A Terrible Tour of the Underworld

Chris Walker

Knight in shining plasteel
Character
It was just another day venturing into the underworld of Corrusant, and Chris was itching for a fight. Walking around in gleaming white armour and carrying one of the most powerful weapons to ever be packed into 12kg of metal didn't exactly make him blend in. He had been looking for a lead on plasma grenades, but all he found were random alien riffraff and drug dealers.

And not a single bounty hunter or sith around to try to kill him this time. Shameful.

A white streak flew through the crowd, being pursued hotly by five of the underworld police. Weaving through people and doing everything he could just to keep ahead of them, the boy dove and weaved from side to side, narrowly escaping a few grab attempts by his pursuers.

An odd sight to behold indeed, most people were so stunned by the spectacle that they simply watched the police run after Chaca. The small cathar was entirely naked aside from a satchel tucked under his arm the whole time he ran, leapt and dodged. His ivory fur was streaked in dirt as though they may have managed to trip him up a few times, though still haven't caught him.

They seemed to want him alive, or they would have shot him already. Or perhaps the contents of the satchel were simply too valuable...or dangerous... to risk shooting at him at all.

Because there were enough of them, the underworld police began to surround the area, causing Chaca to have to double back and run another direction several times.

Spinning and dodging to the left, Chaca stumbled and lost his footing, likely colliding right into Chris Walker. The small cathar boy was light, and even if he managed to stumble into Chris, it was unlikely that Chaca would even unsteady the human.

Either way, Chaca was on the ground next to Chris and the underworld police were now circling around both of them. One higher ranking officer stepped closer, but maintained at least 15 to 20 feet distance from them both. The officer spoke to Chris directly

"Turn him over and we won't harm you"

The officer said to Chris threateningly. They seemed to be understandably fearful of Chris: he was well armed and armored, unlike Chaca who was the very opposite. He pointed to Chaca who at the moment was crouched next to Chris, and was looking around frantically at all of them. There were close to a dozen underworld police around them now. Chaca clutched the bag under his arm, seeming to be waiting to see who was going to try what

Chris stood up, hand on his blaster. He glanced at the police officers and Chaca, the officers were armed with small blaster pistols and Chaca nothing. He tossed him a 411 Holdout Blaster and slowly drew his own Negotiator pistol, making sure he didn't point it at any of the officers.

" Step away, and holster your weapons" his voice was amplified by his imposing helmet, " I don't want to have to blast anyone away before I know what the frack is happening,"

The officers were keeping their weapons aimed at the Chris, ignoring Chaca altogether. "Hey kid, what do you exactly have in that bag that would warrant the attention of notoriously trigger-happy underworld cops and keep them from putting your body full of holes?"

He pointed his pistol at the head of one of the officers and waited for Chaca's response.

The boy looked up in wonderment and awe as Chris dropped a blaster down to him. It was a sign of faith in Chaca, to arm him without knowing what exactly was occurring. It was something Chaca wouldn't forget easily, he felt like he owed this helmet wearing warrior (Chris) his gratitude, to say the least.

Chaca grasped the blaster in his free hand, but did not fire. He knew how already delicate the situation was, for sure, but he also was rather gentile natured. He didn't actually want to shoot any of them

The timid little Cathar would look up at Chris as he directly asked the boy about the package. Chaca's sapphire eyes gleamed as he glanced down at the small satchel, and then up at Chris. He owed Chris some answers at least. And he seemed to be keeping the underworld police at bay for the moment, though their formation had become a solid wall of soldiers, surrounding the pair entirely at a 20 foot diameter.

"Its one of these. It has something on it, too dangerous for -her- to get it. Balance has to be maintained"

The boy said, his mysterious words only becoming stranger as he showed Chris what he had. It was obvious they didnt dare risk shooting and damaging it. Within the satchel Chaca carried was a pyramid shaped holocron.

"I would rather die than let it get into the wrong hands"

Chaca said, a tone of desperation to his voice.

"We will reward you, if you grab the boy and hand him and the item over now. We need he and the hologram intact. He is a slave, and to be considered property. Turn over these two pieces of property and collect your reward. There is no need for a fight"

The leading underworld officer said, interupting the exchange between Chaca and Chris. It was becoming apparent to the underworld police that Chris wasn't in on this and they may be able to persuade him to cooperate. They seemed unphased that Chris had raised his pistol

Chris didn't bother to ask who "Her" was and what balance had to be maintained, but he faced the Captain of the police,
" I am a Commander of the Nothmiro Federation, you will let us go. "

The leader of the police officers responded, " You sound like an imperial or maybe a Mandilorian, " he was sort of correct, his family was descended from the Vizlas of Mandilore, " I guess I'll have to kill you. "

The Captain raised his gun, but Chris was faster, he fired a round from his Negotiator into the helmeted head of the senior police man. The cop's head snapped back as a bolt of red plasma penetrated his skull. The other officers began raising their guns to fire and Chris was able to fire another round into another underworld officer before one managed to hit him square in the chest with a small pistol. The shot was absorbed and he put as many shots into the surrounding cops as possible, trying to shield Chaca from the blaster fire.

He hoped he was an O.K. shot.

The moment blaster fire erupted, one of the other underworld police exclaimed excitedly

"Stop firing you idiots! If we hit the-"

He managed just before being shot down by a blaster bolt from Chris's barrage. What he was beginning to say, they all knew well enough. If they accidentally killed Chaca trying to apprehend him, the information in the holocron was useless, and If they went back with a damaged holocron their existences were forfeit either way. They had one objective and could only allow one outcome: Chaca and the holocron intact. They could bloody and bruise him, but they were expected to return him with a pulse.

The remaining underworld police rushed in, closing the gap immediately as Chris began firing, all of them grabbing, punching, and swinging at both Chaca and Chris, trying to subdue and disarm them. Several of them were shot down by Chris as they closed in, but it seemed there were just more to take the place of the fallen

Chaca fired off several shots as well, surprisingly accurate in downing a few of them. But soon they were upon him, and Chaca had to dodge the swing of a club at his skull. Such a hit would have knocked him out for sure if it landed.

Leaning back, Chaca ducked just under the club and reached out, taking hold of the enemy's police uniform. Using his momentum, the cathar rolled back, tumbling the guard up and over himself, using his legs and backward-rolling motion. The guard was thrown like a sack of bricks into another guard, the two tumbling back and knocking a few more over

"We have to get out of here, they are just going to keep sending more!"

The boy squeaked as his blaster pistol was grabbed by one of them and yanked away from him. He was grabbed from behind by one of the police, and he had to react quickly by kicking his legs up and then snapping them back down, allowing him to use the momentum and hurl the larger humanoid over his shoulder and into the one who had taken his blaster.

Chris's blaster still unleashed a torrent of bolts as he ducked behind a pillar, his HUD flashed an alert.

- ! - BLASTER OVERHEAT IMINENT [background=transparent]- ! - [/background]

He took a few glances at the Cathar, who was now disarmed and slashed his claws across an officer's face. Chris vented his gun and rolled around the pillar, nailing another officer with a red hot plasma blast. Most were now incapacitated but four more came around the corner. He should have purchased that piloting droid when he met that sith artificer near Ziost.

" We need to move " Chris shouted, " my ship is near the entrance to this place "

Chris grabbed Chaca and pulled him down a street, firing blast after blast into the mass of underworld cops running behind them. He saw his ship at the top of an elevator. He didn't exactly like the feline alien and it looked like the cat his father had, similar in that it has a rare genetic mutation that caused it to grow excessive amounts of fur and shed it everywhere.

The doors of the elevator closed and it began to rise, an officer running to the control panel. Chris punched out the glass with his armoured fist and fired down at the officers, causing them to scatter and begin climbing the stairs to the next elevator over. He picked them off as they ran before his bolts began to dissipate before hitting their targets. The elevator stopped at the top and Chris bolted towards the ship and ran into the cockpit, hitting the ignition and closing the doors behind Chaca.

Chaca was light and small, it wasn't a difficult thing at all for Chris to grab and pull him away. Once they were fleeing the area, Chaca ran along side of Chris, looking back to watch several of their pursuers take blaster fire and fall

Sprinting to the elevator, Chaca frantically pressed the button as blaster bolts flew around him. He ducked and dove into the elevator, taking cover as best he could as the elevator climbed the sky and Chris returned fire through the broken glass

Staying close to the human, the boy knew he had little choice but to trust Chris. Chaca could only assume that Chris was unaware of the bounties on Chaca, and simply was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Or perhaps right - for chaca anyway. If it hadn't been for Chris, Chaca certainly would have been apprehended

Now as the ship readies for take off and the door closes behind Chaca, the boy knew he was at Chris's mercy. The human would get to decide ultimately what happens to him - it was a little unsettling, but had to be better than being brought back to the Sith

"Th-think they will follow us in ships?"

The young Cathar asked as he walked into the cockpit where Chris was working their hasty escape. He clutched the holocron in his fingers, glancing down at it briefly

"I didn't get to say this before mister...a-and I know we arent out of the fire yet.. But thank you.."

The Donna
Character
Nearby, the sound of blasterfire Drew the attention of a Native of Coruscant - A woman, seated at a small outdoor bar to the side of the walkway.

This woman was just below six feet, and was a bit of a unique feature, even in a melting pot such as Coruscant. In-front of her was a bottle of alcohol and a glass; empty, except for a cool amber liquid. On a shelf behind the small street bar, a holoprojector displayed a talking head; one of Coruscant's News (Propaganda) Agencies, speaking about the state of the Galaxy today. Her head turned, curly black hair shifting slightly.. Her head was trimmed in a beautifuly inventive mohawk with one side of her skull tattooed to appear hair had been cut in a curling, intricate tribal design. She had a number of piercings, penetrating violet eyes, and wore small silver earings in her ears.

Long black leggings hugged her shapely curves and were tucked into knee-high red leather boots; the toes of which had been capped in silver, allowing for a touch of class (and a devestatingly lethal concealed weapon). She wore a tube-top and a black leather jacket which was covered in a number of patches... Patches indicating powerful symbols of Gang Affiliation, Chaos, and Anarchy.

The woman was no stranger to the sound of gunfire, and shifted her ears to better hear its' direction.

"Well... Someone's having fun." She muttered, playing a credit chit on the bar and finishing her drink in a single swallow - her features unchanging. She stood, leaving the bar and tucking her hands into the pockets of her coat...

Like a wraith, she faded into the crowd, heading for the sounds of gunfire.
