A Jewelled Life [Syn]

@[member="Syn"]

Iella smile, souvenirs indeed, she thought.

It did not take long to the ship and once inside, Iella prapared for take off. A Temple could not be hard to find could it? After all not much was out here in the wilds of this planet. However, the information from her files might provide a clue, and as they traveled low across the surface of the planet, she look them over once more. The area around the Temple was once abundant with life, green lush life, but no more. After they had been removed, the crystals that sustained the vegetation, death followed quickly after.

Iella had the ship's scanner penetrating for any signs of life, or energy signatures as they moved east. Nothing appeared as yet, but one clue helped, the Temple is said to be in a valley. And before her she could see in the distance, the faint outline of mountains, maybe there within the range They would located the Temple.

She turned to Syn, "The information I have talks of a valley, before us is a mountain range, I think we should start there. There is little else to guide us in the files".

Syn sat in the ship, there wasn't much he could do scanner wise beyond say if it beeped. The ship was a semi dead zone to him and now he breathed in deeply listening to her words. A temple in a valley and he would have preferred to just run, that might have been easier in the long run but no stopping now. The trip was too far along while she seemed glad and calculating. He hadn't seen her like this often and it made sense to him in some ways she didn't need to be and there was a goal in mind. "When we get on the ground, we will be able to find it. We are this far and there is little reason to turn back or stop now. Lead the way and if anything comes I shall handle it."

@[member="Syn"]

Iella swooped the ship in a dive to enter the valley between two mountain ranges that stretched for miles and out of eye sight. All she could see was grey everywhere. Not one blade of grass or any sign of life on this moon. It is a barren waste land, nothing endearing in it at all. The scanners should no indication of anything, but something was, something whispered to Iella, the force. It told her she is on the path to finding what she seeks. The very fact that the force is now guiding her gave her heart that her decision is the correct one. Oh she still was fighting internally with this, many things she had thought over and over on, with this. The main one, that threw doubt in her mind, was that she would have to go through something on parent should ever experience, and that was to witness the death of her children and live on. This is the only thing that Iella is unsure she could handle. Syn had warned her of this, and rightly so.

Then before her, was the Temple, a lighter grey then the rest of the surroundings, no sign on the scanner of it presence, therefore no life forms or energy signatures. But she would have them land and search for information. A small flat area in the valley was enough to land the ship.

"We are here, the Temple is before us", she said as she stood up from the pilot seat. She checked her weapons, blaster and whip attached as well as her lightsaber.

Syn sat there with her as she flew and felt her... All those swirling emotions brought to his mind many things but none more important then what she was feeling it seemed deep down. Apprehension and for a moment he doubt even she might want to turn back but they had come this far as the ship touched down and he was more then glad to get off of it the ship if only because he couldn't help her in there. He could only sit and listen but his hand did come out and touch her shoulder. "Whatever your feeling, deep down. Tell me about it and let me help, it is okay to have doubts or anxiety. We don't know if they will even be there." The jedi master let out a grin while looking towards the temple and preparing himself. As he understood traps and misdirection was one of the ways to truly guard something and he expanded his senses letting the white current enter them. The ability to find and feel cloaked enemies or things could be just as useful.

That shimmering shift in the force wrapped around her, as she knew and sensed Syn had enveloped her in the Current. However, she just stood for a moment as her emotions welled up inside of her, at this words. Iella is not one of these weepy woman, she likes to keep her emotions hidden and close to herself, well emotions like these ones, she does not like to burden others with them. But sometimes the strong beings also need to be weak, and let someone else be strong for once. It is cathartic to do so and for good mental health .. a must. So she moved over to him as he stood waiting for her. He has embarked on this personal mission, just for her when he did not have to, oh she would do the same for him if he asked and she would not question why as she trust him completely.

Her arms reached out and took his waist, the slide around to his back as she moved in and pressed herself against him, just allowing herself the pleasure of the warmth. Her breathing a little hard from emotion and tears welled in her tears, she tried to fight them to stop them from falling, but could not. She just let them simply roll down her face, there is not wailing or noise from Iella, just silent pain. "Am I doing the right thing?", she asked, "If we find them and if I intend to use them, the only thing that could stop me, is the thought of see our children grow to old age and watch them die, I am just sure if I can.... ", she stopped now .. unable to continue the sentence. "I need your strength for this", she still deep down wants to do it.

It was there hanging in the air and the jedi master thought about it, his words he didn't not know if they would be a comfort or a curse. This was something dangerous to think about, no not dangerous. It was something saddening because she was experiencing what he knew he would go through and it had been a burden he knew to be his own. Then she had wanted to do this and find the orbs, she had wanted to enjoy the time with him just that much longer. Now he was contemplating what to truly say to make her feel better because he wished for her not to worry about her thoughts, to not fret over the thoughts of the future and their children growing old.

"There is no right answer my love, the passage of time will claim all of us when it goes on and we will join the force. The truth is doing this is something that will let me have more time with you. Doing this will make you happy and seeing our children live a full life will be something of a treat, I accepted a long time ago that I would live longer then my friends, longer then my family or my masters. It is something that will need to be your choice because while I love you and I believe I have more of the answers it must be your choice."

She pulled back slightly and looked up into his face. For a moment she just looked before her hand came up and with the back of her fingers she stroked his cheek. She watched her fingers dance across his features, the tips exploring his nose and chin and finally letting him caress his lips. "I want to be able to see this face every day the moment I wake.. for as long as the force permits me", she said, she had stopped the tears and a smile formed on her face. Her resolve had returned stronger now, she wanted to hear his voice his reassurance as she needed it. Yes it was going to hard, but who knows what the future may hold for them all.

He is right, anything can and will happen but the main thing the total reason for her doing this was standing right in front of her now, loving her. She moved up on her toes to reach his face, and placed a kiss on his lips, the softest of touches and full of love. Her arms went around his shoulders and she held him to her. "I love you beyond measure", she whispered most softly.

Gathering herself again, but still holding she giggled slightly, "Now shall we go? we still have some work to do to find them".

Syn gave a nod of his head at that, her just in his arms was enough but then she spoke and he drank in the words letting her light go through his senses. He felt her hand on his cheek and he nuzzled it a little he could feel her more as he spoke. "And I with you, for as long as I have you there is no one else I want." He kept close to her while she wrapped her arms around him and kissed lightly along her cheek to her neck and collar bone. This was what he wanted from their time, just a sense of eternal bliss with her in his arms. He had meant every word of it when he said it in the lake. then she was ready to go and he gave a nod while speaking and looking up. "Yes lets go and find them." The jedi master straightened his clothing and checked his hair with a smirk. He was ready to go and besides soon they wouldn't be able to just go off anywhere.

@[member="Syn"]

Hmm Iella thought as she watched Syn check his hair. Then shook her head amused at the sight, for something he can not see how it looks, he has a thing about it, but rightly so, he has great hair, especially when she runs her fingers through it.

Once he was ready, Iella moved down toward the back of the ship and stepped out onto the rough surface of the moon. The powdered dust flew up at the firmness of her foot falls as she walked toward the Temple, or what was left of it. Signs of aging on it facade but still the immense greatness of the place, evident. There is also signs of the past linked on it outer shell, the marking of old tree roots which have bitten into the stone over time not stand alone as ruts. No tree exists anymore or plant or grass, this was once a thriving living place. The entrance stands before them now, dark like an open mouth, gapping to swallow. Iella can not see past the entrance it is simply black, she reach out with the force to search for anything miss place or dangerous. She finds nothing of concern, however there a slight pulse of the force, an energy signature, but she can grasp it, it seems distance and vague.

He moved with her more on instinct, he could feel the trees here, it was strange and deep down the old trees in the stone groaned. He found it quite a sight in the force while he moved with her the sights she saw wasn't his to see but there were more things. The scent of the dirt they kicked up while walking. The smell of old and molded, of rotted wood and roots, polished stone that was becoming dust while time eroded it. He looked around to see it the force whispered anything, he let the white current come upon his senses to see if there was anything hidden here from the sight of others. The jedi master just stood near Iella walking and then he felt it... The force pulsed while he turned his head looking for the whisper tht had come to him and he could feel that Iella had felt it as well. "Something is here."

@[member="Syn"]

Iella ignited her blade, not because of any dangers, but to enter the Temple, as if there were dangers then she was ready. She walked across the threshold, and the force shifted, it was like she had walked through a thin wall of shimmering water, but not. The air seemed to move differently, the force disjointed and fractured here, it had been damage somehow, and remains in a state of instability. As Syn would enter he would feel the same. Nothing here was searching them or probing them, it could not, it could not work. Iella's light from her saber showed her more grey rock on the temple walls, some faded patterns of symbols that she could not make out. Toward the end of this main entrance is another door, and as they continued to explore the Temple, through each door they would experience the same, the fracture force.

It is not a large temple and very soon, they had visited all the rooms and found nothing. Iella would have been surprised if it had been that easy, to find something so quick, but there is always some clue, some sign of past events to provide answers .. but nothing is here. She stood in thought, and her brow knitted, as this is not right.

"Syn, this place is odd, there is something not adding up about it", she said almost in a whisper.

Syn snorted disapproval at the feeling, he could feel it well and see it. The force was wounded, damaged and it was something that only happened from fighting or extreme acts of violence. Someone had ripped the force asunder here in this place to satisfy some whims. It was to a miraluka sickening and much like things not touched by the force something that was avoided at nearly all costs. He sneered a little feeling uncomfortable at the thought of being here longer then he had to. He didn't know how if he had to explain it to Iella. "Something happened here long ago, it is a strange thing to explain but I can see the breaks in the force around us. Whatever happened we should not look to closely at it. Starring into a force wound can have dangerous consequences." The jedi master moved looking around while he continued to keep his head on a swivel looking for anything that might prove of interest.

She listened to his words and heeded them, after all Syn has been in this galaxy far longer then her and has seen much and his knowledge extensive on this issues. She walked around more thinking .. her treasure hunt mind set now in place and she looked around the walls. " Ok, if we can't look into the force, then we look at the physical world here?".

She asked this question not knowing if this would be as bad, but she walked over to the wall and ran her hands over it's surface. She had been in many dangerous situation on hunts and this was no different. They just had to remain aware and ready for anything. Her hand found a small crack in the stone surface, the tips of her fingers running along it to follow the thread, she realised it is not a join in the stone masonry, for wall construction but something else. It was running circular around the flat surface of stone.

"I think I have found something, there is a circular cutting in the stone", she would not use the force to examine it further on Syn's warning, but "It might be .. a door way?".

Syn moved with her and he didn't know if he had said it right. He had said it was hard to explain and while he continued to look around he felt the walls while he listened. He had a look finding the stone and then her hand as he felt a small burst of heat and that spark. Something more between them while he listened to what she saw. The force looked broken the wall and he could see it, he could see even more while he slid the current over his senses and ran a hand along the wall. The shimmering green light on the edge of his view brought him to a small alcove and he spoke. "Whoever was here knew how to scribe in the white current. There could be more illusions around." The jedi master kept his head looking around while he let out a breathe. It was almost like being on a ship where he couldn't see the force in the machines but in some ways worse. The broken and fractures were not something that should exist.

As his hand touched her's, she was surprised again... maybe because she was concentrating on the stone that his touch gave her an unexpected pleasure, that made her suck in her breath oh so slightly, but he would have heard it. She smiled and felt him near to her, she thought on memories now, of the day they met, when not even knowing his name, his real one anyway, that he reached for her and caressed her face, if she was honest, her love had started that day, maybe even in that moment. She remembered, and her smile widened, their first training secession and the closeness then, the barely touching moments that set her alight. And now again, with a gentle touch of his hand, she was aflame. This only served to steel her resolve for what they are both here for. And because he is here with her now, she loved him more. Here in this broken place, isolated, just the two of them, facing unknown dangers possibly, and yet they stand side by side.

She turned her head and looked at him, just for a moment, taking the time to admire him, not just his physicality and handsome features, but the man within. She had never met anyone as kind, giving and gentle as her Syn. She admires and respects him more then she could actually express.

She nodded her head now, in response to his awareness of the Current, she is not trained in this so therefore has not the ability to detect it. "Tell me what you see", the situation reversed in these cases, it is her that is blind now. "I think this stone, is the key here, a door to something or somewhere, might there illusions beyond it?", whether it is the moment or the place, but there is a slight undercurrent of sadness, she can sense. As if some thing in is dying in this place, and it started to effect her. Is this an illusion? or a trap of some kind, she could not tell.

He looked at the wall backing away while taking it in. The scribing he didn't actually.... Understand. He didn't know much of written language having never needed it but he knew the current and it wasn't more then a scribed illusion now. Something he could follow whole moving with it to the edge of the wall and placing a hand on a green shimmering panel that let him feel it. He felt another indentation and traced it matching it to the other and spoke. "There are many things but one of the best ways to get around temples is use keys. I'll push here and you there." If they didn't work they could try pulling while he tapped the scribed illusion and dissipating it while he moved. He could feel Iella and the several feet between them could hopefully be the way further in. "I cannot see beyond the wall. The current is not like a normal sense it is sight and sounds."

"Ok lets find out what is on the other side", she said. She placed her hand where he had instructed and began to push, she used a small amount of the force to aid her as Iella is not physically strong enough, even with Syn's strength. They pushed together and the stone slowly began to move inwardly. But they only got so far, when the stone began to move by itself. Then, it reached a point and a rumbling started as the entire wall .. and the walls around then, began to shift and change, each stone block pushing and pulling themselves in and out, and shifting position. Iella looked around wide eyed at this and turned to see that the entire room had changed and the entrance now disappeared with no way out, they are trapped in a stone tomb.

Silence for a moment, as she did not know what to say. It's a trap! or was it. A loud scraping noise began under foot. The stone floor began to move, in the direct where the entrance was once. Instinctively Iella grabbed Syn's arm and pulled him back away for the receding floor, but there was no where to go. Revealed to her was a gaping black hole, no light now, and she ignited her saber, there is no sign of the dark side .. she knew that by her blade, it did not pulse hum like it does if that presence is about. She pushed her back to the wall as the floor surface neared them and they would soon be go of solid ground. She prepared to jump, summon the force to her legs ready to fall and hopefully ease the impact of landing, where ever that might be.

Fear, pumped along their Force Bond from her, she could not stop it, the nature of survival and protection of Syn and their children, now at it's rawest. The floor disappeared, and instead of them falling, there feet hit solid ground in the form of a small platform, with stairs descending into the depths beneath the Temple. An audible release of breath came from her and relief.

"Now you know why I would ask for the big bucks, when I used to treasure hunt". she joked to break her own tension. "I see stairs now, leading down into ... a lower chamber. We can't get out the entrance, we have no choice".

Syn moved closer to Iella when the floor started to recede, he could feel the fear and tension from her as it did. He could hear the sounds around them while darting his head back and forth. The place had shifted and the scent of musky air came to his nose. Then he felt it as Iella spoke the floor beneath his feet and his senses narrowed he stayed with her near his arm while he slid the saber from his belt and felt the weight in his hand as he activated it with a snap hiss. The silvery blue light illuminating the dark while he spoke moving down with her. He couldn't see anymore signs for the moment of the white current. "I can understand now somewhat, when I used to explore the tombs on Korriban they were just as dangerous but never knew some of the trickery I have seen now."

@[member="Syn"]

As they walked side by side down the stairs, finally they came to a narrow corridor leading off into the darkness. The light from both sabers providing the way, the white and the blue blades forming a soft paler blue. There is no sign of anything save the grey walls, floor and ceiling of the corridor. Iella's heart raced, a horrible memory came back to her now, she hates confined spaces, and that cupboard. Her breathing became laboured with the overwhelming sense of it all. Sweat beaded on her brow and she began to shake. More trickery? as Syn had said. No.. this was another of her fears. She hesitated in her steps .. but she hates being weak, however with her free hand she reached out to Syn and for comfort took hold of his arm. The touch of him being there was enough to steady her a little. But she was getting angry with herself, Come on fight it!

She closed her eyes to remove the vision before her eyes and calmed herself by concentrating on the force and building it within her centre. The knot formed immediately, as it does now thanks to her self studies in the desert. Little by little she calmed and was able to use the gift given to her by Syn. The sight of her landscape through the force.

Just to lessen the pressure off herself, "I am using some trickery of my own", she even smiled slightly. At the end of the corridor, Iella sensed an opening, fresh air began to hit their faces and the coolness of the outside wrapped around them. They entered an area that looked like a sink hole, a rounded space where the ground had sunk. Iella opened her eyes and looked into it, they are half way up the wall of the sink hole with no way down expect to jump. Across the other side, streaming through a fracture in the rock face is a wide water fall, spilling into the sink hole to form a small lake, however the water does not fill the hole, but remains at a level, so it much travel underground. There is small islets within the lake, the only means across.

Syn took her hand when he felt it. A sliver of fear from Iella and he turned his head. He couldn't see they were in a confined space but he knew that was what it had to be. She had faced down and killed a large bug on Cathar he didn't think if there were small ones she would be afraid or angry over it. He moved with her and could feel her relax more it seemed have her muscles be less tense but he still kept a hold of her hand as he looked around in the area she led him into and the force became more vibrant. He looked around and could hear the rushing of the water while checking everything else. There was some more green shimmering along the sides while he gave a nod of his head. More illusions could mean a few things, either they were there for markers or someone had used them as a means to create a trap just in case. They would have to be careful. "There is some more scribed words over there by the source of the water."
