A Metting of the Minds

Marek explained what had happened when he was younger and how he learned to block his mind off. She had never bothered to keep what he felt secret and didn't block them away. Prior to being captured by the sith, she had kept a small box of emotions locked away when she felt situations were stressful and then brought them out after. It had helped her maintain control of herself then. That metaphorical box was no longer present and since returning to the Silver's she had to be in battle again. Rightfully so though since there was the chance she could fall prey to the darkness within her again.

"I commend you, Master S'hadar on that ability. There are not many of your skill level that do it naturally. I too have a way to keep people out of my mind, but I'm not sure if that is one skill I can teach you since it deals with how I see. You see, if somebody attempts to get in without my permission, then an attack happens and they are blinded like me. However, they can see how I do. It throws the person off and they stumble around confused."

She attempted to hide the small smirk she had, but didn't think she succeeded at it very well. It was a natural defense she had come up with when she was little girl and had no real control on it when her mind was being invaded. However, if she allowed the intrusion, then it didn't go off. In thinking of other skills she had she could share, he answered her question on his venture.

"Please, just called me Jairdain. It's just us here and there's no need to be so formal to me."

Thinking about his venture, she nodded. Her people had attempted to wipe out the Dark on her world. It was how she grew up.

"That is something I understand completely, Master S'hadar. I will aid however I can."

"Well then Jairdin, I am happy to have you aboard for this effort."

Marek was smiling now, it was always uplifting to find another soldier in the war against the darkness, and Jairdin's mental abilities would make a fine addition to their arsenal. She would be pivotal when and if the time came for action. She mentioned her own ability to counter those who dared try to enter her mind he couldn't help but find himself impressed. Such a skill was remarkable to say the least. If she could teach him, it could prove useful.

"Could you teach me to do that? Blind those who pry into where they are not welcome?" He asked curiously, intent on learning this new skill.

From what Jairdain could tell, Marek really was happy to have her join in his venture. He then asked if there was a way she could teach him how to blind another with her mind. Her face grew thoughtful for a moment as she considered her words. As she spoke, her words didn't sound confident.

"I developed it before I knew I could use the Force and I'm not sure if I can. I can explain how it goes off and the effects on the other person. It is but a temporary thing and only lasts a few minutes before they regain their normal vision. The barriers I built up around my mind just lash out in defense almost naturally, it isn't something I even consciously do. That is why I'm unsure I can train this skill."

Now turning to face him, her hand fell from his arm. If they started moving again, she would like to have that little extra guidance, but wouldn't ask for it.

"If you want, attempt to get into my mind. The attack will allow you to see how I see. Don't worry, I won't let anything hurt you while you're blind, Master S'hadar."

Giving him a small smile, Jairdain waited to see what his reaction was going to be.
