PRODUCTION INFORMATION
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Analogue Parts: Being a mechanical watch, its unaffected by Ion Pulses.
  • Chrono: As an active time piece it has a single primary function, it tells the time.
  • Fashionable: Looks fantastic with a suit worn on the wrist strapped or in the pocket.
STRENGTHS
  • Tells the Time: The primary function of any watch, this one uses a natural piece of quartz made into the structure of a tuning fork, the natural electrical pulse feeding into an electromagnet which is repulsed by a separate natural magnet which repels a structure which impacts the tuning fork in a natural osculating feedback loop with a perfectly predictable wavelength that the mechanics use to function and tell a relatively accurate portrayal of the time persistently.
  • Natural Battery: Powered by its own natural magnet, the watches life expectancy on a shelf is 700 years before the magnet looses approximately half of its charge, however thanks to the inner workings and the piezoelectric energy given off feeding back into the magnets as they connect briefly via the connecting rod, it is drip fed the ionic charge it requires to upkeep itself so long as the watch experiences the kinetic movement of daily life.
  • Environment Seal: The watch is water, dust and sand proof and can operate in most environments except for extreme cold for long periods of time or highly magnetic areas which will disturb the watches inner mechanisms.
  • Mysterious Effects: There are many myths about mechanical chronos, some say they bond with their owners over time if worn enough. Something about them being used as a personal time piece which controls the tempo of one persons' world is enough to make it an incredibly personal item. As such items like these are known to develop bonds with their wearer to many minor effects... given enough time.
WEAKNESSES
  • Fragile: A crystal pane plated watch with hand forged components, although it can take a couple of knocks in daily life, its not made to take high impacts and can shatter with a good enough kinetic blow to the watch.
  • Interfering Forces: High powered magnets which overpower the watches low powered electro magnets will stop the watch, requiring the watch to be removed from them in order to function and tuned, if not repaired.
DESCRIPTION
This item was hand forged by Felix Aquila using custom tools which he modeled after those in an antique Rylothian manuscript, intrigued by the development of ancient technology and wanting to connect to the roots of the past he put an extraordinary amount of care and physical effort into hammer forging the tools with the methods of the Ancient Rylothians, pattern welding them out of iron to create his own steel, making ceramic molds for the gears of myriad sizes that he would hand file into place.

The work took him a considerable amount of time, though he found the intense focus it required in a way meditative and relaxing. Over the course of his project he felt closer to the ancient artisans of the world, in a time when electricity was not known about, before the influence of interstellar travelers corrupting the pool of progress with their scientific interventions via trade with the locals that would come to almost worship the god like stellar cowboys.

The Chrono is made of hammer forged pattern welded materials which give the chromium a darker, Damascus like sheen that is attractive to the eye, while the exposed crystal frames makes the almost silver gears appear blood-orange in colour. Felix decided to use a second crystal plate to reveal the inner workings of the chrono to better showcase the effort put in. Hand filed cogs and gears show the textured signs of being hand polished giving the piece an antique effect that simply cannot be replicated by the advanced mechanical process of the modern universe.

Uniquely imperfect, creating something truly beautiful. After all it was said and done, Felix engraved a message on the rear of the watch after he finished with the filigrees designs which surround the chromium case of the watch. A line in Twilek which reads:

"Remember our Humble Beginnings. Then go, and build worlds."
