, these creatures do best either with frequent contact from their handler or given enough room to have offspring. If put in a waste bin on a ship, it can easily empty a full load of garbage within a day. The pellets it drops, much like a deer, can then be used as fuel for fire or ground down for use in compost or simply scattered across an area to be absorbed naturally. They like to keep their areas clean and are quite happy to drop their waste in a box or down a hole. They can use their tongues in place of an arm, this tongue can strangle as well as reach out and gently clasp. They are known to turn on their masters if neglected for long periods of time and can even turn feral.
If bred in a cold environment it can survive those extreme temperatures, however gradual introduction to a hot environment can acclimatize it to those new set of extremes. It is not advisable to take a creature adapted to cold to a hot place or vice versa without a period of slow introduction else the subject will perish.
Because of the likeliness of dangerous rejects, Vanestris Labs created this creature to be able to devour pretty much anything. Metals however are about the only thing that this creature can't sink their teeth into, but if in small enough chunks, even that gets destroyed by their stomachs. The fact it was highly social and trainable was a plus and it soon became a staple product for the business. All manner of failed experiments were fed and all manner of different environments were tested and except for submersion in acids, lava or other substances of like kind, the creature performed admirably. The ease in which it can reproduce paired with the likelihood that this little horror could become a pet, meant it was worthy for sale.
