A Dose of Pessimism...

Lifelong Nerd, Roleplayer, Writer and Philosopher
For this one, feel free to discuss anything (daily life, movies, worldbuilding, philosophies, etc.) pessimistic, and/or point out whatever inconvenient truths to anyone else that you feel like sharing! Be as sarcastic as you want, but as civil as possible!

And, of course, let me start things:

99.9% of actors (as well as writers, artists, etc. on a professional level) were only in this franchise (or any franchise, for that matter) for the money (I'm not opposed to making money, as we all need it, but inherent interest is vastly more important if one is going to enjoy anything), with the sole exceptions of Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee, the latter of whom got involved in Star Wars in loving memory of Cushing, a dear friend of his. However, everyone else in the original trilogy was only involved for the sake of $; they have no passion and care for the story, no matter what they might say in interviews - it's all PR stunts outside of the worldbuilding and the fandoms, boys and girls!

Both Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford would CONSTANTLY bully George Lucas on the set of Episode IV, and he went through absolute hell to craft what we all know and love today... Long story short, people aren't as nice as they may seem, and they tend to exploit you all the more easily in the quest for fame...

An inconvenient truth.
