Private A Priori Obsidia

The Knighthood endured.

From ashes, it continually rose and spread indomitable wings that shielded the Confederacy from threats. Its face morphed constantly, its identities were stripped away and replaced, but somehow the Knights Obsidian continued in their duties. The newest difference was how they were led.

The former Lord Vizier, Kyyrk Kyyrk Sitdrisa'yr took the position from Rience, who took it from Cardinal Vi'dreya. It passed between the hands of the trusted few, into the hands of someone who came from outside. New eyes looked upon the weaknesses of the Confederacy from within, and the Vicelord had empowered the man- as Lord Commander- to take action.

This was all part of Isley's plan.

At first, everything played close to the chest. Trust was hard won, and easily lost. The Lord Commander had earned it. Alkor left the Knights Obsidian in good faith that his abilities could be used elsewhere. And the old had to step away so the new could grow.

He walked through the Citadel now with both uncertainty looming over those around him, anger, and distrust. That was another reason Isley made the decision. He was not someone the Knights would follow as their direct leader. He was not a trusted friend, nor was he a comrade. He had always been a lone wolf.

That did not mean he did not want to assure that the Knights thrived. Every part of the Confederacy had to be maintained. His place in that, for the Knighthood, was oversight from the Office of the Vicelord.

Alkor stopped to watch everything at ground level from behind the safety railing of the third floor. The Inquisition was already in motion. The Master's Council was in session. New recruits were being called up.

His report was all but complete.

Taiia Mataan Taiia Mataan

At that ground level was a young woman with vibrant red hair standing and talking with another pair of squires, the conversation went on for several minutes before the pair walked off leaving Taiia to her own devices. No longer distracted with conversation she felt eyes upon her, not directly upon her per se but looking in her direction at the very least. The young woman turned her head and emerald eyes followed to the source the man high above, she did not recognize him right away but then it clicked in her mind the newest Exarch, she was quite curious about him and well everything about the higher echelons of the Confederacy but her studies had dampened her curiosity for the most part. It took her a moment then she realized she was staring and turned her gaze back away. She made a show of sitting back down and picking up the book she had been reading, however she was currently thinking of all the different reasons an Exarch would be here.

Closing the book, she shook her head slightly and stood walking out from his view and down a corridor, when she reappeared, she was approaching him from behind. They say curiosity killed the cat, Taiia in this regard was always a slow learner, but at the same time nothing ventured nothing gained. “Pardon the intrusion Exarch Centaris was it?” she spoke plainly to him, but respectful she did not know him at all but they were all one the same side so approaching him should not be an issue at least in her mind. “Pardon the intrusion, I was wondering if there was something, I could help you with?” it was partially true, curiosity was the prime factor here but at the same time she would help if she could with anything and it was unusual at least as far as she knew for an Exarch to be here.

It was easy to see that the heart of Metus' vision remained. Untainted by his personal views on the Force, the Knighthood was left to familiarize themselves with every possible walk of knowledge. These neophytes journeyed through different corridors of light, darkness, and everything in between in pursuit of their own truth.

It was a world where someone like Alkor could not belong. He had his hand in shaping it, and he had his memories as a part of it. Now, he understood it enough to see it grow and adapt to a new, wholly different future. Perhaps that had been the Vicelord's goal from the beginning.

Or, perhaps it had just played out that way.

It was no small wonder that his presence drew the attention of a Knight. He was aware when he caught her eye; or was it that she'd caught his? In the brief exchange of glances, Alkor determined that she hadn't felt him in the Force. Her expression was one of consideration, not concern.

So, his presence remained sequestered deep inside. That was good. He was no more than a speck in the current of the living Force, at least to anyone who might seek to sense him.

When she disappeared, Alkor closed his eyes for half of a heartbeat. Had they doubled security in the Citadel? It would have made sense. The Inquisition effort intended to make Geonosis the safest place in the Galaxy, let alone the other worlds of the Confederacy.

But...

"Exarch Centaris, was it?"

Alkor slowly turned his gaze toward the woman, perhaps several years his junior. She asked if there were anything she could help with. There was more to the question than she let on, but he answered at face value.

"Yes," he answered, "but Alkor will do, if you don't mind disregarding formalities." He was never one for the titles, even when he was Knight Commander. He looked back over the crowded, bustling halls of the Citadel and wondered if they ever considered the changes, or they merely adapted to them. "I was just finishing a report, nothing terribly pressing."

The Citadel itself was a mechanical marvel. It was a testament both to the Southern Systems dominance of technology, yet it felt like a place that the Knights could call home. Under the last Lord Commander, it had seen structural changes and expansion. Now, it was perhaps even more defensible than the Crown of Golbah City itself.

"I fear even with my former status as a Knight Obsidian, I did not come to know every member of the Order. And you are?"

She watched closely as he began to turn her way, he seemed older and perhaps more stern than she imagined perhaps now considering if it was wise to approach him so casually. A bit too late now for second guesses however Taiia gave a charming smile as usual and bowed slightly as Jedi were prone to doing, old habits, and introduced herself properly. “Alkor it is then, pleased to make your acquaintance my name is Taiia Mataan. I suspect though even if you did know every Knight Obsidian I may have well escaped your notice. I have only been with the Knights Obsidian for a short time since my arrival on Geonosis" the young redhead studied him for a few moments before she spoke again. "You said former Knight Obsidian, did you leave to become Exarch?"

There was no malice in the question just a young woman seeking knowledge of things she did not know or understand about the new world in which she found herself withing the realm of the Confederacy and more so the Knights Obisidian all was new to her, and one could only learn by asking the questions, of course knowing your audience was also key to this. Perhaps one thing she did need to work on.
