A Light in the Dark

ECLIPSTICA
SHADOW EMPIRE TERRITORY

01300 Hours Standard Galactic Time, aboard the 'Herald's Light', an Ession Crusader-Class Corvette, three handpicked diplomats on behalf of Archlord Graxin Rade were en route to the Shadow Empire to speak with the Shadow King, Romeo Sin himself. Their mission was to bring them into the fold and introduce them to their laws, their cause was just.

The lights of hyperspace stretched on as the vessel entered hyperspace, Kaigann had situated himself in the bridge of the vessel, he felt comfort there among the captain as he watched the stars pass by. It was his first solo mission, naturally the padawan was nervous and anxious at the same time. He was one of the lucky few who would be conducting diplomatic talks today in favor of the Shadow Empire joining the Ession Reformation, along with him was Master Hayato and Rexus Drath who were his seniors, he would do well to take notes during the talks.

Kaigann was dressed in ebony robes, finer jedi attire to signify the importance of this meeting. He stared out into the void as they left hyperspace, they had reached their destination. Eclipstica.

The Crusader Class Corvette was heavily disarmed in preparation for the mission, they came as protectors and peacekeepers, they would conduct the talks and leave in the same manner they entered. Kaigann moved forward towards the communicator, contacting Eclipstica Orbital Control the padawan spoke, "This is the Herald's Light of the Ession Reformation, we have come as scheduled to speak to his highness the Shadow King, Romeo Sin. Requesting landing codes."

Shadow Keep

The day before had declared a diplomatic meetings with the Ession Reformtion coming to acquire the allegiance of the Shadow King. As he awaited the coming diplomats to arrive, he sat upon his throne, wearing a black shirt covered by a white robe, and also wore his black faceless mask. He did not know these people, and this felt it necessary to not show his face right off the bat.
He tapped his fingers on the arm of the throne, and relaxed a little more in it, wondering what exactly these people were like, he pondered whether is lightsaber, clearly shown on his hip, was necessary today. Though he believed that no one was stupid enough to attack a king in the middle of his home.
He had been in these sort of situations before, where his mannerisms, intellect, and logic was all he was armed with to hopefully stop wars, and start new relationships of the healthy kind. Were these the kind of people he wanted to mingle with in the first place. He cracked his neck, and sat upright, pulling out the datapad his daughter had upgraded for him. It was now ringing in a call, and when he answered, the Eclipstica Orbital Traffic officer answered.

"Your Highness, the Ession ambassadors have entered Shadow Space. Shall I give them the OK to land on the planet." Romeo cocked his head at the question.
"Well, of course. Give them the clearance to land here at the keep." He replied with a soft, but somewhat cold tone.
The officer acknowledged the order given, and ended the call.

With appliance of the best manners that could be mustered, the officer contacted the Ession's ship.
"Herald's Light, you are clear to land, coordinates are being sent as we speak for the Shadow Keep. Please enjoy you stay here." He said in his cheeriest tone. Honestly he was probably bored out of his mind, but his job was important, and thus required his best.

Now it was just a matter of minutes before the Ession ambassadors were in front of Romeo with their diplomatic solutions to a merging of groups between the two. Romeo smiled behind his mask. 'And now the game of thrones begins...' He thought to himself.

Rexus wore a black polo shirt with the letters B.A.M.F stenciled onto the left breast pocket, protruding from that pocket was a pack of cigarettes that was half full. Let no one ever say Rexus wasn't optimistic. Bellow that he had on tan slacks and pair of decent dress shoes. The ancient imperial knight had done the whole robe thing before and to be honest it was really hard to get in and out of them, that and they were just generally uncomfortable and itchy as hell. So he did his best to look like a formal member of the Ession Reformation, Rexus was tired of living in the shadows and doing the bidding of greedy emperors. He had begun to work his way towards the light and fight for a worthy cause. And if he could be the voice of reason in this situation and keep war from breaking out then it would be ten us points to his light side meter.

Stepping up behind the Jedi padawan Rexus took a cigarette from his shirt pocket and placed it in his mouth. "I bet you say that to every king of an empire so nicely." He said to Kaigann with a soft chuckle, lighting the cigarette in the process. Taking in a long drag of the sweet sweet poison Rexus smiled at the padawan and exhaled the smoke away from him. The twenty nine year old knight kept a warm smile on his face and took another drag, exhaling shortly after.

"I remember back on Atrisia, we had negotiations for peace with a guy named Sargon and this other dude I can't remember." Placing the cigarette in his hand he flicked some ash from it and placed it back in his mouth, the air began to smell of the sweet smell of natural tobacco. "So I was there to see everything was safe and going well." Taking a long puff Rexus exhaled again and continued his little lesson. "Everything was going well and the emperor and the diplomats from the fringe had come to an agreement and the meeting was ended on a positive note." With another long drag Rexus paused keeping the smoke in his lungs before exhaling outwards. "The next week the fringe brought a fleet to invade Atrisia and the Confederacy dropped a fleet on the capital." With a soft chuckle Rex flicked some more ash and spoke one last time "Moral of the story, don't trust people in politics. They might be smiles up front but the moment you turn your back they will put a knife in it." Rexus took a long drag and chuckled slightly exhaling as he did so.

stardust walked the stairs up to the keep, both her saber bounced with each step she had dressed casualy for this meeting wearing some blue jeans and a red shirt. she entered the keep an smiled "ah good to see im on time"truth was she usually would arrive on time to most things and rarely be late, she walked up and stood by where romeo was setting and gave a smile"so do yo how many is supposed to arrive?"she asked looking at the front entrance to the keep litte bit excited

Onboard the Herald's Light, the old Jedi Master known as Hayato was currently meditating in his private quarters. He spent a lot of his time meditating, mostly on the Force or his past, but today he was meditating on the mission he had been sent on by the Reformation. He was a diplomat sent along with two others, Rexus Drath, a former Imperial Knight now serving the Ession Reformation with his skills, and Kaigann Fossk, a young Padawan who Hayato didn't know much about, but was looking forward to working with. The old Jedi was happy to be able to be on a mission for peace again. It had been a long time since he had the opportunity to make to factions live in peace together through negotiation and diplomacy, rather than a contest to see who of the two sides is more powerful. He enjoyed that fact, however his unfamiliarity also made him a bit nervous. One would think a master as experienced and old as Hayato would have gotten over the nervousness before a mission, however the truth is that he was only human. No mortal man can completely get rid of their own emotions and feelings. Hayato had learned that lesson the hard way, however now he could control his feelings better and could keep his calm even in the most dire of situations.

But enough with the philosophy, there was a mission that needed to be fulfilled and just as the Padawan requested landing permissions on the bridge of the ship. As if the Force told him, Hayato opened his eyes and stood up. The man was clad in his former Templar armour, which had undergone some appearance changes of the years. At his side he had his sword, sheathed and attached to his belt. For this mission, he decided not to wear the helmet, which he left in his quarters. His reasoning behind this appearance is that it was the most formal thing he had, other than a couple torn Jedi robes from his time as a Jedi with the Jedi Order. This attire also reflected the person he had become. The Old Jedi had become a man who kept peace via means of battle, not through negotiation or similar ways. In this way, he would stay the same, even though he wished it to be otherwise. The galaxy in its current state was too hate filled and full of war so as to allow him to lay down his sword and finally live in peace, though this mission was a nice change of pace.

The old man stood up and made his way towards the bridge. The others were most certainly already waiting for him and he had no intentions of delaying this meeting in any way. Once on the bridge, he and the others could go to the meeting chambers of the Shadow Empire's ruler together.

Eyrina was more than dressed for the occasion. Her body was framed by an flawless flowing dress. The length was not normal for her to wear. A light purple dyed dress touched the floors upon which she walked. The lace dragging elegantly behind her.

Her coal black gemstones were woven delicately in her white hair. It was not common to see just any Sephi wearing the jewels, after all it was an indication that the male or female were upper-class. Even though Eyrina wasn't she sure could play it well. All of her hair was placed into one massive braid. Naturally she placed it on her right shoulder, hiding her hideous protruding bone.

She was an ambassador, the least she could do is look good doing it. Eyrina took in the surroundings around her. She wouldn't be surprised if this ended in violence. The Sephi was merely an experienced doctor, she wasn't even trained in anyway other than medically. Her fingers came up to her braid and began to nervously pulling at the ends, she was being subtle with it though.

Eyrina's hands were entwined as they exited the ship and placed them on her stomach. The air around her was proper and prestigious, she wouldn't want it any other way. Though she was feeling a little under the weather since she had yet to check herself in the mirrors. Despite that, she used very little cosmetics and when she did, her eyelashes were extended and a liquid eyeliner was painted into two wings. Following behind the Jedi Eyrina tried to keep her eyes focused but they were always looking at something else. First it was the formally dressed man.

The Green irises practically glowed against her fare skin, they watched as he smoked his cigarette and spoke his stories and opinion. Eyrina never smoked, she was scared it would damage her appearance. Before she knew it, she was walking along side the smoke smelling knight. Her chin was raised a little high, but not by much. What bothered her is how everyone seemed be armed one way or another.

Eyrina felt as though she could have snuck a Hold-Out Blaster beneath her clothing. It was rare Eyrina was not running her mouth at the time. What killed her was the waiting they did. She wanted nothing to get in those doors and deliver her message along side the fellow ambassadors. Though when the Knight mentioned something about getting stabbed in the back she spoke up softly.

"Some politics are only doing their job. They all have pressing matters that need to be dealt with, one way or another. Not to mention they aren't the only ones who'll stab you in the back." Eyrina sighed, "It's hard to find secrets behind a pretty face." Eyrina sighed, "Than again it is even harder to find secrets when all you look at is the surface."

As he awaited for the ambassadors, a table rose from under the floor, and chairs were placed on either side, and at the end for them to sit, chat, and eat comfortably. "Star, please, take a seat. Any minute they will be here. I am just getting the place set up." He clasped his hands in his lap, and sat straighter. The table was a marvelous black marble color, with red lines all over, and the chairs were a black wood, with white cushioning on the back and seat.

Now all was set, and ready to for them to get here. Romeo leaned back. "Star, I believe we will have the longest talk of our life."

She nodded and sat down looking towards the door, something was nagging her....a force signature she remembered from a long time ago one she hasn't felt in awhile"it seems someone I recognize is here"she said not looking towards [member="Romeo Sin"] as she sat still in her chair"and yes indeed this will be a long talk for us

'Perfect.' The Jedi Padawan was pleased with what he had heard back from the Shadow Empire authority, they would be cleared for landing near the Shadow Keep and from that point move to continue with their mission. Easy enough.

The feeling of uneasiness slowly washed away as he turned to address the former Imperial Knight, now member of the Ession Reformation, Rexus Drath. This man had helped them on Gratos and had partaken in the war on Ession, his skill was well noted from his observations but he hadn't the faintest clue about him or the others for that matter. Nonetheless he was glad to have him and the other diplomats on the mission and would be sure to take any advice handed to him from the veteran. The apprentice gave off a coy smirk, "A bad habit I suppose."

Kaigann listened as the Imperial Knight told him a story from his past, and it's subsequent meaning behind it. Coming from behind came forth another of their ambassadors, Eyrina Ateo. Kaigann bowed his head to acknowledge the arrival of the Sephi onto the bridge. The apprentice nodded in agreement, "If we trusted every politician then the Republic would of fell again looong before now. Hopefully such a fate in the future. I don't think I've been formally introduced to any of you." He extended his hand outward to shake both Rexus and Eyrina's hands. "Kaigann Fossk, Padawan of Graxin Rade. Glad to have you both on board. Oh... Master Hayato a pleasure."

The young apprentice spotted the man known as Hayato immediately, he had been told of his arrival as well, it seemed the diplomats had all gathered in preparation, good.

The pilot spoke aloud confirming their approach, "Entering low orbit, we will be entering the atmosphere. Coordinates logged in, on approach to the Shadow Keep." The vessel moved into the atmosphere quickly, the corvette shook for a moment upon entering the atmosphere, parting the high rise clouds the Ession ship flew over the dark planet of Eclipstica. The closer they came to the Shadow Keep the more he felt the feeling of uneasiness return to him, however as they neared the capital of Eclipstica he felt something else as well. The oppressive call of the Dark Side, he put up his guard but couldn't help his curiosity, what was it that gave off such energies here?

The vessel slowed it's approach as it landed at it's designated landing point, they had arrived safely inside the capital of the Shadow Empire. With the sudden halt to the vehicle as it made it's landing, the Jedi Padawan turned to his fellow comrades as he made his way for the exit.

"It seems we've arrived, let's not keep our host waiting eh?"

"That's politics I suppose!" Rexus laughed a bit and finished the last long drag of his cigarette. He eyed his fellow Jedi and political comrades and nodded his head. "Alright people! When we are out there it's going to be dark, very dark! Keep your eyes open and thoughts clear. A sniper could take your damn head off and we might not even see the shooter before it's too late. If drinks are served then be weary, this shouldn't be hostile territory but it's always good to be on the safe side! Be polite and of course be safe, we want everyone here to have as good a time as can be during talks. So let's go do this and try to have fun." Rexus smiled and finished his small little safety briefing. They didn't need to hear it but it was second nature for him serving as gunnery sergeant in the imperial legion.

Rexus approached the door and made sure he would be the first one out. If anyone was going to take a bullet it would be him. The door opened and the ramp to the ground extended downward. It was dark outside, like stupid amounts of dark. A path with lanterns lined the path to the shadow keep and he assumed some sort of escort party would meet them so they could make it inside. Rexus stepped down and waited by the bottom of the ramp a few feet to the right do everyone could exit and be escorted inside. No snipers took his head off, so far so good. "Whose leg do I have to hump to get a dry martini around here?"

Romeo had stepped up from throne, and nodded at star, walked towards the doors, and opened them both wide. The darkness was beautiful to him, and he loved his planet, along with his people. As he walked down the lantern lit path towards the ship, a dark man stepped out, and started talking about humping legs. Romeo chuckled, and responded,, "My leg could use some of that dry humping sir." He stopped about six feet away from him, and bowed to him. "I am Romeo Sin, Shadow King, I hope you enjoy our martinis and my leg." He said behind his mask.

Eyrina gently accepted the Padawan's hand and went back to her silence. She was saving her many words for the Shadow King. If this place was like anything her father had informed her about, she wasn't going to like it. The Jedi Knight began lecturing the few about what it was going to be like and safety measures. As if they did not already know the dangers beyond what their eyes were seeing. Eyrina remained silent, allowing both men to go in front of her.

While she acted courteous it was only because she didn't want to be the first one to have their blood spilled. As she exited, her eyes adjusted almost immediately. Her pupils expanded to the darkness and her iris gently illuminated. The end of her dress cascaded down the step and than behind her. Eyrina took in a deep breath and continued down the path of lanterns, as usual, she took her presiouse time. A masked man opened the doors. Her eyes narrowed for a split second and she thought to herself.

Eyrina held back her opinions on the matters of his mask and continued to enter. Her lips tugged in the corners as she forged a polite smile. In all honesty she just wanted to skip the pleasantries and get right down to the business. Of course, there would be a proper time for that. Eyrina let all the introductions come before hers and than it was her turn.

She nodded once to the masked host. "Eyrina Ateo, Ambassador for the Ession Reformation." She still wasn't sure what hand to play in this meeting. Lifting her hand for a moment she waved it slowly, gesturing to the capital's conference building. "I have to say, I'm delighted to be in such a place." Nothing about that comment was true. If anything she was disgusted by the darkness. She preferred the light over darkness and right now, Eyrina was surrounded by the dark.

Though the show she displayed was holding up. It was almost like every words she spoke was the absolute truth. The holes in her lies would go undetected- For now. Eyrina's green eyes searched into the faceless mask as she spoke, as though she could see right through it to see the hidden face.

Stardust followed romeo out to the guest choosing to stay silent and watch as she felt the force grow as she approached [member="Rexus Drath"], once within seeing range she could see it was him, her old master the one who taught her the force and helped her with her sabers. She gave a bow before smiling "I am stardust friend to romeo" she looked at rexus with a smile "seem like time has treated you well old friend " she nodded to herself and looked at rhe others, unlike Romeo she was still trying to find where she stood in the force "

Stepping out into the dark surface of the foreign world, the ambassadors of the Ession Reformation came forth. Out of the darkness came a lone masked figure gripping hold of a lantern to light the way, seconds later a second individual appeared before the group. Breaking the silence as they approached the masked figure, Rexus spoke, "Whose leg do I have to hump to get a dry martini around here?"

Kaigann turned in amusement to his ally before gazing upon their host, revealed to be none other than the Shadow King himself. The Jedi Padawan bowed his head, "A pleasure to meet you your highness, Kaigann Fossk of the New Jedi Order." Turning to face Eyrina as she introduced herself the Jedi smiled, moving his gaze back to the environment and situation at hand he spoke to Romeo, "We appreciate you seeing us on such short notice. We have much to discuss your highness."

The old man had followed everyone else to the exit ramp of the ship. There he was listening to the Knight's lecture on safety during a diplomacy mission on a completely dark planet. He raised some good points, however Hayato already knew most of it and had thought of it, but it was probably useful for the ambassador they were with. He didn't expect her to be very well versed in military protocol, unlike the rest of the delegation sent here to negotiate. He left after the Knight walked out. No snipers it seems. A couple lights lit up the way they had stepped on. The old Jedi looked around and other than the lit up way, everything else was dark.

The group met the representatives they were going to have the peace talks with. He kept back in the group and let everyone else do the talking. He wasn't very good with social interaction, at least not with people who might be enemies. So at first he kept back, only introducing himself with a bow "Greetings, it is a pleasure to meet you, my name is Hayato." he said in a friendly tone. After that he would keep silent until he was needed.

As each Jedi introduced themselves, Romeo smiled behind his mask, "Please, let us go the gardens, it is peaceful there. We can discuss everything there over coffee?" Romeo turned on his heel, and began to lead the way to the right side of the keep, to the gardens. When they arrived at the gardens, Delvas plants were grouped all around, eating the insects, and letting out sweet scents.
"Take any of the seats you wish."
A circle of seats were placed before them.

Kaigann smiled and nodded slightly toward the Shadow King in recognition, "Outstanding, after you your highness." The padawan gestured his hand in a polite manner as motioned toward his company to follow Romeo towards the gardens where they would discuss the future of the Shadow Empire and the Ession Reformation. Walking closely behind the Shadow King, the Jedi ambassador moved to take a seat after being offered along with his group. "Much appreciated sir."

He lowered his body into a seated position as his allies filled the area, he was eager to get to business. The Jedi Padawan would wait for everyone to be seated before speaking. "We appreciate you seeing us on such short notice, again it is an honor. I would like to be clear on the manner of our visit and would like to open negotiations with words from our ambassadors." Kaigann smiled genuinely, "We would like the Shadow Empire to join the fold and aid us in bringing an end to conflict, an end to this wartorn era that has gripped the galaxy for far too long. Imagine. A galaxy unified by peace, the Sith long gone, and the people living under supreme harmony. You are a man of your people, that's a trait we can admire, we too serve our people in a way and wish to serve the galaxy in need. Help us save the galaxy your highness, together we can bring an end to this age of chaos."

The padawan breathed in slowly scanning the area before shifting his gaze back to the Shadow King, "Eclipstica will be under protection of the Ession Reformation and in aiding us it will never fall to harm by any foe foreign or domestic that would wish to cause harm to your great planet and people. We want to help you, we want you to help us."

Eyrina could have done without the pleasantries but she had to keep in mind with what they were dealing with. It was only in her personality that they get straight to the point. She would walk on eggshells until this meeting came to a conclusion or was at least adjourned. After all, her father did teach her better and the correct manors she was supposed to bring to the table in such stations as these. She was most certainly pleased upon hearing they would gather around something other than darkness for the time being. Nodding to the Shadow King smiling politely, Eyrina followed behind and took her seat.

A scolding coffee was also in front of her but she wouldn't dare to touch it. Not that it would be poisoned, which was a option, while it benefited her skin somewhat it would not do her well if she ended up staying up late and forming a few dark circles underneath her eyes. Folding her hands in her lap she maintained her stern and elegant posture. Tilting her head she focused her sights on the Padawan and listened to his words before speaking a few of her own when the time called for it. Once the Padawana finished his words she spoke up, her tone hushed and gentle.

"We believe this opportunity will benefit both of us in the long run. Eclipsica and it's people" Eyrina paused only for a merely second and took in a deep breath. "The Ession Reformation has their pieces ready to get accomplished what needs to be. Your word on where you are standing is all we need to progress." With a grin she got in her last saying. For now.
