Ossus was one of the oldest sites of the Jedi Order in the Galaxy, since it was reconquered by the Ashlans its preservation ran well but as everything based on peace and light, it was bound to fail inevitably. So when from the ruins of the Ashlan occupation a Jedi enclave arose, it was just another incarnation of the blind lightsiders. Preaching peace and order while being absolutely oblivious to the realities of the Galaxy. Hence when the Sith Order raided the place, the Great Library not long ago, the scoured and scorched the place, looted and plundered a place which has seen looters and tomb raiders since millennia.

So the presence of a lonely robed figure was nothing unusual and odd. Darth Titanus was dressed in his neutral dark robe and walked through the big, crumbled front gate of the Great Library, his presence would be as calm and peaceful as that of a meditative monk. His step was that of a middle-aged man past his peak, a cane softly tapping on the floor which was covered in the red dust of the outside sands. He stopped to look around.

He was here for two things: He wanted to experience the invasion and raid which was conducted more than four thousand years ago and he wanted to find a script. Not in the vaults, not in the deep archives, nor on some technological device, but inscribed in the rock itself. He had read in some journals about it and it was said to be only found by those of who knew where it was.

The last time she had been to Ossus was to help Romi Jade Romi Jade defend the Praxeum, and every other visit had been to the Enclave meant for training as well. But today, her journey to Ossus was about exploring more of its history — something she had done when she first got out of stasis, but never really continued once she began to get involved in the Galaxy. Now that war was on the horizon again, she decided to take some time away to explore while she still could.

So after a long journey, Valery's X-wing settled down on the surface, and with a loud hiss, the canopy opened. Valery was quick to jump outside in her usual attire, but with some robes draped around her shoulders to shield her against the dusty winds. Even during her time, this planet had been in bad shape, but reconstruction efforts had already improved a lot about it.

Just the old symbols of the Jedi remained in their mostly ruined state.

"Hmm..." Valery hummed to herself once her senses began to adjust. She kept her own presence in the Force buried as much as she could for now, but something told her she wasn't alone. Had other Jedi traveled here as well, or was she missing something? Either way, she began the short walk to the ancient library to find out.

He was not in a hurry, not a bit. He was still in the main hall behind the entrance, looking around and inspecting the architecture as well as the crumbled statues and shot reliefs. It was, to say the least, an interesting place to learn about the ridiculous defiance of the Jedi who kept coming back like the little pathetic cockroaches they were. They left their marks, they claimed their land, they collected all knowledge and would hoard it. Different to the Sith? Not really, but certainly more hypocritic. At least, as ... some Sith.

Titanus was not a supporter of the current state of the Order and sought every opportunity to change that. Including this trip. But that was a slow moving puzzle which was to be solved step by step, starting with the corners, even if it was a cloudless blue sky.

He gazed around more and walked up to one of the central columns, his eyes looking at what time and several invasions and dozens of looters have done to it. With that, he went to actually see it, reaching out with his hand and closing his eyes. His palm run over the smoothened but still rough surface, he felt every gain, every imperfection as he delved into what these rocks have experienced over the years, over the millennia.

From behind he would pretty much look like an old man leaning onto a pillar to catch his breath.

"I'd be careful tapping into the Force in a place like this."

Valery's voice echoed through the hall which felt far more empty than it once likely did. She had spotted the man holding his hand against the pillar from the entrance, and while much of him was still obscured, she was not oblivious to his presence in the Force. Especially not now that he was actively tapping into it. Similarly, she allowed him to feel her own as well since there was no point in hiding it. Even if she obscured it, she doubted that he'd be entirely unfamiliar with who she was.

She had lost the luxury of going unnoticed many years ago.

"The memories and emotions that linger can drive even a strong mind into insanity." Death, despair, and destruction were powerful tremors in the Force, and as a novice practitioner of psychometry, she knew the effects it could have on the mind if one were to dig too deep.

"Why are you here?"

Of course. Why would he ever be alone somewhere. Whenever he ventured out, there were other curious moths flocking to the brightness of his presence. Afterall, if he wanted to be undisturbed, he would sit in his library in his castle at the edge of the Outer Rim and have everyone been kept out by isolation and his trusty guards.

"I could ask you the same."

He withdrew his hand, his heart pounding ever so slightly faster exactly because of what he started to feel, started to experience. It was delighting. But he stopped and turned, his other hand still on his cane as he looked at the woman with the peculiar eyes and strong physique. Titanus was as enigmatic as he was threatening. Not imposing or horrifying, but it was his absolute absence of a martial, physical and dangerous presence paired with his absolute calmness which made him a threat.

"It is a marvelous place, its history stretches aeons and has seen so much. Not to mention the immense knowledge once stored here."

"I've played an important role in reconstruction on Ossus. Not this library, though," Valery said. She didn't feel like she needed to explain herself to anybody, but making it clear who she was never hurt either. For a long time, she had been a guardian for everything on this world, and while much of that was behind her now, she still wasn't fond of the wrong types lurking here. Whether he was such a case or not remained to be seen.

Because while he didn't look threatening, there was something about his aura that kept her cautious about approaching him. He was no ordinary old man who stumbled upon this Temple or someone with just an interest in ancient history. Something told her that there was a lot more to it.

"If you're looking for ancient knowledge, this isn't the place. But I agree, there is much history here." She looked him over and briefly narrowed her eyes.

"What sparked your interest in it?"

"That must have been a remarkable undertaking. Being part of this worlds incredible history."

He looked at her while leaning on his cane, the gentle but energetic eyes observing the woman from head to toe. Another good looking specimen and certainly one who was more than capable to defend herself. The Sith wasn't interested to fight her for no reason, there were times and places to fight and battle the Jedi.

He was here for research and finding something, not to fight and also not here to read through books or find them.

"Curiosity." He gently smirked. "I have a weak spot for history and especially for the ancient history of Force users. I am not here to find data and knowledge, but to pursue myth and legend."
