A New Beggining

Vulpesen's tail lashed behind him as he paced the halls. Oh, nothing like reviving a long dead order of guardians to snap the crippling sense of responsibility into your mind. Of course, there were some differences in his plans over the Tenevi Order. Among the largest being his recent developments to expand by means of alliance. Having sent out a message as well as coordinates to his home planet and where to find the meeting place, he had called on [member="Dux Pontus"] and [member="Dux Kotass"].

With him, he of course brought along another founder of the order, [member="Tricia"], a person he now turned to. "So, what do you think the chances are that this won't end with my father's old meeting room being blown to bits?" Of course,t he words had a bit of humor in them, something to keep him from going insane. Though, he also hoped the the master's, something that came with her substantial age might come in handy. Of course, there was a fifth person he had invited. [member="Krest"] was a member of the Order of the Grey, a group he had quite a bit of experience with, considering their leader was going to have his children. Hopefully his presence would help keep a sense of neutrality to these negotiations.

Needless to say, Dux Pontus disliked Dark Jedi. In fact, he hated them. It was enough to make him leave the One Sith and walk down his own path, accompanied by several true Sith who have decided to follow him. The amphibious Sith greatly valued all of them and their decision to abandon their promising careers. Naturally, of all of them, he liked Lady Zarrah the most. The living embodiment of perfection and his former Master that he loved so greatly. Then there was [member="Dux Kotass"], a young woman that used to attend his classes, always showing great promise. Avreet watched her grow and eventually started to see his fellow Sith Lady as a little sister. And finally, Zaria, a young Chiss assassin who now trained under Avreet as his newest apprentice, showing great promise. He could only hope the Chiss would not abandon her training like his previous apprentice, Silara, who left the Mon Cal Sith Lord without saying a word after their very first lesson and became a broken Dark Jedi. A pathetic parody of a Sith, really, but one that further pushed him from the One Sith and their flawed teachings. His heart wept for the Sith, true Sith like his beloved Grima. The woman responsible for the creation of the Order of the Phoenix. A small group, but their conviction burned brightly in the galaxy filled with Dark Jedi.

As such, the opportunity of combining forces with another order that shared similar views sounded promising. But how could one know they were not just another Dark Jedi, following no code, having nothing to restrain them? The thought unnerved him a bit as he paced alongside Lady Kotass, each step filled with purpose. Much of his body, arms included, remained hidden underneath his heavy black-colored cloak. The large domed head of the Mon Calamari turned to look at the brown haired woman next to him, big amber eyes curiously watching her, wondering how much devotion she had for the Sith ideals. Had she betrayed the One Sith for the sake of their friendship, or was there something else?

His head tilted back, looking in the direction they walked, observing the structure. "Isn't it curious all Force users prefer to operate in such grand buildings," he commented with a soft chuckle that escaped his lips, his large eyes still studying the architecture, "And yet, Jedi or Sith structures, all hold so much beauty."

She followed [member="Dux Pontus"] towards the meeting chamber, and as she did she replied to Dux Pontus I like the building, and yes we are the galaxy elite. So we should always operate in grand buildings. She smiled as she did, after all this was going to be good day. Though she would have to see rexus soon, and tell him the news. That was for another day though, today was about getting these to orders to work together.

As she entered the meeting room, she saw [member="Tricia"] and [member="Darth Tsolan"] in the room already. She gave them a bow out of respect, then waited to offered her seat.

Tricia Kalamack

Sleeps all day.... yawns all night
Tricia looked at the man and spoke. "Well you never know, sometimes blowing things up is important." She shrugged and hovered there with the force under her more for her own enjoyment then anything else. THis was an interesting thing and above all else she was bored now. Meeting with ones who had been sith was like meeting with ones who had been jedi they had the air from their old order on them and were usually trying to play at being better then them.

Vulpesen let out a small laugh and went over to take a seat at the head of a very large table. "True. But I don't think my parents would be happy if we broke their nice council table. We did just get this thing back after all." He was referring of course, to the leaders of the Zorren resistance, also known as his long lost parents. Taking back Veradune had been tricky but now that he had it, he was far from eager to see the beautiful Zorren structures blasted to pieces after some bad politics, a sentiment he was sure that its previous owners shared.

Then again... the chances of such a thing happening were rather lessened by the fact that each of the side walls were lined by a group of Zorren soldiers, each of whom wielded a vibroblade and a stun pike. Would they be a match for the other diplomats if a fight broke out? Probably not. But his species was a hardy one, and they should prove a good distraction. Still, he had to remain confident that things would end peacefully and productively.

Still smiling, he shook his head as the Sith duo entered the meeting room. The smile vanished from his face when his large eyes spotted the soldiers alongside the walls. Were the diplomats so afraid of the two former members of the One Sith? Perhaps the armed Zorren served as an intimidation factor? The Mon Calamari did not know for sure, but his was in stark contrast with the hospitality of the Imperial Remnant the two have received some time ago. Ignoring the soldiers, his gaze shifted towards the massive table that dominated the room, and the two beings who must have been the hosts. The man belonged among the same species as the guards, while the woman's race proved to be harder to guess. In a brief glance, as he did not want to stare, he deemed her to be a human, yet one slight detail suggested otherwise. Pointed ears. This indicated a Sephi, but it could have been a genetic mutation just as well.

Unlike his companion, Avreet did not bow. Not out of disrespect, but because of the fact a true Sith never bowed to anyone. After making a mental note to remind Sabrina of her mistake later, both of his eyes fixed at the two. "Greetings," he said in a polite tone, his Imperial accented voice resonating within the grand walls, "I am Dux Pontus and this charming lady is Dux Kotass." A nod towards the woman formerly known as Darth Banshee and he turned his gaze at the duo standing opposite, waiting for them to act. Despite not bowing, he would not be opposed to shaking a hand, which he hinted at by moving his cloak aside, revealing his right arm.

Vulpesen's halting took a sudden stop as the doors to the hall were opened for his guest, and his golden eyes flicked up to watch every expression on the mon calamari's face. He figured the guards might provoke such a reaction, but he found himself fairly unworried about it. Such a thing would be addressed as quickly as possible. Walking over to the duo, he placed his hand over his heart in a shape resembling a claw before giving his head a small dip forward. A respectful greeting he had picked up from the Zorren culture he had now immersed himself in. It was a respectful greeting.

"Salutations." He took [member="Dux Pontus"]' hand firmly and shook it before motioning to the seats of the table. "Please sit down, and don't mind the guards. The planet and its people are going through a rather large transition. Things are going fairly smoothly, but in times like these, one can't be too careful." He walked over to return to his seat, his tail moving it out for him to sit down. "My name is Vulpesen Torrevaso, and this," he motioned to his companion. "Is [member="Tricia"], one of my most trusted advisers. "

Once he was settled, he placed his hands on the table, folding them together. "So, shall we get down to what you came here for? Not much use in us just babbling when there's a galaxy in chaos."

[member="Dux Kotass"]

She nodded as the vulpesen spoke, and then took a seat. I recognise you, are you a member of the one sith? She then kept her eye on him, if he lied she would know. This could be a trap after all, she waited for his answer. Though she knew the sith had traitors in their ranks, he may be one them who had enough the dark jedi perpetuating themselves through the ranks.

After the handshake that followed, Avreet sat in the comfortable seat, one of his eyes continuing to observe the soldiers. It wasn’t until their host introduced himself and his lady that the Mon Cal’s eyes fell upon them again as something clicked in his head. The name sounded similar and now that he closely observed the man’s features, he started to recognize him. [member="Dux Kotass"] was faster though, the same thing Avreet had in his mind already leaving her mouth. Glancing at her and giving her an encouraging nod accompanied by a smile, the Mon Cal’s gaze grew serious again when it shifted back at the man.

“I am interested in this as well. Please, do not take our curiosity as prying, but if you truly are a member of the One Sith, offer us an insight into your reason to fight against them.” The amphibious Sith Lord said coolly, his voice calm and collected, as if trying to pass that calmness over to the others in the room.

Avreet and Sabrina may have been traitors as well, but their act of defiance was a reaction to the increasing brutality of the One Sith towards non-combatants. In fact, Avreet would have stayed in the One Sith if not for the massacre on Zeltros. As such, he needed to know the exact reason of why the man on the other side of the table has decided to betray the One Sith. Definitely not for Zeltros; the event was far too recent and this Temple too grand, which indicated the other Order must have been in motion for quite some time, predating the skirmish on Zeltros.

He grinned and took a three part medallion form his desk, shield on which there was a pair of wings and a star. Separating it, he laid them down, the star at the top, the wings under it, and the shield under those. "Life.. Freedom... Unity. The sith follow our last tenet. They wish to unite the galaxy and it was under that pretense that I fought for them. But considering our other two tenets, I have no other reason to fight for them. I've simply been biding my time for the right moment." His voice was calm, but in his eyes there was a passion. The sith fought against almost everything he lived for. He would see them taken down, but it wasn't very often he made these thoughts so transparent. He had to keep up the act, but underneath, he was always yearning to enact his justice. He just needed that perfect moment.

[member="Darth Tsolan"] I [member="Dux Pontus"] I @Tricia

She listened intently to vuplesen as he explained himself, she found herself agreeing with him to an extent. She then spoke after him, To me the one sith have betrayed the sith code, as it is a universal truth. Regardless if you believe in the code, and even if you don't believe you follow it. She took a sip of cool water on table, the table was looked quite old. As it tell you not to make your enemies hate you, and tells you why. Yet all they do spread hate, and by doing so they will eventually be defeated. She then paused taking another sip of water, They have betrayed and tainted the sith code, so we devised a new one that still speaks of passion. She did not want to delude her host, she still considered herself sith. Though she did not want to follow the code as the one sith does, as that route leads to self destruction. The sith code speaks of survival, not destroying yourself to other peoples hate.

His eyes turned from the medallion as its owner finished speaking, looking towards Lady Kotass. Avreet agreed with both, yet neither of them. As many Sith, he also had his own interpretation of the Sith Code, different from the version of Sabrina. The original Code was unfortunately often interpreted in the worst of ways, particularly the first line that led all Jedi and most Sith to believe Sith wanted war. This required a correction, therefore he and the love of his life rewrote the Sith Code in an attempt to make it easier to understand, putting more emphasis on control over one’s own mind and passion.

“Pardon my presumption, but the tenets sound fairly vague,” the Mon Cal commented, “In a way, the One Sith break all of them, yet if I look at the problematic from a different angle, they follow all three at the same time. I believe the tenets suffer from the same problem plaguing the original Sith Code; they are unclear. As history teaches us, if you want your followers to follow the same path you walk, you should be very clear. In the opposite case, those who shield themselves with your ideals will bend them to achieve their own goals.” The Sith Lord said.

“Those Dark Jedi who call themselves Sith have displayed no concern for the lives of non-combatants. Worse yet, they started targeting the civilians. It is dishonourable. It cannot continue. It is not a Sith way. To kill a vastly weaker opponent is to prove your own weakness.” Avreet stopped talking, frown spreading across his expression as he remembered the massacre on Zeltros very well. “To ensure that will not happen within the Phoenix Order, we have addressed the issue by creating additional commandments. One of them forbids from killing civilians. Do you also have something like that? Something that restrains you?”

Vulpesen couldn't help but let out a small laugh at the mon cal's words. He had through the exact same thing when his father first told him the codes, but upon learning their meaning, he found himself drawn to them with every fiber of his being. "You are correct, and wrong. They are vague, yet strict.You see, the words are said in that order, and only that order. But we have no more of them as to keep our people from bickering. The jedi fought day in and day out over the meaning of their precious code. Schisms over the millenia as they argued over what they meant. And are you to try and tell me that your sith don't believe they follow their code? The same code you tried to follow? What is the difference now, save that you have written your philosophies on that parchment in addition to what they said? You see, the problem lies in interpretation. Everyone puts their own spin and it clashes with others. And you can't put on bylaw after bylaw because your code turns into a book and becomes ineffective when a person his that situation when he must think outside the conventions of the normal code."

He tapped down the line of pieces. "So, we are vague so that multiple interpretations are allowed. Do what you must to defend our three tenets. The only rule is, the tenets must always stay in order." He tapped the star. "Life, we keep people alive. We value life above all else. If death can be avoided, then avoid it. But if you must take a life, make for damn sure its done to preserve the greater amount of life." He tapped the wings. "Freedom. When people are alive, we free them. There is no point in saving a slave if they die in the end. But we will free them as soon as we see that it can be done with them alive. People must be able to live by their own free will, not ruled over by tyrants or enslaved by vicious masters." Finally, he tapped the shield. "Unity. When people are alive. And when they are free, we will unite them. Governments for laws to preserve the previous tenets. And each one checks the others. If you are an enslaving anarchist, we may take your life. If you are a detriment to life, we may imprison you and take your freedom. If your unity comes in the form of enslavement, then we will do away with it." He looked up at the Duxs to see if they understood. "The tenets are vague so that we are not frozen by philosophical questions when that crucial moment arrives. But they are in order so that we do not carelessly throw them away."
