A wretched hive of scum and villainy - Republic Dominion of Terrijo

Description: Terrijo is a world of vast, luscious jungle only broken up by the occasional rise of stony mountain peaks and five massive oceans. Thousands of species of wildlife live in these jungles, from the obnoxious but vibrantly colored Del bird in the upper canopies, to the packs of predatory Gurrcats on the jungle's floor. But while it is a beautiful world, it has also been described as "a wretched hive of scum and villainy" by the few outsiders who've traveled there recently, regardless if they've encountered the corrupt Gessbenna Corp executives who sponsor the Bloodcrest pirates, or the xenophobic and theocratic Raydu Council who rules over the continent of Binior.

Terrijo's internal problems are quickly starting to become their neighbor's, the Galactic Republic.

Suggested Objectives:

1. Eliminate the Bloodcrest pirates and their corporate backers

The Bloodcrest pirates make frequent incursions into Republic space from Gessbenna City, notably attacking an aid convoy recently sent to Cyrillia just after it joined the Republic. While there is no solid intelligence about their size, they are known to have a special affinity for using Marauder Corvettes and Cutter-class Interceptors in quick slashing attacks against heavy forces before running to hide in local terrain in ambushes. Rather than fight a protracted campaign against the group, Republic high command has decided to wipe them and their supporters out in one decisive battle.

2. Aid Binior revolutionaries attempting to overthrow the Raydu Council

The Raydu Council, an distant successor to the xenophobic Pius Dea, has ruled over the continent of Binior for thousands of years. While they have survived past coups and uprising, new contacts with outside traders and contacts with pro-democracy politicians has started an extensive underground movement to remove theocratic rulers and form a new government. Nor could it come at a moment too soon for the Republic. Eager to please some of their more populist supporters, the Raydu Council has openly talked about buying starships from outsiders to continue their holy crusades against all aliens. Since peaceful negotiations have failed with the Council in the past, Republic high command has opted to aid the revoluntaries in overthrowing the Raydu Council in a coup.

3. Explore and survive Terrijo

Not much is known about Terrijo to the outsiders, and there are entire unexplored continents, such as Sulia, in part because of the dense jungle canopy which thwarts sensor scanning, and in part because the wildlife of Terrijo is highly dangerous. There are several rumors circulating about these so-called "dark continents", including that Sulia houses a major shadowport, that should be investigated.

I was on the ground in a small encampment on the continent of Binor meeting with the rebels military leadership. The aliens were grateful to have assistance from myself and my fellow Republic soldiers. Commander Reese was determined to remain with the leadership and help them with the overall campaign against the Raydu Council across the continent, he left myself and several other soldiers in command of small Republic Strike Teams assisting larger groups of Rebels. I had under my command SABER Squadron, a unit of three Skocha tanks equipped with the new composite ArmaTech had fabricated, and this was being considered a field test for the equipment in addition to a planetary operation. Additionally I had Havoc and Hellraiser Squad under my command, good hard commandos ready to light up somebody. Assisted by almost sixty rebels and their various, poor quality equipment we would harry the city of Raydu by attacking supply caravans, mining facilities, and small military patrols. We would then rally with other forces to storm Raydu City itself, assuming everything went as planned.

I looked over my troops, sitting up out of the hatch of SABER One. "Alright, Papa Dragon on the comm. Let's get a move on and put a hurting on them Raydu's." I called over the short range channel. I heard lots of cheers go up from the assorted rebels and a few 'hell yeah's from my commandos. "Hulls forward, we'll start with setting ambushes along one of the secondary roads from seven hundred fifty meters. Infantry secure at two hundred meters and attack after SABER One and SABER two disable front and rear vehicles respectively." I called, a fairly basic trap that would allow the Skocha's to remain far from harm's way and still provide some support against any enemy escorts that might be floating around. The tanks began rolling out and the rebels gathered up to ride the vehicles in turns as we plowed away from the encampment.

The Ranger slipped out of hyperspace on the far side of the planet. He checked the sensors and found the location of the Republic fleet assets that were just arriving in system. He was hoping to arrive well ahead of the main forces so that he could be well on his way before they mucked up the system. He wasn't technically assigned to this mission, but his recent change from fleet to intel left him with lots of wiggle room on what exactly he felt like working on and what he didn't, It also left him a lot of room on who he worked with. He turned to [member="Anastasia Rade"] sitting in the copilots chair and smiled, when she heard that he was going to go exploring on a new planet for a shadowport she jumped at the chance to go with him. " Ana, We should check in with the fleet and let them know that we are going to be on the planet." He sighed, " I guess you should let them know that we are also free to help if anyone gets in a jam." He didn't really want to be a rescue team, but new planets are dangerous, and who knew what to expect.

He sat back in the chair and guided the ship towards it's intended target, the dense jungle continent of Sulia. Rumors had persisted that there was a shadowport hidden somewhere on the continent. Since his cover was that of a smuggler, he knew this was a prime place to go to get intel, he just needed to find it. Shadowports were just that, spaceports that were exclusively used by smugglers and pirates for the trade and movement of stolen or restricted goods. He knew that a place like that would have information of something that could prove useful to the Republic's effort to deal with one of the many problems he had heard mentioned at the briefing.

He has 'secured' a couple of LC-S10 speeder bikes from a friend of his on the promise that they were returned intact. He hoped that having those would help with exploring the continent and finding the shadowport. If nothing else, they could have one hell of a fun time.

Silence and anticipation. The all too familiar atmosphere before a battle. Even with many years of military experience under his belt, Jaccer could help but feel a cold chill travel down his spine as the countdown to the battle began. Some of the soldier prayed to their loved one and their religions, while others, like Jaccer, just sat and stared at the blank steel grey wall. Most of the men had experienced to much injustice and inhumane behaviour in their long careers of killing to still believe in a god or higher power. Those who didn't were envied by the other soldiers who could not find solace or tranquility in such beliefs. However, now was not the time to argue about religions and beliefs as in the coming moments all the men and women would have to work together to have any hope of pulling off the mission that lay ahead of them.

On paper the task was simple; infiltrate the cathedral ship, kill anyone and everyone inside an, obviously, make it out alive. As simple as it may of sounded, only a fool would believe that it would run so smoothly. Their targets, the Raydu Council, only had early blackpowder slugthrowers but these were still capable of ending any life that stood on the wrong end of one. Casualties were expected, although the there was no fear or panicking amongst the soldier. Instead, they awaited the time to begin the battle, some may say they were eager to start the inevitable slaughter. The task force chosen for this mission was chosen from some of the best soldiers the Galactic Republic Military had to offer and in the days before this mission the soldiers had be rigorously conditioned to be some of the perfect soldiers. Hours upon hours of training had readied them for this moment. It was their time to show their allies and their enemies who they were. They were the Zeta Task Force, unofficially dubbed “The Party Poopers”. And it was their time to shine.

Tension flooded from the room as orange warning lights flashed and sirens rang out, forcefully being pushed into the soldiers ears. This was it. Time for the drop. For a split second everybody on the ship became weightless as the transport was released from the carrier. But soon enough, gravity took back control and the task force was exposed to exceedingly high G-force as they neared the surface of the planet.

Since Orick's switch from military to intel Ana was able to see much more of him. The freedom of his new job allowed her the opportunity to go on missions with him. Now that she was spending more time on The Ranger Ana had taken the liberty to febreeze and dust the spare cabin for her own use. She had also filled his fridge and pantry with some food she had gotten from the market before they left. Beyond that Ana hadn't messed with any of his decor, she could live with the white sheets.

With a smile and a nod Ana spun her chair back to the controls and grabbed the comm. She had gotten used to being his co-pilot so calling the fleet had gotten less weird for her. Since they were not with the main fleet Command did not much more than acknowledge their presence. "Command this is the Ranger. We are headed planet side now. We will be available for assistance if need be. Over." "Thank you, If we need you we will be in contact." Since Orick was intel and Ana was a Mando there was no need for them to have to check in every five minutes to command on their progress. She was sure he would have to report on it later.

Placing the commlink back she spun back to face Orick. "Any ideas on where this shadowport could be located. I was looking through the holoweb but came up empty handed. My contacts though say they have heard one exists but that was just through conversation. They have never been." Ana trusted that the bounty hunters she had contacted would not give her the runaround.

The walls of the claustrophobic container were bathed in an eerie blue ghost light of sorts. He was the only source of illumination in the confines of his prison. His home...Home? What is home?....This...is not home...No...No, this is wrong. Something...is wrong...What is this? What am I?....#24601? Is that a name?...That's not a name...But then again, I don't know what is...Or do I?....

Out of the darkness, something large and cold clamped around his neck. As quickly as it had come and surprised him, it had gone and left a sort of neck brace around him. Thoughts that were not his own began to flood his mind the way that a dog might come down on livestock. Obey. It's time to wake up. Obey. It's time to defend your masters. Obey. You must follow orders and do what you were made to do. Obey. Kill the intruders. Obey. Obedience is well rewarded. Obey. Obey. Obey.

He couldn't think straight anymore. His subconscious bucked under the intrusion, but he had never experienced this before...or pretty much anything else, for that matter. He didn't want this. He didn't know WHAT he wanted, but it was not this. The wall in front of him fell open and he was temporarily blinded by the light. He could feel something strange and welcoming brush past him...a breeze.

Spinning an arrow on top of his raised index fingertip, Archer peered through his glasses to observe the Rebels around him. They bustled around, some dispensing weapons to rugged troops, others preparing scrap-heap vehicles for the coming assault. With the Republic now present to assist with the rebellion, the people of Binor had gone all out to fight the Raydu Council, calling on all the resources they could to aid their new allies against the common enemy. Of course they accepted the help with open arms, the leaders of this particular camp offering anything and everything to Archer in order for him to help them in return. He had refused, insisting he needed only his bow as per usual. Unlike most of other missions he took part in, this one was to be a straight up battle, infiltration would only be an option if the opportunity arose.

Bringing the spinning arrow to a stop and sliding it back in his quiver, Archer pushed himself from the wall on which he had been leaning against. From there he made his way towards the man who he had learned was the leader of this camp, greeting him with a quick nod.
"I'm going to head out, do some scouting. Have your men follow me when they're ready."
The rebel leader turned and nodded, too busy with organizing his men to stop and chat. All the better for Archer; he hated idle chatting. Breaking into a light run immediately, he set out North where he knew the one of the Raydu Council's outposts were, from which it was rumored that some of their army was being garrisoned. If the rebels could strike at them before they joined with the rest of the Council's forces, then surely victory would be secured, for the people of Binor and the Republic.

"They're not biting yet," noted Lieutenant Lod, "Are you sure we didn't come off as too strong?"

Gir turned his eyes from the bridge viewport of the Arendal to face the duros, "Hard to say. Getting just enough strength out there to both draw them out to take the bait and not be too weak to be overwhelmed by them is always a bit of balancing act."

The heavy cruiser continued to coast along the upper atmosphere of Terrijo, accompanied by a Metellos carrier frigate that deployed some of the troops to Binior, the Utopia-class corvette Kalidor, and a Ranger-class Light Corvette Marksman. It was not a large force, but there were other Republic starships nearby, waiting to micro-jump in once the pirates pounced. He turned his gaze back to the viewport, eying the vast jungles of Sulia beneath them. His mind wandered to the brief transmission from [member="Orick T'ane"] as he had taken the Aimless Ranger down to explore the continent. Gir guessed that it could be a daunting task just to find a rumored shadowport, nevermind to be accepted by its inhabitants. It's a good thing we have special forces backup on the Ranger corvette for all of the places where things could get out of hand...Lod's panicked voice broke his reverie.

"Sir, we have contacts, and they're closing on us fast. Three minutes out."

Gir frowned, "I don't see any in front of us..."

"They're shooting up from the atmosphere, they must have flown so close to the ground that we couldn't pick them up now."

"What's their strength?"

"Ah...a little over three dozen snubfighters sir, no transponders, but there are at least two squadrons of Cutter interceptors."

"That's them all right, put everyone to action stations," ordered Gir, "and launch our snubfighters. Any capital ship contacts yet?"

"No, but there's a lot of activity at the Gessbenna Spaceport," reported Lod, "it sounds like they're gearing up for a fight. There are unsubstantiated reports about a strange being spotted with some criminal enforcers groundside. It looks like they're going all out."

Gir nodded. Perhaps they've seen through our ruse. They know this isn't just going to be a random meeting of ships. They know we mean to wipe them out...we might have to move faster than I anticipated. The blonde man sighed.

"I guess it's to be expected, let's get some eyes on the ground there. Lod, get them to prep a special forces team on the Marksman ready. We may end up needing them sooner than I'd like..."

Imagine the guttural screech of a velociraptor. Now, add in nails-down-a-chalk-board, the echo of a Banshee from Mass Effect 3, and the acoustics of crackling electricity. #24601 displayed this verbal concoction loudly when he was prodded along by stinky and badly dressed men. Obey. Desist your screaming. His mouth abruptly closed and his head twitched to the side, making a small cracking sound. It didn't hurt so much when he followed orders. The pirates led him to a secluded spot located near their defensive line. It seemed that they wanted to keep him in reserve until the threat tried to land and take them with ground forces.

He waited patiently, uncaring about the words coming from the mouths of the pirates. He simply waited, either for deliverance or action.

Sitting with camouflage netting covering the hulls of the tanks wasn't bad. Their engines were cut off to decrease their passive signature so as to make them difficult to detect. At six hundred fifty meters range, rebel troops and Havoc squad laid, hunkered in a ditch. On the opposite side of the road Hellraiser squad and more rebels were strewn, and finally at fifteen hundred meters from my location sat SABER Two, all quiet and waiting. We didn't have to wait long before a small convoy of Raydu aligned tanks moved down the road, heading in the direction of the city. Too bad they wouldn't make it their. "Swap the power on boys, its about to get going." the power up sequence was quick and we would be ready to fire in no time. "Fire One," I said to the gunner, "Fire one," he called sending a massive shell out to the lead vehicle, causing it to go up in flames. SABER Two took a shot at the rear vehicle but the round glanced off the side, impact one hundred meters in front of our vehicle. "Dang it Two watch your trajectory. We're still out here, get your head out your ass. All go, all go." I called over the comm, urging my tanks forward as the enemy vehicles pulled to face my vehicle and reversed rapidly.

"Battle stations! Battle stations!"

The call incited a frenzy in the Arendal hangar-bay. Pilots rushed to their craft and the floor was cleared. Dazuto climbed the ladder into his Valiant. The chair still hadn't been broken in, but he made due. He strapped in, fired up the engine, and the starfighter rumbled to life.

"Ocean, prepped for takeoff," he said in reference to his callsign. The air in the cockpit grew thick as it pressurized for high-altitude flight.

"Ocean, you are clear for takeoff," the nameless voice responded.

His ship shook and whined as it repulsed from the hangar floor. Gently, he pressed it forward through the gate and into open air. He could feel the landing gear fold up below his seat. Starfighters swarmed around him and formed into their squadrons.

Some last minute checks confirmed that all was well. His armaments were set, concussion grenades loaded. Dazuto found where his squadron had organized and fell into formation.

"Attack positions," said the squadron leader.

With the flick of a switch, the s-foils of his ship folded down below him. Even at this altitude, he could feel the drag they created on his craft. Weapons hot.

Let's kick some ass.

Location: Flying low over the Sulia continent
Objective: Find the shadowport
Allies: [member="Anastasia Rade"]

He had the Ranger flying low over the dense jungles of Silia, he wasn't sure what he was looking for but he would know it when he found it. " Well, lets look at this logically. A shadowport needs to have access from the air, but limited access from the ground. The idea being that any armed force would need to come in from the air, it gives the port an advantage in that it only needs to defend against one type of attack. Only having to buy anti air defenses is a plus. I'm willing to bet that the port is run by a local crime boss, who doubles as the broker of goods." He thought about it for a moment before he continued. " The broker would hold all of the power in the port, he would be the guy that everyone sold their stolen goods to. He, or she, would have to have a legal connection to sell the goods somewhere else."

He slowly manouvered the ship along the coast of the continent, his bet of a shadow port location was somewhere that would allow ships to fly to it, that meant a way for the ships to fly under the canopy of the jungle. He was beginning to think of the specifics of what would work best for a shadowport. the things I would look for in a place that I would use as a port of call. He turned to [member="Anastasia Rade"] and smiled, she had become his default copilot by virtue of being with him almost all of the time now, not that he would ever argue. She had become invaluable in the last few weeks and he was beginning to rely on her so much that he wasn't sure he could be a solo pilot again. " Check the sensors for any break in the foliage density. If there's a port down there it'll have to have a bit less tree cover over it. It should also have a flight path into the port itself. It's down there somewhere, I just want a little more certainty before we spend the day cruising around on the speeders."

He toggled the weapons on systems and saw the power meters going into the green, He hoped he wouldn't need to use them, but this place was a pirate hive and he wasn't looking to get blown out of the sky when he had just sunk all of his money into fixing the Ranger.

All of the 100 soldiers inside the transport were now geared up and ready for the battle ahead of them. Eight more transports, also filled with a similar amount of men, would follow the first transport that Jaccer was aboard. Even with the flashing yellow lights and the continuous sirens, no soldier dare talk. They all seemed to begin mental preparations after they had finished their final equipment checks. While they rapidly approached their destination, Jaccer began another check of his equipment: Armour, check. Weapon, check. Explosives, check. Extra ammo, check. “ETA at location in 60 seconds.” The cold, robotic voice spoke out through the comm system in the transport. “59, 58, 57, 56, 55…” The voice began to countdown. Most of the men hadn't even heard the notification as they were in a trance, hoping to block out thoughts of what could happen to them in battle which would undoubtley start soon.

Wing mounted thrusters burnt the dirt ground as the transport ship came in to land. The blackened scorch marks were the first of a lot of collateral damage that would come. Only milliseconds after making contact with the ground, the bay doors opened. Light seeped into the darkened room, blinding the soldiers for a short amount of time as their eyes adjusted. There was no hesitation from the trained soldiers as they breached the wall of light an began there assault onto the ground that lay ahead of them. They would first work to secure and clear the area and from their they would set up a temporary camp before they started their main attack

One of the enemy tanks rounds glanced off the side of my vehicles hull, whistling off as it ricocheted off in the distance. The ceramic armor on the vehicle was scored and fractured, at least that tile. The armor consisted of hundreds of ten centimeter hexagon tiles hot pressed into a duranium plate, with a second layer shifted to cover the fault lines, leaving only tiny pin-points vulnerable. It was also sloped and rounded to promote glancing, just like what had happened. Millions of credits, thousands of man hours, and several generations of testing had resulted in the current test armor, being combat tested at that. Not the smartest thing, but the surest test of its abilities in the field. "Fire one, gunner." and a massive round accelerated away from the barrel, boring into the ground just in front of the enemy armor. "Saber two, left stick and come after them from the rear." I called over the comm-channel. I could see, almost fourteen hundred meters away the other tank swooped to the left and began accelerating at an angle to clear us from their fire lane.

The enemy vehicles poured fire from secondary guns into the waiting infantry, who were luckily concealed for the most part, but they were not without casualties. Havoc squad was trying to move them out of the way of the fight, but the rebels were untrained, undisciplined fighters, not professional soldiers and they were having difficulty with the concept of tactical redeployment. "Havoc, get the heck out of there, they ain't gonna roll past you and leave you alone." I ordered, but it wasn't going to be easy for them. "Saber three, drop one of em." Its cannon fired, burrowing into the armor of a second vehicle, leaving only four, aging vehicles left moving. "Keep the pressure on them, Saber two are we clear?"

Aqulia sat in her ship. Usually she arrived last and quickly boarded before joining her squadron and jumping in to do whatever was necessary. This time she was by herself and sitting on an asteroid.

This time the enemy were different and they needed different tactics. They were not up against the One Sith with capital ships and Vong technology. Rather they faced pirates – Bloodcrest pirates to be exact. There was talk of corporate backers too, but that was not on her pay grade.

So she sat here alone and waited. For sooner or later, the pirates would show themselves. And when they did, she would follow them back to their base of operations to identify its location.

The decoy had been set up – a ship that looked enticing enough to be attacked by the pirates. It was empty and on auto-pilot. Once it came under attack it would self-destruct. Her window of opportunity to follow them was small and…

On her screen the green blip of the decoy was moving slowly. It was rapidly joined by five small red dots. Aqulia disengaged from the asteroid and floated, waiting to start the engines the moment the pirates turned tail and headed for home.

Chaotic bursts of light rippled around the hull of the Arendal as Republic fighters and pirate starships weaved in and around the hulls of the little flotilla. Occasionally, one of the larger ships would get a burst of point-defense fire at the one of the pirate's ships or intercept a warhead aimed at their hulls. But the density of the starfighters around them kept the capital ship fire to a minimum. No-one accidentally wanted to hit one of their own ships. Pacing on the bridge of the Arendal, Gir blocked out the chaos of the battle mere meters away from him. He trusted the ship's captain, his crew, and his fellow soldiers of the Republic to at least hold their own against their counterparts without his influence, if not to beat them.

He had a mental conflict of his own to fight.

Sighing, he strolled over to his command chair and plopped down in it. They just couldn't make this simple....but I suppose the real world is always more gray and convoluted than academy scenarios made things out to be...if the pirates know we're here, we'll have to make sure that they can't get away by any means...We'll have to act quickly if we're really going to wipe them out now...it must be done. He cleared his throat.

"Helm, take the fleet into position over Gessbenna City. We're going to interdict any traffic going to and from the port. And hopefully get a foothold in the city as well."

"How high up sir?"

That gave the blonde man pause. The closer they were to the port, the better chance they'd have to intercept any starships that might try to sneak away by flying low to the ground. But doing so might bring them uncomfortably close to any defenses the city might have that they hadn't detected. But if our intel is right, and they're relying on the pirates to also protect the city, it probably can't be anything the Arendal can't handle...but perhaps not for our smaller corvettes. A missile battery might actually knock them out. They might be in a better position up high to escape that weapon's fire, and to intercept anything that slips past us...

"We'll be just over the city by a kilometer or two, but the rest of the fleet will be in a geosynchrous orbit at the edge of the atmosphere."

"Aye sir."

A little notification icon began to flash on his console's screen. The blonde man double-tapped it to reveal life-feed taken from several of the special forces troopers the Marksman had just sent to investigate the strange being reported at the star port. It was shaky, but Gir could make out a highly unusual humanoid looking figure that seemed somewhat translucent or glowing, through he couldn't tell for sure because of the low quality of the holo-feed. What is that? Those look like pirates next to him, judging by their clothing and the guns they're carrying...He glanced at the transmitter's hash tag before switching the frequency of his headset comlink.

"Desh Three, where are you at? And I don't mean grid coordinates."

"Ah, it appears to be a hangar facility of some sort. Our briefing said that the door in the background leads to a ship thought to be used by President Snuib..."

Snuib. Gir frowned. That name he knew. He was the CEO of Gessbenna Corp. While the corporation was known to be corrupt, it was thought that he was actually a reformer trying to clean up the place. Their presence here suggests two options. Snuib actually is corrupt and they're there to protect him or his get-away ship. Or Snuib's potentially about to be ambushed...perhaps even take as a hostage. Neither is really a good option...

"What are your orders sir?"

"Capture the criminals and take them into custody and secure the ship inside that hangar."

"What about the glowing one sir? He doesn't seem like the others..."

"I have no intelligence on that one. Take him into custody too. We can jail or release him after everything gets sorted out at the end of this mess."

"Yes sir."

The live feed went out, but Gir knew that the men would probably raising up their blasters set on stun to shoot the criminal enforcers and that strange figure, [member="Veldar Tor'Vaas"]. He quickly turned his mind back to the space battle as his console flashed that there were new contacts headed their way. So their marauder corvettes are finally making an appearance as we close in on their base...

"Ocean, you have one on your tail."

The voice fizzled amongst the sounds of the engine and a blaring chase-alarm.

"Yeah, I see him. Gonna try and shake him."

The pirate's starship was just a blip on his sensors, nothing more than a passing blur in his mirrors, but he was there all right. Red bolts passed just above Dazuto's fighter.

"Ocean, break left. I might be able to pick him," said an ally. Dazuto wasn't quite sure who or where his guardian was, but he didn't hesitate to make a hard turn mid-chase. It rattled the ship and pulled the breath from his lungs, but it worked. The Cutter zipped past him, followed closely by a fellow R-46.

"Many thanks."

He worked his ship back into the cloud of fighters, dodging fire and incoming ships. An enemy was closing in fast, pursued by another friendly. The scenario was a classic. The R46 broke off to avoid Dazuto's fire. Six times he squeezed the trigger, firing twelve bolts. It was hard to tell at those speeds, but Dazuto was sure at least four had found their target. The two ships passed each other in a flash, Dazuto's enemy leaving a trail of smoke behind him.

"Corvettes incoming," blared the squadron commander. "Repeat, corvettes incoming from the west. At least two. Marauder-class. Rally up for attack."

Six of the Valiants formed up and navigated through the dogfighting, Dazuto among them. They organized themselves into an attack party, zeroing on the incoming Marauder.

He stood there solemnly, waiting for whatever these captors would order him to do. His mood was broken from the sensation of something whacking him in the back. He felt a small amount of power surge over his body before being assimilated into his mass. He turned around to see a small cloud of gas waft above his head. He tried to see who it was shooting at him. His senses reached out by their own accord and he could see/sense multiple energy weapons and personal technology from the corners of the hangar.

Obey. Kill the intruders. The impact from the first shot was reminiscent to a slap in the face. He didn't like getting slapped in the face...or back. The pirates peeled off to deal with those who were flanking after they ordered #24601 to deal with the main frontal force at the mouth of the hangar. The pirates were either too trusting or desperate...maybe a little bit of both.

He did as he was told, though, for he did not like these people who attacked him. That, and the voice told him to. It hurt to disobey the voice. He ran forward and slid into cover. He could sense where all of them were, thanks to the electricity running through their gear. He started with the left side. He popped out of cover and shot those who were closest to him. Some of his bolts hit and some of them missed. Those that hit would surge across the personage of the enemy and cause them to go into a twitching conniption. Some of them missed because conductive surfaces would pull at the bolts path.

He neutralized 3 of them. Whether they were alive or dead, he didn't know. All that mattered was that they stopped shooting him. Of course, as soon as he had popped out, it didn't take long for a volley of bolts to slam into his personage. Because of the nature of their ammunition, the bolts would simply slap his body with tolerable, if annoying and sore, force, like a paintball gun. The bolts were simply energy-infused tibanna gas. If they were using the higher grade, the impact would have been greater, but he would be gaining more energy from said shots.

He took cover once more. He could feel someone coming up on his position. He reached out and latched onto the energy signature of the man's gun and peeked around the corner. Doing so, the man quickly raised his gun to fire at his exposed head. #24601 quickly yanked the energy out of the gun and into his body, causing the gun to spark and quit. The man confusedly kept trying to pull the trigger. A shocking bolt arced out and sent him running back the way he came.

Under direct fire, he knew he couldn't stand for long. So, he stayed behind cover while they took defensive positions farther back and tried to snipe him. If they came close, he would send out a shock them or short out their gun. The pirates mercilessly took on the small amount of scattered flanking troops who had expected to meet up with their own forces.

She paused to think for a moment as he spoke wondering what her best way of going in there was. Her armor would say that she wasn't one to tangle with while a dress would probably gather attention. If there were bounty hunters here though she could rely on her brothers and sisters to help her out. They were not here to shoot everyone up or at least she didn't believe they were. It wouldn't exactly help them gather Intel.

Glancing down to the sensors she checked to see what was up ahead. "There is a big break about twenty miles straight ahead. I'm guessing that's what we are looking for. We should go a little further but I wouldn't get too much closer. It would be better to park the Ranger away from this port. I'll also admit cruising around on speeders all day in the jungle sounds really fun." The main thing though was that if things went south she didn't want his ship getting blown up.

"Do we have a plan going in? Chat these pirates up and see what we can get out of them? I was thinking of going in wearing my armor. What do you think? I want to gather as much Intel as I can." Ana valued her partner in Intel gathering's opinion. They were a team.

A few more seconds ticked by before a response came over the comm from Saber Two, "Yes Master Chief, Fire One." The commander of Saber Two said, a massive round burrowing through a third enemy tank, causing it to detonate in a particularly impressive explosion. Saber Two had pulled far enough to their left to fire on the enemy tanks without fear of cross fire into us, and had opened up their main cannon through an enemy vessel in short order. The two remaining enemy vehicles turned hard while reversing, trying to turn far enough to cover both my advancing tanks and Saber Two with their side armor rather than leaving Saber Two to fire at their exposed rears. The enemy vehicles now outnumbered and out gunned began acts of desperation.

They responded to Saber Two with secondary weapons, slugs and blaster bolts tinging and glancing off the heavy duty ceramic plates built into the armor, having little or no effect due to their relatively small size. One tank fired on Saber Two, its slug pinging off the armor, the penetrator round shattered from the fractured, yet still functional tile. Its core having been snapped in half by the sudden change in direction when the brittle ceramic broke jaggedly. "Saber Three, fire on my mark." I called hoping to core the next vehicle with a tandem round before they pelted it with a tank round. "Fire one," I called to both gunners. My gunner was a fraction of a second faster, sending the two part bolt into the side armor, leaving a large scored area for the anti-tank round to pierce through, just as it did, leaving a smoking hole in the armor of the vehicle. "Saber two, engage at will." Were the last orders I gave, the massive gun of the Skocha terminating the final tank as a slug from the enemy vessel, ricocheted off the turret, whistling into the sky.
