Alkor Centaris
Son of Liberty
The Knighthood endured.
From ashes, it continually rose and spread indomitable wings that shielded the Confederacy from threats. Its face morphed constantly, its identities were stripped away and replaced, but somehow the Knights Obsidian continued in their duties. The newest difference was how they were led.
The former Lord Vizier,
Kyyrk
Sitdrisa'yr took the position from Rience, who took it from Cardinal Vi'dreya. It passed between the hands of the trusted few, into the hands of someone who came from outside. New eyes looked upon the weaknesses of the Confederacy from within, and the Vicelord had empowered the man- as Lord Commander- to take action.
This was all part of Isley's plan.
At first, everything played close to the chest. Trust was hard won, and easily lost. The Lord Commander had earned it. Alkor left the Knights Obsidian in good faith that his abilities could be used elsewhere. And the old had to step away so the new could grow.
He walked through the Citadel now with both uncertainty looming over those around him, anger, and distrust. That was another reason Isley made the decision. He was not someone the Knights would follow as their direct leader. He was not a trusted friend, nor was he a comrade. He had always been a lone wolf.
That did not mean he did not want to assure that the Knights thrived. Every part of the Confederacy had to be maintained. His place in that, for the Knighthood, was oversight from the Office of the Vicelord.
Alkor stopped to watch everything at ground level from behind the safety railing of the third floor. The Inquisition was already in motion. The Master's Council was in session. New recruits were being called up.
His report was all but complete.
