The A-XX 300 Shiftdrive is designed to allow a ship equipped with it to make a shift from hyperspace to Otherspace, making an improvement on an older Aurora-made model.
Strengths:
- Allows a ship to make a controlled shift to Otherspace
- Does not require constant repairs when jumps are made
- When not making a jump to Otherspace, can act as a Class 3 hyperdrive
- When activated for an Otherspace jump, the system disables all weapons and sensors for ten minutes
- If sabotaged or damaged, and the ship tries to make a jump, the ship will explode
