A Gamble of mass proportions

Alyssa sat motionless in the cockpit of her container just barely taking small wisps of air every now and then. She was stowing away aboard a crimson hand cargo freighter hoping to get onto mustafar without being detected and subsequently vaporized. The ship entered the atmosphere and as soon as it broke through the black smog a sharp pain was felt in Alyssa's body.

The fear, the anger, the hate...the suffering on this planet they were so...strong. But as if that wasn't strange enough the darkness she felt didn't seem to come from the inhabitants alone like there was some, entity still residing its emotions on this barren world of cinder and ash. The ship touched down and as it did Alyssa collapsed in severe anguish.

"AHHHH! AUUUGH! What the heck is that?!"

The girl winced in pain as she covered her mouth and hoped to god no one heard her. It was times like this her strong connection to life itself wasn't helpful as she could hear and feel the emotions of those around her. Loading droids began taking the containers inside of the fortress Alyssa's anxiety levels rising exponentially. When she was taken inside she felt the pull of the dark side tugging at her and begging her to answer. Shes felt this power once before but at this level this....was unprecedented. She knew sneaking off Kashyyyk was wrong but she also knew confronting the dark side was right.

But that didn't change the fact she would most likely get quite the lecture when she returned. Troopers checked the bins for contraband and other illegal items at the gate....the gate she had to go through. Holy crap she was so dead, unless... She got to the door inside the bin and could feel the hundreds of troopers outside, fighting wasn't even in the question.

The trooper and opened the crate and show time was upon her if she failed she would be killed...or worse. She extended two fingers and waved them across the mans face.

"You will close the container...there is no discrepancy here."

A Mind trick. A risky and most likely futile gamble but it was all she had besides she had been practicing before hand on younglings...Hey! Who else would let her try that on them? Her mind was racing, Her heart was close to thrusting through her chest and her lungs were taking in more air than they could carry.

"I will close the container...there is no discrepancy here."

With that the trooper encased her inside the box and a sly grin took possession her her face as she sat back in her crate relieved with her new apparent skills. She entered the fortress immediately sensing the presence of another force wielder.

Mustafar was the center for one of the surviving remnants of the First Order, the Crimson Hand led by Kyrel Ren, He had managed to finalize construction on fortifications for the likes of Fortress Vader. Turbolaser towers, Air Defense Towers, Deflector Shields... Even a Garrison of First Imperial Stormtroopers. For the dark warlord, there was no rest, he had even recently brought his assassin droid back into the fold, with plans underway to construct a Droid Foundry within the Gahenn Plains to further replenish depleted manpower, and to make use of old Separatists designs he had uncovered dating back to the Clone Wars.

Now Kyrel had plans with so much at stake, he needed to focus his efforts on building the Hand, solidifying alliances such as the one with the Sith Empire, even as going as far as meeting the Sith Emperor personally a few times. More importantly, he needed to regroup and rebuild the Knights of Ren, he may have spent his life serving the Supreme Leader, but now that he had disappeared and without as so much a word of Decitus Ren. He felt as if he had a duty to his master's wishes even if all that he built was slowly dying. Meditating within the Sith Cave. The very heart of where the Dark Side lies. Drawing upon its strength it was as if he had felt closer in a way to the former dark lord of whom he was obsessed with. His own anger and pain were benefited from the empowerment he had gained within the ancient room.

Then as if had been so suddenly, his eyes snapped open, the quiet flaming sun colored eyes died back down to it's dark brown color as he had calmed himself momentarily. Sensing a tremor in the Force, Mustafar was world that had been steeped in the Dark Side, from the likes of the Sith and that of the Ren, but even he could sense when the Light was near, and if it had been as if a small flame had just ignited in the darkness of the rage and pain. Now the Master of Ren felt drawn to it, as if he was a moth to a flame. Getting up carefully, he wandered the halls, he had his mask removed for the moment, still covered in his Raiment of the Vigilant, Vader's Bane still dangled, still hooked to his belt his red cape billowed within the hot air that blew still walking the familiar obsidian halls.

Stopping for a moment, reaching out with the Force, he sensed the being that came to this place. But he did not know who it was, nor could still place a single thought on what it could be. Continuing on his path, towards the hanger he went until stopping to see what looked like a girl, in a familiar attire he had seen all too well. He was filled with silent rage, as he pulled out Vader's Bane Igniting the weapon in a hiss. It's crimson blade meeting to the floor. He looked at the girl, his yellow eyes once more a flame, asking in an inquisitive tone that couldn't hide it's venom as he raised his blade he asked. "Jedi, What are you doing here!?"

Alyssa wandered the jet black obsidian walls of the mysterious fortress she has entered guided only by the small flicker of light still within her body. The power of the dark side that resided within these corridors was draining even for someone who has been attuned to the darkness from a early age. The power the laid dormant within her grew exponentially fueled by the corruption that was this sickly place but this power wasn't pure it was of sinister origin. Her fear, anger, hate and sense of loss was beginning to take form as the presence she felt grew nearer and nearer to her location.

She gripped the hilt of her Cyan lightsaber cautiously feeling a sinking feeling of distraught rising over her shoulders. She twisted her body only to see a man writhing in anger rush towards her igniting a crimson blade. Her mind bobbled as she had a vision of a man missing several limbs burning away on what seemed t be a shore to a blazing inferno where there should be a serene ocean. The lightsaber in the mans hand felt oddly familiar as did his power. He looked like a Jedi acted like a Jedi and from what she could tell probably fought like one also.

While the power of the fortress was pure corruption his felt warped almost like it had been tainted by an unknown entity. Either way he seemed intent on killing her or something so she should probably stay focused. Alyssa ignited her cyan blade and took up a defensive stance, she could feel the blades power coursing through her it was more than a weapon it was her and herself was it. She looked at the man her yellow eyes moving as she did, She tried her best to sound older than she was as she spoke.

"Sith! In the name of the Jedi order....I hereby place you under arrest. I advise you to surrender I may not look like much but i am more than a formidable match for you!"

She needed a plan, She could try and take on whoever this was but was she really ready for such a challenge? It didn't matter she knew what she was getting into when she took this mission, She rushed at the man leaping into the air and slashing down at him as their blades met she looked him dead in his face and sent forth a force push hoping to create an opening for attack.

To see a child that looked no more than 15, proclaiming with a Cyan blade in her hands that in the name of the Jedi she is placing him under arrest. Apparently, she was either brave or stupid, Kyrel had faced many foes, some of which had fallen by his hands. To see a Padawan no less declare that she was arresting him, a smirk couldn't help but form in amusement. He hadn't encountered a Jedi with such spirit in trying to take him on, yet his blade was not unlike any other. She may think she had the advantage, but she would learn real quick that Kyrel was far beyond that of the Sith.

Vader's Bane had demanded blood in return for its power. It fed it's dark master anger, pure rage unlike that of any other and thus fueled his power, as she came rushing towards him. The crimson blade locked with her own blade, The smell of ionized air started to fill the room, as flashes of their blades kept going the more they locked blades. His armor with the exosuit underneath, he started to gain ground in the lock pushing his blade towards her body, before she broke the lock with a Force Push, knocking him a few feet back. He soon began his assault. Approaching with blade in hand he used heavy power attacks to gain ground. With the strength of his armor, he started to bat her blade side to side pushing her backward.

"I think not Child, I have killed many of your kind, perhaps you will die braver than most." He said his rage-fueled gaze starting into her's as he engaged in yet another blade lock.

Her resolve was weakening as strike after strike battered her defenses she used all of her strength just to not fall to the floor from the insane power this man was delivering. Her blade ricocheted from side to side until her blade met his in a saber lock. This proved too much for her as [member="Kyrel Ren"] pushed her towards the hangar wall sparks flying in her face, She couldn't help but turn away as his gaze met hers his rage filled eyes off setting her yet spiking her curiosity.

She felt inferior after seeing his skills in combat, He had to have been training for years before encountering herself. She closed her eyes and reached out into the force only to be stopped by the overwhelming feeling of the dark side pouring into her soul. She had to think of something but was at a loss and facing death until the embers from the spark of the light inside Kyrel connected with her giving a slight boost in willpower.

Alyssa slid under the man and kicked him in the back of the head from behind immediately after she utilized Makashi form and charged at the man not intending to break his guard but merely to put him off balance long enough to slice past his defenses. She cut at him from all angles delivering about 2 strikes a second until striking the wall behind the man enough times to where it was unstable. She outstretched her palm and brought down a pile of rocks on top of the man as she sprinted away leaping off walls and bouncing off the ground and ceiling.

She paced down the corridors only to find herself surrounded by first order patrol droids. She switched her form to Soresu attempting to deflect their shots but one managed to slide past and skin her arm, She groaned in mild pain as she leaped into the air and sliced 5 of the droids their fried cores dropping to the floor.

Kyrel kept eagerly pressing the blade lock upon the girl, his armor giving him the extra hand in trying to push into her with just his weapon hand. She must have no doubt been feeling the crippling dark side connection that was found from where they were standing. She would be corrupted soon, if she spends her time here. It was all the more satisfying, perhaps even more than just to kill her but to break her and watch her turn. He argued that such things weren't a bad idea, but first, he had to show her who knew power.

He felt off-put when she had released newfound strength, in attacking him sliding underneath him she kicked him on the head, which made him move a few steps forward when she launched a counter-attack utilizing Form II. He knew the form all too well, even parts were mixed into his very own form utilizing Ataru, Juyo, and Djem So. When she launched the attack, he toyed with her. Batting her blade from side to side before unleashing his own barrage of power attacks. Years of dueling had made encounters like these easy, but no opponent should be underestimated with.

Only for her to buy enough time to use the Force to bring about parts of the ceiling on him, he had raised one hand and started to stop the rocks. She began to run as he dropped the rocks, only to go after her as she ran down the dark corridors of the Fortress. Hearing the sounds of her saber, he saw that she was cutting through Patrol Droids, reaching out with the Force he attempted to freeze her in place. Approaching her slowly his saber still ignited.

Alyssa cut through droid after droid giving no hesitation in her strikes destroying about 7 of them until being suddenly stopped mid strike. Her body was incapable of moving, her force signature froze and even her thoughts were partially clouded. She tried to turn her head to see who the assailant was but it was of no avail her body was petrified. In the heat of battle a droid shot her in the abdomen almost fatally so as she dropped to the floor unconscious and not knowing what will happen next.

The dark warrior approached the girl, victorious in the short confrontation. She had proven that she was a capable warrior, but even he knew that she was limited in her training. While he himself had spent years honing his skills teaching himself and was strong enough to take on multiple Jedi Masters at a point in time. Yet even she couldn't withstand his attack with the Force. Her body froze unable to move as he had only kept her there with a mere thought to his mind.

The droids retreated back to their distance. Kyrel slowly came to the girl his lightsaber lowered. He felt nothing when it came to beating the Padawan, and knew that he would take great pleasure in having the child as a prisoner. Two troopers came to him, the lead one asking him. "Sir, what should we do with the intruder." Kyrel gave a moment of thought before replying, it was not the first time Jedi have wandered into Fortress Vader thinking they could defeat or withstand the darkness. He said coldly. "Bring her to the detention level, and let her rot in one of the cells. I have other matters I need to attend to and will deal with her later."

He said as the trooper nodded, both of the Stormtroopers grabbing her by the arms, Kyrel before turning on his heel and walking away, he pulled her saber to him sticking it on his belt for the time being. The troopers meanwhile took her to the notorious part of the fortress. The detention level was filled with a sense of dread when entering inside, for those that were once captured by the Empire suffered greatly in isolation as well as at the hands of Darth Vader. Now it seemed as if the Padawan would suffer the same fate as she was thrown into one of the cells, only the light of the red ray shield to keep the dark corridor illuminated.

Alyssa was dragged to the detention center kicking and screaming her impertinence taking its natural form. Her fighting stopped though when she entered the detention center, She could feel the pain and agony that prisoners endured in this chamber and sympathized with their plight. The deeper she entered the worse the feeling of dread became until her mouth gaped open and she began to have a revelation on the fate that was now hers unless she managed to escape.

The troopers through in the cell and her anger grew she could hear them snickering thinking less of her saying things like she won't even last 5 minutes or maybe Kyrel will go easy on her. Ridiculous. If they thought she was gonna wait in this cell for whatever awaits on on the outside comes they must be the dumbest creatures on the face of the galaxy. As Alyssa was making her plan she came to the realization that her saber was with the dark lord himself and it spiked her anger.

Her connection to her crystal was sacred and the bond they shared was quite honestly unnatural for a force user. When you build your lightsaber you create a natural force bond with your crystal but hers was different she created its power the crystal was idle until she infused a large part of herself into it causing its Cyan-Whiteish glow.

"Th sith.....they are scum....and i have to kill them....kill them all.....their going to die....every single one."

Kyrel slowly approached the dark corridor after several hours. He himself had captured and tortured many Jedi in the Fortress as had Vader once did long ago, and now it continued with him. The Padawan's Lightsaber was still clinging to his belt, like all Lightsabers it was unique in it's craftsmanship. Yet he wished that there was something more to the Padawan's skills. She had minimal training to stand against the likes of him, but admitted that she could hold her own for a few minutes. The corridors were dark, Vader would often leave the Prisoners to give into despair and hunger for days before even seeing them. But when it came to eight centuries of a strong dark side nexus standing. It wouldn't take long before a Force Sensitive would be corrupted by the dark side of the Force.

The last cell was that of the girl's. She was already giving into the darkness rising from within her. He didn't show his enjoyment only watching her from the ray shield that separated the two. "I sense the darkness rising from within you child. You wish to kill me don't you, you may think of me as Sith but you have no idea what you are dealing with. I offer you two choices child. Stay here and die, or give into your anger. Give into your hatred and I will offer you the chance to use that power to harness it. The Jedi are weak, you do not need to join them." He said pulling her saber from his belt, holding it up for her to see, as if he was taunting her.

Alyssa drowned in her sorrow inside of the fortress cell the pain and anger still residing within its walls. She had sat there for hours she was inside of an obsidian castle on a lava planet and yet she was still able to break into a cold sweat. She heard footsteps coming from down the hallway and with each stride, her distress grew exponentially. The man arrived at the door bringing his dark side energy with him, It emitted off him like the embers from a bonfire but she had been here for hours on end having no choice other than to let her fear and comprehension swallow her whole. The dark side was especially strong when your emotions did nothing but fuel the fire. She tried to calm herself to let her serenity take hold but it was useless the cloud of the dark side overshadowed her mind completely.

A familiar presence managed to pierce through the darkness as the unknown entity held out her lightsaber its hilt beckoning her even now. He was trying to enthrall her his words they spoke of honey but were from a venomous snake, His power was undoubtedly unmatched by her but it didn't matter she wouldn't betray the Jedi order under any circumstances if she dies here she dies a Jedi and there will be one more beacon of hope for others to remember and aspire to be.

"Sorry if I seem a little tense I typically don't perform well under the pressure of imminent death. But hey maybe if you came in here with me I might show you exactly what my anger can do. What is your name anyway brigand?"

Her voice was timider than she'd like but the fortresses power was wearing her resolve down she had no pre-cognition as to what was going to happen to her until she thought about the stories of Sith and Dark Jedi interrogation tactics, They were terrifying and she was reluctant about seeing them firsthand for herself.

"No, My answer is no but...um...exactly what are you...going to do."

[member="Kyrel Ren"]

Kyrel grinned as she remained defiant, not willing to accept the choice given to her. She seemed more inclined to reject the offer continuing to trust in her now dead Jedi Platitudes. With the shroud of the dark side rising over the galaxy in the years that had passed since the fall of the Galactic Alliance, and the end of the Great War. Even now as a Warlord of the fallen First Order. Kyrel did take enjoyment out of hunting down Jedi, imprisoning them, torturing them and finally executing them. With a young Padawan, she was not the first he had encountered, often killing many just like her or better yet corrupting them.

He kept her lightsaber close to him, even if she did manage to reach out, take her weapon and strike him down. He would have won regardless. The Dark Side nexus surrounding the Fortress would corrupt her within time. If not driving her to the dark side, better yet it would completely drive her to insanity nonetheless, Kyrel approached the door shutting off the Ray shield. A towering dark figure, as if he was a giant. Looking at her a grin behind that of his mask. He seemed pleased with the next set of words came from his lips.

"Things you can't even imagine, as for my name. I am Kyrel Ren, I am not Sith, not a Dark Jedi but something far more dangerous. You will find out soon enough. I will make you feel excruciating pain beyond what you have ever felt, you will die or you will give into your anger." He said as he used the Force to pull her to him taking her down the dark corridor to the Interrogation chamber, filled with deadly tools, and a chair similar to that of the old Galactic Empire filled with unique poisons and shockers to electrocute the prisoner before him.
