NAME: Abe Dougsel
FACTION: Independent
RANK: Mountain Man
SPECIES: Human
AGE:
57
VOICE: Landon Ricketts (Red Dead Redemption)
SEX:
Male
HEIGHT: 6"3

WEIGHT: 236 pounds

EYES: Brownish-black eyes

HAIR: Gray

SKIN: Caucasian
FORCE SENSITIVE: No.

STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES (Required: 2 Weaknesses Minimum) :
[+] Sharpshooter
During his time in the army of the New Imperial Order, Dougsel showed a natural prowess with long-range blasters, and became a sniper in the Imperial Army, becoming a decorated soldier and a champion of the Empire, quickly rising up the ranks. If only he wasn't left for dead all those years ago...

[+] Cartographer
Due to his curiosity with exploring the galaxy, Abe will often make detailed maps of places he has visited. This can come in handy if a team member, or even himself, is lost. They can look to his maps, and almost immediately know where to go on their journey.
[+] Survivalist

Abe's life far from civilization has taught him how to survive out in the unforgiving wilderness. Abe can effectively hunt and skin animals, harvest food, light fires, and all other skills essential to surviving out in the wild.
[+/-] Explorers Spirit
Despite being 57, Abe has the sense of adventure and curiosity of his environment of a man 30 years his junior.
This allows him to thoroughly explore an area, and can play into his other strength, Cartographer, allowing him to create detailed maps of whole sectors of planets. This can come in very handy when a team member is unfamiliar with an area. However, this can also cause him to inadvertently stumble into dangerous situations, and be none the wiser.
[-] Unsociable

All of Abe's time spent alone on the frontier, far away from civilization of any kind, has made him not exactly a social butterfly. Funny, because he used to have a reputation in his unit for being very outgoing and quick to crack a joke, earning him the nick-name "Chatterbox." However, those who have earned Abe's trust will find that he is more like the young man of the past on the inside. Maybe he doesn't socialize because socializing reminds him of his old life somehow...
[-] Sands of Time
Abe's memory is still as sharp as when he was a young man, kept in shape by all the locations and survival techniques that he must remember. But his body is slowly deteriorating, at a slower rate than most humans because of his military training, but still deteriorating nonetheless. Abe is far less fast than he was even 3 years ago, and his hands sometimes shake when he is hunting, forcing him to prop his rifle on a log or some other object to keep it steady.
APPEARANCE:
An old man, his hair mostly gray with some of the strands of hair their original black color. A large nose, it's bridge crossing from the middle of his cheeks to up between his eyes, his nostrils wide and almost squished in appearance. His face is rounded, and long, his cheeks sunken into his face, a symptom of his body adjusting to so many different planet's climates. He sports a large beard, gray with a hint of black hair, a reminder of when he was a young man, and gray, messy hair, often covered by the large Gus crowned hat he wears on his head. He wears a large, tan colored coat that hangs down to his legs, held up by a bulky leather belt with a silver buckle on it. He wears chaps made out of the fur of a Tauntaun, and black boots. Abe also wears gloves made out of buckskin. Abe also wears a blue neckerchief at times, often when he goes into cities for hunting supplies, to make himself look more "presentable." He is of average build, somewhat stocky due to all the animal meat he eats on a daily basis.
BIOGRAPHY:
Abe Dougsel was born on the Imperial world Bastion in the year 807 ABY. Dougsel had a largely uneventful childhood, and joined the Imperial Academy at age 19 like most young men raised on Imperial worlds did. During his time at the Academy, Dougsel showed extreme proficiency with long-range weapons, and was praised by the leader of his class, Yevasi Metraguli, and was given his personal recommendation that he would be a sniper once he got into the army. After completing his training, he joined the 567th Assault Battalion as a sharpshooter. He quickly developed an almost brotherly bond with his squad-mates, a bond that was strengthened by the many battles the unit took place in during the Second Imperial Civil War. What was also strengthened were Abe's already exceptional skills with a sniper-rifle, and his survival skills as well, as his unit was often had spotty communication or even no contact with HQ as they fought on many remote worlds on the edge of Imperial territory, and had to fend for themselves for days, or even weeks at a time. Then, the day finally came. The day that the young man had been waiting for for so many years. The assault on Ketaris, the stronghold world held by the defectors. Dougsel does not remember much of the specifics of the battle, but he does remember one thing: While setting up position on a ridge to cover for his unit, the ridge was suddenly rocked by an explosion, what caused it Abe does not remember as well, but it knocked him unconsious. When he awoke, he could not move his legs, and feared the worst. Luckily, his legs had not been blown off, and he had been momentarily paralyzed. Sounds of gunfire and explosions sounded all around him, and he never forgot what his unit captain, Tex said to him: "Chatterbox! We're pinned down! We can't get to you, but we will come back for you, I promise!" and Abe fell unconscious yet again. When he awoke, he was unsure of how much time had passed, but he assumed it had been a few days, as his unit had moved on without him. They had packed up their camp and left him. Abe luckily noticed a passing Imperial transport, and yelled for help. Two soldiers heard him, and carried him aboard, where a medical team was able to fix his legs. They took him back to an Imperial encampment, and said they would link up with Abe's unit again in a week. But Abe had no interest in such a thing. He had been unconscious for days, at the mercy of the local wildlife and possibly even the enemy if they found him, and his unit never returned. They had forgotten him, and left him for dead. Abe Dougsel, stumbling to his feet off of the medical bed he laid across, stowed away on an Imperial ship transferring troops off of Ketaris and to a far more safe Imperial controlled world.

Abe redeemed his credits for his service, a courtesy given to all Imperial soldiers once they returned home, and used them to buy a ship at a local scrap yard, a Mykal-Class Courier which he would later name "Bear Claw". Abe would bounce from Imperial world to Imperial world, job-to-job for the next several years. One day while melting down scrap at a junkyard, he decided enough was enough, and decided he would leave his current life behind. The work he had done for the past several years had done nothing besides give him enough money to barely afford sleeping in his ship, an aching body, and part of his spirit gone. Abe decided to break the cycle before he was completely gone, and left Imperial space, striking out on his own into the chaotic galaxy. The Empire had nothing for him. The only direction in his life was forward.
