SETTING INFORMATION

Nexus Name: A Journey's End
Nexus Alignment: Light - Given Tython's long history in the force, many flocked to the planet to study and further their knowledge in the mystical energy. Given how long the planet spent under the control of Jedi aligned powers, it has been exposed to the lighter elements of the force.
Location: Tython
Affiliation: The Ashlan Order - Beneath the Alliance
Size: Medium
Strength: Strong

Accessibility: Given the power of the nexus, those in tune with the force would likely feel its presence on the planet. Finding it wouldn't prove overly difficult for those force-sensitive individuals in the galaxy. It sits at the bottom of a large ravine, adjacent to Ashla's Embrace. It is considered a holy site by the people who call the city home. Many make a pilgrimage to it, therefore it is guarded by the order. Those without ill intent would be welcomed to explore it under the eye of the Ashlan Knights. Any reeking of the dark side would be barred from visiting the lake, likely before being put to the blade.

Description: A Journey's End is a massive lake spanning across the bottom of a ravine. A river runs through the ravine, ending at the lake itself. It is visible from all points of Ashla's Embrace and likely hosting guests at any time of the day. Massive rocks float anywhere from twenty feet to two hundred feet above the lake's surface. A stationary island rests within the center of the lake, decorated by a towering tree rising heavenward. The canopy hangs protectively over the lake, offering a home to many creatures.

NEXUS EFFECTS

Soothing Waters: Those who suffer injuries of various kinds can find the pain soothed and the wounds healed by resting within the lake over some time. While it cannot regrow limbs or vital organs, those who face broken wounds, lacerations, illness, and even force infused nightmares can eventually find reinvigoration within the lake. Anything directly related to the dark side will heal quicker than even normal injuries as if the nexus itself was attacking the corrupting influences.

Life Giver: The natural life within and around the lake is nearly all-encompassing. Dozens of species of fish grow in large number, larger than they may normally grow elsewhere. The grass is a verdant green at all times of the year. Within the center of the lake, a tree has grown about two hundred feet in size with a massive canopy, reaching out and over a large swathe of the lake. The tree is also home to various species of wildlife. It is its own ecosystem, capable of sustaining life to the adjacent town of Ashla's Embrace.

Skylands? Skylands!: Floating above the lake year-round, small rocky islands float above the water. They shift through the air, seeming to mirror the celestial bodies reflected in the water's surface at night. Some house natural life of their own, large enough for little groves, trees, and animals. Others are smaller, nothing more than a boulder.

POINTS OF INTEREST

Ashla's Heart: It is said;
'When Ashla first breathed life onto Tython, she wept from the heavens. Her world was beautiful but empty. So, the great goddess buried a fragment of her heart into the earth. Her tears filled the valley, providing her gift the precious life-giving waters necessary to grow...'
Ashla's Heart is a huge tree that grows from an island located in the center of the lake. It is home to thousands of creatures. Its large canopy hangs over the lake and shelters the island from storms. At its base, a tunnel has been burrowed into the tree and descends deeper underground to a large underground cave. The roots curve through the walls, hang from the earthen ceiling and dig deeper beneath the dirt. Each root is anywhere from one to six meters in circumference. From the roots of the tree, kyber crystals naturally grow, infused with the powers of the nexus. Ghostfire, dantari, and meditation crystals all can be found within.

Cyril's Rest: It is said;

'When Ashla returned to Tython eons after its birth, the world had grown. Her creation was beautiful, bathed in the light of her heart, and home to a great many creatures. When man looked upon her, they called up and asked why she gifted them her presence. Ashla smiled and told them; "Do not forget those who came before you or those who come after you. We are all but a single drop in the vast empyrean," before she once more carved out the earth, allowing for the beginnings of a great city.'
Cyril's rest is the largest of the floating islands hanging over the lake. It was named after Cedric's father, a former Jedi Master who gave in to the temptations of the dark side. It is a reminder to those within the order that even the staunchest warrior can fall to the shadow, but none are irredeemable. Some have claimed to see an apparition within the force, meditating atop the island or watching the city below. None can confirm or deny the truth behind it, so Ryv had begun affectionately referring to it as Cyril's Rest, in honor of his master's father.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

None are sure how the valley came to be, but the nexus had always been there. Given Tython's natural affinity for the force, one cannot be surprised a nexus of such power would form. Throughout generations, various iterations of the Jedi order popped up on the planet. It had become a world shrouded in the warmth of the light side. When the One Sith took control of the core worlds, most, if not all of them were left desolate and broken. Tython was no exception.
However, its people endured alongside the force. From the natural life-giving energies of the nexus, verdant greenery once more spread from the lake. Many upon the planet made a pilgrimage to the lake, settling down to build up a new home. The Ashlan Order was the first of those who came, establishing order and a proper rule. The nexus became a place of worship and new beginnings for those seeking them.
