Maiev let out a chuckle at Jonyna’s response, suspecting the Jedi Master liked a bit of a challenge. And without further prompting, the Cathar leapt off the platform. The wookiees’ bewildered reactions had the witch biting on her cheek to stop herself laughing. Knowing full well what was about to follow…

As Maiev mimicked Jonyna, with a short run and jump off the platform.

She could hear their panicked noises, but they quickly deafened as the witch fell. Maiev began chanting an incantation, smiling the whole time. Green energy began to form around her hands, building in intensity until the very last moment before the witch disappeared in a green flash.

Maiev wouldn’t call herself a pilot, nor did she have a pair of wings, but she always enjoyed what she called ‘Dathomiri Flying’. She could never fully explain the feeling, other than it being something of a jarring experience for anyone else tagging along. Especially the whole ‘appearing to pop in and out of reality’.

For Maiev, everything around her was a murky haze, devoid of colour and just general shapes as she flew by. Kashyyyk was the perfect location, not having to constantly be mindful of where she’d need to re-emerge.

The witch caught sight of Jonyna below, swinging from tree to tree. With a mischievous thought in mind, Maiev lowered her angle of flight. She made sure her flightpath was uninterrupted as she suddenly reappeared close by.

Slowpoke!” She teased, before disappearing in another green flash.

Jonyna was less swinging, and more using the trees as a highway. Footpads slid across slick branches, Jonyna often jumping from one branch to another with a mid-air twirl, as a show of pure athletic grace. It wasn't often she got to, but she didn't seem to care about the race.

She was having fun. The art of movement mastered, and Jonyna was Da Vinci. Then the witch found her, and Jonyna smirked, suddenly erupting with flame as she sped up, still keeping that bit of artistic style to her movement, clearly having more interest in how she got there than getting there.

"You need to have style! Getting there is half the fun!"

You might be right, but I prefer efficiency over style-” Maiev replied, though whatever words were to follow swiftly died on her lips. A wave of dark energy struck the witch mid-flight, interrupting her teleporting.

For several moments Maiev was tumbling down from a great height. Her senses returned to her almost at the last moment. The witch snapshot teleported, landing on the ground with a solid thud.

Maiev let out an audible curse.

Forget I said anything,” she muttered, slowly pushing back up onto her feet. “Can you feel that?

In the direction they were heading, a dark energy was pulsing out in waves. It felt both malicious, and hungry.

The sudden burst of energy knocked Jonyna off her branch, but unlike the witch, she was quick to adjust. The air under her seemed to harden under her, catching her as she tumbled slowly down to the ground, rolling on solid air like a staircase, rather than a tumble.

Soon, she joined the witch, shaking off the feeling. "Yep. And I don't think it wants us here. Good thing I came prepared." She growled, hand gripping at her katana, Liz.
