A Galaxy Passing You By [PM]

Jaken Spaceport and Market
Formerly, Imperial Super Star Destroyer Intimidator
17:30 Hours
There were several parts of Jaken which were abandoned and rarely explored by those who visited the Port, this place in particular was one of them – the smaller hangar bay towards the bow of the vessel that wasn’t quite buried as one would expect under Tash-Taral but wasn’t easily accessible for those who didn’t know the path. Over the months that Mira had been gone, she had shown a relatively small group of elders the path, perhaps for them to find peace and solitude in rough times – maybe for other purposes like meditation as some held the powers of the Force within them. Her reasoning was different today – today she was meeting a total stranger and she knew each and every exit. If this person – this girl was someone sent by the Sith, she’d make haste out of one of the vent shafts and back to 1313 where everything was nearly ready to go, and she’d be off this rock.

If the girl was a friendly – well, she’d have to cross that bridge when she came to it. It made Mira wonder how she was found, then again, her mother had her ways and no doubt didn’t have the courage to come here herself. Their last meeting didn’t go so well and was no doubt taken the wrong way. Aaralyn believed she had fallen to the dark side, rumors were swirling about her having fallen to the dark side in the form of some being named Malum – Mira had saw some footage from Fresia and other places when she looked it up. The being looked like her but was an entity that was the embodiment of hatred and insanity, nothing more. It was not Mira at all, but a clone, probably the failed results of [member="Darth Vornskr"] trying to mess with the Rekali family – as he had done for years.

Her small frame remained seated comfortably against one of the several large, unopened crates that seemed to decorate the interior of the hanger bay. They seemed to match the few mangled starships that had seen better days along with the small piles of sand and debris yet offset by the beams of fading sunlight. It was an odd sight but yet somehow peaceful considering it was an epic turning point in the war for the New Republic and the Remnants of the Galactic Empire. Mira had an alternate plan should her escape plan fail – several small booby traps to catch her up and leave her there. As bad as it sounded, Mira had to look after herself at this point – she had nothing left to fight for. She could hear the whispers through the Force, the girl was approaching and was awful quiet considering the fact that Mira didn’t want to be found.

As guarded as she was, she made no move for her sabers, instead – she remained motionless and calm – calling upon the Force to soothe her anxiety and focus on the girl and her possible intentions. She’d close her eyes and reach out, touching every corner of the hanger bay, breathing in deep and exhaling slowly. Each passing moment sent a visual ripple through her mind – allowing her senses to absorb the surrounding area – there was no one else – just the girl entering the bay. It didn’t take long for Mira to speak up, skipping introductions and outright speaking to her, remaining pressed against the large crates.

“Who are you…?” Her voice echoed across the distance between them.

Hunting.

Kaia was not a hunter, but Kaia did know a few people that might know where her target was. [member="Mira Gyndar"] had hung around with some of the so-called Brat Pack that was not clogging up the filling the Galactic Alliance. Many had come from the Covenant started by Aela, which had been Kaia’s home for a little bit of time as well. Now they were moving to Sullust and working to change the galaxy.

But with her father, she had to kind of help out. And a girl that was similar in age to her? That meant a lot! Kaia could help! And she was going to. But the first world she had to start at? One that she knew wasn’t the answer. Still, the pilot pressed on. And eventually made her way to the world of Tash-Taral. This world was important for the Starchaser. She met the man who helped teach her a bit, and got her lightsaber crystal. Now? Now she was here, looking for something.

For someone.

To rescue? Or at least connect with. Reconnect with? She knew the name, she knew who she was after, but still, Kaia could’ve been closer with her target. At least she wished.

“Me? No one.”

Subverted trailer quote.

"Just someone to bring you in from the rain."

Vaulkhar stood among small groups within the spaceport of Jaken. Since his departure from the One Sith, the young rogue had been on his own for the most part, dodging the Sith sent after him, always on the run, never quite safe. He was starting to grow tired of the running, that much was clear to him. But how to go about escaping from such a life was not; it was something he'd have to rectify. As the group he stood within began to disperse, he silently cursed to himself and moved sluggishly through market stalls, attempting to hide himself from any who'd be looking for him.

Garbed in a simple brown coat, with his hood drawn over his head, he highly doubted any would recognize him upon first glance, and likely impossible to find him. Unless of course a Force User traveled with them. That could always coax Vaulkhar from hiding and send him across the galaxy in a hasty retreat, but it was better not to think so negatively in regards to such a thing.

It was at that moment the young rogue stopped moving. Mid-step he froze and turned about, searching for what he could not see, but instead feel. To those nearby, he would simply appear to be a blind man, as his gaze was covered by a simple brown blindfold which hid his empty gaze. For indeed, Vaulkhar was blind, but he was still fully capable of seeing the world around him, just by less conventional means. And this very ability was what had picked up on the Force users nearby. At first, he simply felt their presence, which alerted him into stopping to better assess his surroundings. But it was then he saw an echo, a feint signature left behind in the force by someone who usually utilizes it; a force user.

Vaulkhar carefully considered his options at this point. He could either follow it to get the jump on whoever it led to, as a surprise attack would surely aid in his survival, or he could turn tail and run. But at this point, if they had spotted him or felt him, there'd likely be no escape. And he most certainly was tired of running. Taking a deep breath, the rogue moved to follow the feint outline left behind by the force user; [member="Kaia Starchaser"].

Mira opened her eyes as Kaia spoke, an eyebrow raising at the verbal exchange. “Rain?” She said curiously, pushing off the crate to face the other girl. “I’m afraid that is something we’re a bit lacking here in these parts, if you haven’t noticed.” She mused softly, waving her hand infront of her being. “You’re here because someone sent you…” Direct to the point, why dance around the basket of fruit when craving of sweet nectar hit the taste buds? There was no sense in doing that of course. Her hand would fall down to her side, touching the pommel of the Guardian as she sighed. “By the feel of things, you aren’t with the Sith, so I’m going to assume you’re with some good guys – am I in the right holoball park?”

Mira continued to remain tense – people these days couldn’t be trusted, not after Ilum. The Academy had no doubt done what they could to find her but there was a sense of betrayal that they hadn’t done enough – that no one had done enough.

Sure, Kaia Starchaser was a Jedi. Sort of. She was a Warden of the Sky. She had a knack for a fighting sense, she had a knack for astrogation, and was working on finding a way to alter local gravity, create a way to bend space. Her father was a student of the Aing-Tii, she was just… Kaia. And liked learning new tricks. And trying to use the Force in new ways. She had a lot of time aboard her ship to entertain herself, and sometimes? That meant playing with the Force.

But her sense skills were severely lacking. She got overwhelmed on planets. Ice worlds, desert worlds, those were fine, life wasn’t always around. This one? It was nice, quiet. But still, her attention was elsewhere, so she wouldn’t notice her stalker until it was absolutely necessary. Starchasers were pretty awesome, because unlike most Forcers on this site, they were stunted.

It made them creative and it made them weak, which made them strong.

When Mira spoke, Kaia couldn’t help but smile. She pulled one of the clothes away from her face. “Its nice, rain, and the desert. A nice smell.” She hated being on planets, but there were certain things she didn’t mind.

“I think we’re the good guys. My father sent me, apparently someone is looking for you. And they want you to come back to the galaxy.” And the winning side. New kids on the block, and all that.

As soon as Kaia pulled the cloth back from her face to reveal her features, Mira recognized the face – but couldn’t place her name. She shifted uncomfortably, now both hands resting on each lightsaber respectively as she looked to the side. For a moment, there was a stinging sensation that rippled through her chest – a reminder of what she tried to escape, but it would soon subside. No matter how far she ran, they would always find her, this was evident. She’d shake her head softly and look back to Kaia before her right hand raised to gesture to her. “The Covenant I assume, or wait – no - It’s my mother isn’t it?” It was a dumb question, but maybe there was something else to it all. She waved her hand before her and started moving closer to Kaia, stepping carefully between pieces of debris, as to avoid obvious traps that she placed to ensnare unwanted individuals.

“There was a time, when I would have rejected whatever you’re about to tell me and argued about the loss of my eye to [member="Darth Vornskr"] and how no one came looking for me while I rotted away in the cells on Panatha.” She stopped a few meters short of the other girl before her hand lowered and she shrugged. “But I’m not one to wallow in self-pity and I realize that the Force has it’s own way of directing us down a path.” She heaved one more sigh before letting off a chortle of sorts. Her cybernetic eye adjusted, her gaze adjusting to the front of the hanger bay. “I guess I could only ask…” The garnet colored stare would fixate itself upon the visage of Kaia once more, looking her up and down – a smile slowly creeping up on her lips.

“What took you guys so long?”

Vaulkhar moved throughout the rubble of this part of the spaceport. It seem untraveled and unwanted, left to rot away in destruction by whoever or whatever governed the spaceport. Rather odd, considering this could of easily been cleared away and utilized for more trade; which in turn would of brought more money to the spaceport. Such simple things were what determined how successful one would actually end up. Yet here he was, navigating through the debris. Following the trail of this force user was easy for him, considering his aptitude for the force sight ability due to his lifelong training. Vaulkhar continued to follow the trail, a smile forming as he began to close in on whoever he was following, considering it was growing stronger.

But that was when he stopped.

It was as he turned a corner and stopped mid-step. He picked up the signature of yet another force user, and similar to the one he had been following as well as his own, it was not that much different from his. Peeking his head around a pile of trash, he looked about. Spotting another empty passageway with rubble strewn about, he began to move down it. The sound of nearby voices drifted to his ears and he nodded softly. Though they were not familiar, they were not someone he would have to fear. He knew many within the One Sith, and none of them carried such an aura within the Force. Coming around another rubble pile, he simply stepped out from behind it to gaze upon the two through the force.

"Hope I'm not interrupting anything." His blindfolded gaze moved back and forth between the both of them and he straightened. This was a dumb idea. He could of returned to the Spaceport and left. No imperials means an easy time out of there, yet he felt drawn to these two. Something about them made him want to interact with them, but what it was, he could not determine. A leap of faith was what was required in this situation, and he most certainly took it. After a moment he just smiled, though awkwardly due to the entire situation.

Mira blinked a few times at the newcomer, a ripple through the Force caused her to stir where she stood. She adjusted herself accordingly, looking over at the man before her eyes shifted to [member="Kaia Starchaser"], gesturing between them. “Not at all, depending on your intentions of course.” Intentions weren’t defined given the ripple she felt through the Force – one that caused her to shiver. She felt that before, no, she bathed in that sensation when she slept in the bowels of hell that was [member="Darth Vornskr"]’s castle. The aura of darkness surrounded this guy, whoever he was, maybe it wasn’t as strong as she thought – but it was there for sure. Could it just be someone who had once been tainted by such a stain as the dark side and left to see the light? Or someone who didn’t exactly know how to hide their presence within the Force…?

Who knew anymore?

The Galaxy had not changed a bit in the time she had holed herself up on Tash-Taral, and she was prepared for it either way. She kept herself guarded, emotionally and physically – adjusting her hands as to place them both now upon the very core of the hilts that adorned her waist. A very subtle and casual adjustment but one that would signal to the careful eye that she was becoming very uncomfortable with the situation at hand. She swallowed a bit harder than before as she looked back to Kaia and nodded. “You were saying what took you so long?”

[member="Vaulkhar"]

Kaia was a bit of an oddity. She enjoyed exploration, but only so far that it didn’t get her dirty. Flying around, running trips from planet to planet, and finding new routes between worlds? Those were her ideas of exploring. Protecting people from the forces of darkness (not unlike The Slayer) were her ideas of a good time. This bit of looking to find someone? That was something else. She could help bring Mira back home, for the Covenant, for Mira’s mother, for Kaia’s own father… And the Alliance.

The trick of it was, they had company, now. She looked over, and her hand quickly found her lightsaber. She stepped so she had a clear view of Mira and this newcomer. Kaia didn’t like things taking her by surprise, and she didn’t have her sniper rifle, so that meant lightsaber time.

But she wasn’t even that good with that. Could she get to her fighter? Probably not in time. “What took me so long? I wasn’t ever sure what happened. I’m not always on a planet. I was running supplies a lot. What brings me here now is that your mother is calling. Its time to come home for dinner.” Home here, being Sullust.

Luckily for Vaulkhar, these two young women were entirely alright with a strange man who was dripping with the dark side approaching them out of thin air. Well, kinda, but that wasn't the point. The fact they continued on with their conversation, almost entirely ignoring the man, it was quite alright with him. Finding a rather peaceful situation, Vaulkhar lowered himself into a sitting position on some of the rubble. He crossed his legs and simply listened to the two of them. It had been awhile since he's been able to just sit down and relax in such a manner. It was nice. Though it was probably really creepy.
"So.... What is everyone doing here this day?"
