Faction A greater galaxy welcomed (GA Senate RP + Ambassadors)

Fondor, Senate Halls
The Alliance was a system that welcomed many, that ensured those worlds within them were taken into thought and cared for to the best of its ability. And while they were on the back foot, losing the last few campaigns against the Empire, there was still opportunity for more. The Alliance had become cut off from the greater galaxy, and now was the time for those individuals to be able to get to know more about the galaxy around them. To this end a policy had been offered to the Senate, and it would be this day that brought those worlds and nations into the halls of the Senate to see that policy pushed forward.

Ambassadors from some of the Galaxy's greatest nations were invited, given the chance to officially be welcomed and integrated in so that they might be witness to the Senate's decisions as well as interact with the Senators themselves. A risky venture, one that could see the Senate becoming influenced by external forces, but it was a venture that sought to ensure the Alliance has not forgotten its place in the Galactic Stage nor its duties. It had been formed to bring a voice to worlds who may have not had one, and while they had reclaimed the Core, they lost it once more and must remember their roots.

That was why in addition to those Ambassadors, non-member worlds could send their own observers, individuals now welcomed to take part in the future of the Alliance in small measure. Given the chance to bring to the Senate problems and requests for aid, a chance for them to approach future full membership, to drive the policy of the Alliance in a softer way than the Senators of the member worlds themselves might do so.

It was a step towards the future for the Alliance Senate, one they would either take advantage of and build new relationships and connections through, or would falter and fall because of it. This future now resting in the hands of the Senators who stood tall, and for those who may seek to become more than just Senator, to claim the seat of Chancellor when the term of Alicio Organa ended.

The clanking feet of four droids marching into the Senate Halls proceeded an echoing, rhymical, rasping of scale on floor. These droids were protocol droids by their humanoid appearance and apparent lack of weaponry. Their metallic bodies gleamed in the light as a looming shadow darkened them. A massive serpentine alien rose from the floor as it coiled itself higher and higher, its body seemingly never ending in as thirty feet of amethyst colored viperlike scales twisted over itself in opposite directions.

One of the droids motioned with both hands upward in greeting "Allow me to introduce the venerable Senator Emeritus of Eclipse Station, former Chair of the Senate Standing Committee on Galactic Infrastructure, Sponsor of the first bill to pass the Senate of the Galactic Alliance, Arbitrator of the Court of Tython, and honorable founder of the Abiding Precept Constabulary — Sssar Taszzn." the droid lowered its hands as the quartet shuffled backwards while bowing to more readily reveal the Filithar.

It had been quite sometime since Sssar had made a public appearance outside of a courtroom. Students of Senate history would know that his stances on Law & Order policies were considered controversial but there was no doubt to his durasteel resolve to see the Galactic Alliance persist through all tribulations. Sssar's unblinking eyes turned towards any others present as he silently observed them with a predatory gaze.

FONDOR

Objective: Meet other Senators.

Fal stood towering in the doorways of the Senate. The man gave a intimidating presence and was obviously in great shape, despite his height and despite the fact that any Jedi no matter how young or inexperienced could likely embattle and completely dumpster the man. It was for looks, only - as a life long politician and a young Senator, Fal Gore had no combat experience whatsoever. He had never served in the military nor had any prowess with the Jedi Arts. But he was a big guy, that much was for certain, and he knew how to wield his persona as part of his brand.

The firebrand of the Senate. The upstart. The aggressive, the violent. That was Fal's brand, he came from a violent, rebellious world. He came from a strategic, calculating people. And he was just a large dude with red eyes. Enough to intimidate most of these wormy, tongueing sycophants. Fal held a great resentment for most of his colleagues, thinking them all incompetent and unwilling. But he held it hidden behind a smile.

An award winning smile, with pearly whites flashing behind it.

He approached the droid-ridden Sssar Taszzn Sssar Taszzn in the hallways, on his way to his chamber, catching part of the introduction.

"The honorable Ssar, how nice to meet you."

Another flash of the smile.

"I have big ideas, great ideas on infrastructure, I'd love to pick your brains about when we have time. Come, may I walk you into the chambers?"

Marek Bancroft

Senator of Ord Mantell

Marek's presence within the halls of Fondor's Senate had been more frequent as of late. Several business interests had already been present, even before the fall of the Deep Core to the Imperials, but the recent surge of the Core's bureaucrats alongside an entire host of political dissidents and refugees had transformed the world into a far more bustling and chaotic center of administration to bear with.

There was a dystopian vibe to it all, if you'd asked him. The Senate was still attending to its duties as if the war effort against the Imperials wasn't going south, and there had been quiet talks of member worlds considering their interests over their long-standing memberships with the Alliance itself, in some parts of their borders. Nobody could predict the future to come; sweeping changes were bound to happen sooner than later, given the Chancellor's seat being up for election, and a war to be prosecuted without the Jedi there as support.

Yet even then, the wheels of bureaucracy would keep on turning until they fell off.

He found his way into one of the dozens of identical meeting rooms that were isolated from the areas open to civilian traffic. A knock followed his entrance as Marek's lips curled into a grin upon seeing his colleague already present. "It's been quite some time since we've met like this, Annasari." Marek extended his arm outwards to shake her hand before withdrawing it and seating himself at the table. "But unfortunately i've not arranged this meeting for a social call this time. I believe the Alliance is due for a paradigm shift in these trying times that we're currently facing. Member worlds may find it within their best interest to disregard solidarity with eachother, if things continue to get worse. Perhaps it's a bit unrealistic-- But I believe it is within our mutual interest to establish a new bloc within the senate, among member-worlds who wish to maintain solidarity with eachother, and provide mutual assistance should the Alliance reach a point where external support is...untenable, if you catch my drift."

“Is unrealistic the word for it?”

Pale eyes swept over Bancroft as Vahl joined him at the table. Jakku, since its membership admission, had been far from patriotic. Who could expect them to be? The vice chancellor had wielded fair representation as a weapon, stripping all meaning from the term. Time and time again, her world had found itself vulnerable when managers assailed their galactic north. They were no Corellia, with old wealth and military might - therefore they held a lesser place in this Alliance of equals.

Worse still were the terms organized that gathered many of their newcomers today. Annasari pulled them up on her data pad, shared them with her potential ally, an outline of the new ambassador and observer program. Disgust was evident in the hybrid’s features.

“The Starbird has always been cracked. They were only hidden behind a blinding light, and now that beacon dims. I could not blame the opportunists for seizing their moment. My Love for the charter fades further with every twist, as it grows further from its original intention. Federalism is a scary word. Galacticism is scarier. But not quite so terrifying as imperialism.”

The Guild stood a better chance throwing in their lot with free worlds than taking a page out of Tithe’s books and handing control over to the Empire.

"Oh, they redecorated." Dominique strode through the hallways of Fondor's Senate building, her golden eyes slowly taking it in. The Senate had been on Coruscant the last time she'd been there as one of those very Senators. Same world. Different Republic. Well, what could a corporate-minded woman do but carry through on seeking more amicable interests? All the same, the Denonite wondered if she liked their new decor or not, and whether it meant more than the eye candy had changed.

She was there as Director of Denon, officially. Unofficially she could act as an Ambassador for the High Republic; certainly nothing to stop that. No one had empowered her to be their official representative to the Galactic Alliance, however. Well, not that a Denonite let a little thing like proper protocol and law stop them. Rules for thee, but not for me and all that.

Yes, Denon was a very accepting world. Practically everyone in the galaxy was a welcome customer. Including the Galactic Alliance despite their... previous misgivings about Darkwire and the CorpSec response to it. Certainly a grand body of worlds like theirs required product and supplies like any other. Whether it was manufacturing it, mining it, procuring or otherwise distributing it then was nothing Denon could not do for them. For the right price.

“The Starbird has always been cracked. They were only hidden behind a blinding light, and now that beacon dims. I could not blame the opportunists for seizing their moment. Her words stung within the back of his head as they came out. Marek had never considered himself a Core loyalist of any sort, but he generally believed in the principles of the Alliance, and that its presence within the Core had stabilized the lives of trillions for the decades that it had existed. But he'd be a fool to outright deny the reality of her words, too. Where the Core had typically flourished under GA hegemony, the worlds of the Outer Rim, the Expansionist Region, and even some Mid-Rim worlds too, had suffered under the weight of bureaucratic ineptness time and time again.

"I'm a firm believer in the Alliance's right to not just exist, but to defend itself from Imperialist aggression." He began, pausing momentarily to consider how to frame his words correctly. "...But I do not believe that we are worthy of stewardship, should we not attempt to fix the problems that cause the inequalities, and the ineptness that led us to where we are today." He reached over to the drink decanter and poured a half-glass of brown liquor for both himself and his colleague. "I've never been within the camp of expanding our borders at all costs, nor does the war brought to our doorstep change my opinions on the matter either. The Core has always benefited off the hardships of the periphery...and it brings shame upon the Alliance to know that it took an Imperial invasion across the Deep Core to highlight the inequities of the system we preside."

Marek slid a datapad across the table. "That is why I wish to form a new bloc; One that aspires to mutual defense of the worlds in question, and through mutual interest of the planets in question, provides assistance in the form of interest-free loans of high-credit value and the deliverance of food aid as needed. Ord Mantell is in a prime position, given the predicted axes of advance in which the Imperials may continue their war effort. We have the ability, the know-how, and the resources to assist our friends...for mutual assistance in return in other avenues available."

The turbulent waters that had been laid before Bancroft were navigated impressively. He kept up with her implications without question and followed through with tempting offers. Once, the idea of surging in to worn torn worlds to offer credits that would never be paid back would have triggered a chuckle. Loan repayment had never been the name of the game, a concept she had come to understand. Sympathy, space, and influence went so much further than money.

“It would sit well with the media.” She observed, pouring over the offered screen. “And the tax breaks…”

Yes, there was potential here. A few taps changed her holoprojection to the current roster of Senate parties and highlighted notable representatives from each.

“Perception would be key. Bringing in the bleeding hearts, but ones that are pliable, would be a good move. We have plenty of those about. And… someone with long standing ties to the core. Their reputation could raise the platform.”

A scrutinizing gaze turned from the blue glow to Marek.

“What do you plan to call it?”

Marek nodded along solemnly, his eyes intently following his fellow Senator as she combed through the datapad containing the details of his proposition. "Perception will indeed be key, Senator." He would eventually chime in. "My tenure in the Senate is brand new in comparison to some of the more... entrenched veterans of our bureaucracy. You, on the other hand, have the tenure and the influence with those who may very well be swayed to our cause."

His hands intertwined on top of the table after another sip from the drink off to his side.

"I've workshopped a few different names..." He tapped his fingers on the desk, seemingly considering in real-time which one he'd settle on.

"...And I've settled upon referring to it as.." A smirk curled onto his lips. "The Coalition to Restore the Alliance. Or the Restoration Bloc, for short-hand."

Sssar looked down towards the tall unfamiliar man that approached him. Dipping his head in mutual respect he hissed back "It issss good to meet you assss well." though he did not know this man's name eventually he'd ask. Sssar's large head tilted quizzically at the proposition "Great ideassss issss what thissss Alliance needssss sssshould it wisssh to ssssurvive. I will walk with you, feel free to sssshare your idea."

With that Sssar's upper body moved down over his large coils to the floor as he began to slither slowly forward, each moment he lifted just a bit more of his body upright until he was about eye-level with his compatriot but not to out pace him in gait "One, begin catalogue." he murmured to one of the four protocol droids "As you wish sir. I will begin to annotate this meeting for future referral."

"Infrasssstructure is one of my great ambitionssss. Sssshould we have built more rocket rail and prisssson yardssss perhapssss our control on the core would not have sssslipped so eassssily from our grassssp." he made a brief verbal pause then asked "My mannerssss. Your name, ssssir?"
