SITH SPACE
ON THE WAY BACK TO CIS SPACE

Dantooine had been absolute chaos.

She still could not believe she had put a foot on Sith ground and lived to tell the tale. Her entire time during the battle, she felt like she had a giant target on her back. But she had gotten off that bumpkin piece of rock still intact.

Her fighter had been on the Hell Hound when they had arrived with Luna Terrik Luna Terrik on Dantooine. So she was now scouting ahead of the dreadnought with some other squadrons to assure that they had a New Imperial-free route back to the Confederacy.

She finally had some peace and quiet. Lars had already freaked out on her with his binary chirps and bleeps. Now his sensors were running along with the fighter's.
"See anything, buddy?" she finally asked. The astromech was the one thing that received affection of any kind from her. He had been one constant in her entire life with both the Sith and now the Confederacy.
The answer that was chirped was negative, which made her frown. Did the Sith not patrol anymore?

She had been sweeping through space on her own for a while, lost in all manner of thoughts, when Lars' alarmed whoop cut through the silence. A large blip appeared on the scans. Before long, a dreadnought came into view. Lars was bleeping like mad.
"Are you sure it's Sith?" she asked, yet she didn't have to. She could feel the Darkness within it. Her heart was in her throat, as it could go one way or another.

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
Oh, it was definitely Sith. And the Sith within their meditation chambers had already sensed the presence of a Darksider on board the ship, informing the bridge crew - who scanned the vessel and identified it as belonging to a traitor to the Sith Empire. Treason countermanded the fact that the vessel possessed CIS codes - so it was that the Sith would focus their efforts on snaring the vessel with the Force. There was no point in using a tractor beam when you had the Dark Side in your possession.

"Unidentified vessel, this is the Sith dreadnought Gorgon. Power down your systems and prepare to be boarded."

Hopefully there really was a traitor on board. That would make this so much more interesting.

Dantooine had been a nightmare of epic proportions, and it would have been worse had Gerwald not been able to convince Prazutis to keep the evil at bay. The Sith had been intent on unleashing a beast that would have consumed everything, destroyed everything, and the lupine could not let that happen. He had seen the devastation which it would have caused first hand on Naalol. Gerwald had been willing to make a profoundly personal sacrifice in an attempt to keep another like it from passing through a weakened veil. He had failed then, and was relieved Prazutis had listened to him.
Gerwald was resting. His eyes were closed, though his mind was extended to another. Lavria Xedrim was on patrol, and considering her past with the Sith, the Master Knight had wanted to ensure she would be safe. There would be those that may wish to do her harm, and Gerwald would not let that happen if he could avoid it. He knew what tortures the Sith were capable of, and Gerwald would not not wish that on anyone.
She was Metus' apprentice, and he would not see anything come to her even at that. How would Gerwald explain misplacing the apprentice of the Vicelord of the entire Confederacy. It would not happen.
<<"You seem tense,">> he pressed into her mind. <<"Relax your mind, we will be back to Confederate space soon enough."

Gerwald's thoughts found their way into her mind.

He had just told her to relax when the Dreadnought had come into view.
We have company, she sent the thought back to him just as the Destroyer hailed her with the order to power down.

Kark.

Her mind raced. Would she be able to outfly the lasers? Probably. But the squadrons that they will send after her, might become a problem. The Hell Hound was too far away to reach before she was shot down.

Her hands clenched around the steering as she tried centering herself. She failed miserably, and this caused her inner Darkness to go haywire. Whether it was a good or bad thing, Lavria would never know, but at that moment Lars' chirping penetrated her thoughts before he powered down the fighter.
"Lars....what have you done?" she asked her droid, quite shocked.

Lars bleeped apologetically as a tractor beam latched onto the fighter to start pulling them into the Dreadnought.
"I have a bad feeling about this." the young Zabrak told him. "If you can get a transmission out to the Hell Hound, then do it." Any thought of communicating psychically was out of her mind.

Lavria had very rarely been afraid in her life, as she could harness Darkness itself. But now, she was truly afraid. She knew very well what the Sith did to those who murdered their own before deserting. And her being stupid enough to fly a stolen vessel in the owner's space had probably cemented her lot. She had no idea who was on board yet. All she could do was hope that Gerwald would bring the cavalry in time.

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
As the stolen Sith fighter was brought into the hangar bay of the dreadnought, the doors to the hangar began to close. Once the ship was in, they were once more sealed as a sextet of crimson-armored bloodtroopers surrounded the shuttle, the elite of Vanessa's elite activating their energy shields, their lightsabers drawn. A seething smoke seemed to seep from between the floorplates of the hangar, coalescing into Vanessa's form as it stood before the fighter.

"Get out. If your hand touches a weapon, you will lose it." She motioned for one of the bloodtroopers to make a move to remove the droid from the fighter - it would be dismantled so Vanessa could get a copy made of its memory core before being reassembled.

Her heart thrummed in her throat as the fighter thudded to the ground, now enclosed in the hangar.

Lars let out a whimper as troops clad in red armour, surrounded their fighter in an instant. That tiny little, binary whimper broke through Lavria's fear. She never considered anyone family, as she was taken away from her real one at a very young age, but she considered the droid as good as family to her. They had been in some tight spots together before and had gotten each other out of it. They'd do it again.

She had just opened the airlock when a specter materialised into corporeal form that seemed faintly familiar to Lavria. The young Zabrak recalled the face in front of her from once before - a Circle on Metalorn. It felt like ages ago that her now deceased Master had dragged her along to that powwow where the Triumvir of Power had called them to moot. Not that she knew this lady's name, however.

The very obviously a Sith Lord had given her an order, which Lavria would have complied to, however reluctantly, were it not for the woman's following action. A trooper was motioned toward Lars, who could not shrink away much further in his socket anymore.

And that peeved the young firebrand right off.

As the bloodtrooper approached Lars, Lavria launched a powerful Force Push at him, sending him flying. She was out of the fighter in an instant, drawing on the Darkness that now completely surrounded her.
"I don't need lightsabers to kill the lot of you. Keep your hands off my droid." she sneered at all of them, dropping low and keeping the Force close to her as she stood protectively in front of Lars, where he still sat in his socket. She knew what the bloodtroopers were, but she did not care. She then looked at the Sith Lord, yellow eyes glowing. "Why am I here?" she snapped at her.

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
Vanessa stood in silence as she watched the response of Lavria towards the bloodtroopers in question. As the one was forced back, rolling backwards before returning to a standing position, Vanessa popped her fingers. “Lavria, you are guilty of treason against the Sith Empire for abandoning your loyalties to us, as well as theft of Sith property.” She looked over at the fighter in question whose identification codes had indicated its being stolen. “I have an entire world’s worth of the finest soldiers in the Empire as well as my own power. Surrender, and your life as well as that of your droid will be spared. Continue to resist and there will be nothing left of you but ashes. I will also personally dismantle and scrap each individual part of your droid and force your bound spirit to watch.”

The threat was extremely aggressive, but a deliberate one. Having watched the conflict at Dantooine unfold into a victory over the New Imperial traitors, Vanessa’s ship was more than prepared to fight against any traitors or perceived traitors, men, women, and droids.

Many things happened at once. Lavira not returning was one of them.
"Frak."
The expletive was one which Gerwald did not use often. It likely would not have been used had the woman perished, but instead the reports were already flashing on his comm that she had been captured. As a Knight Obsidian, that made her rescue his responsibility.
Gerwald pressed the comm device and reached out to the captain.
"Cloak the ship and track the captured fighter."
The order had been simple enough to follow, and Gerwald was soon on his way to finding the missing Knight. Naturally he would have to figure out how to get onto the ship which held her captive.
"They will detect the breach as soon as we make it, so be ready to defend this position until I return."
With a nod, Gerwald walked through the hole they had blasted into the hull. Locking his mind on the location of his charge. Darth Metus was not going to be happy if Gerwald did not return with her. His goal was to move undetected... hoping that his presence would be masked as he used the force to mute it.
<<"Where are you,">> his mind pressed into hers. <<"Show me your surroundings.>>
Gerwald continued toward the aura he had locked on. As soon as he knew what he was facing, Gerwald would make his move.
