A Chance of A Lifetime

He never thought it would happen. From the time he had joined the Sith Order, Krayzen had never believed that he would get summoned by someone within high standing in the Sith Order. The Anzat had always believed that he would have to train himself to get to Sith Knight, and from then on, choose the path that he wanted to be. From the time he joined the Order, Krayzen knew that he wanted to be an unconventional Sith Warrior, using a hybrid of physical augmentation, and mental attacks to be able to overwhelm his opponent. His time in the Zeison Sha over a century ago had made him focus more on the physical aspects, but Krayzen knew that his Anzati gifts, including his natural telepathy would give him an advantage if he were to go focus on the mental aspects of the force.

For the first time in a long time, his arrogance was not something that shielded him. The young(at least in Anzati standards) Sith Acolyte wondered why he had been summoned by the Sith Lord. Was he in trouble? Had he gained attention for beating a Rogue Master in combat? Was he going to be given an opportunity to gain prestige in the Sith Order? Did he have a new mission? This were some of the questions that were ravaging his mind, making him wonder why he had truly been summoned.

As he walked in the Sith Temple on Coruscant, he could hear the frequent lightning strikes that could be heard from a mile away. Must be what happens when a planet's a dark side nexus he thought for a slight moment, the thousands of questions in his mind going away for only a second. Krayzen had never really thought about it, but his thought reminded him of the fact that he was in one of the most powerful dark side nexus in the galaxy. The frequent waves of dark side energy was something that he found to be one of his more favorite things while in the Coruscant temple.

The air was as hot as usual, something you would expect when thousands of people were in a building. He knew that the air was difficult for some to breath, but having lived in Yanibar, a deserted desert planet made him more or less used to this type of temperature, and environment. Krayzen could see that as he advanced to the Sith Lord's quarters, in the upper levels of the academy, the colors changed from a slight red to a more reddish color that was similar to a ruby. He always wondered why it was like that.

When the Anzat finally reached the upper level that was associated with the most powerful dark-siders in the Order, specifically the Sith Lords, he so multiple crimson guards guard the entrance. "Halt; acolytes are not allowed to enter this levels of the Sith Academy." one guard stated in a vemenous tone. For a slight instance, Krayzen smirked; he had always wanted to prove some of the elite guards wrong. "This datapad specifically signed over here states I am allowed to enter this level, as I have been summoned." u he replied quickly, as he pointed at a specific part of the datapad. The guard then stood back, and let Krayzen in.

After a few seconds, Krayzen quickly identified the quarters of the Sith Lord. He swallowed his spit, nervous as to why he had been summoned. The Anzat however tried to rap that nervousness away in the deepest areas of his mind. The former Zeison Sha warrior entered the quarters, the dark side ripples emitting from the Dark Lord reminding Krayzen who he was standing with. In a quick manner, the Anzat respectfully bowed down, one of his knees touching the floor as he slowly -and respectfully- stated: "My Lord."

Taller than he, and clearly older in some respects, the Acolyte that knelt before him was something of an enigma. The Anzati have always been a dangerous, long-lived race, the Sith Lord reflected, turning from where he had been standing to observe the new arrival that had so brazenly ushered himself within his private quarters. That the guards had allowed him to pass was of little concern - any Sith of decent training should be able to effectively bypass that barrier, whether with subtlety and guile, with brute force, or with permission of one within. This one carries the latter, but it might have been interesting to see if he might achieve the same with the former. A test for another time, perhaps.

"You needn't kneel any further," he said, waving the other being to his feet with a simple gesture. Though obedience was appropriate in other Sith, it was something designed to demean and humiliate as much as it was to establish respect within their hierarchy, and a clear chain of command. We teach them this so that they might understand their place in the grand scheme of things, though it naturally creates ambition - those who sit at the very bottom of the pyramid will always seek to ascend to the pinnacle. "Submission has its uses, but you should feel free to offer candid opinion here," Tirdarius remarked, turning away from the Acolyte once more.

Before him was a large transparisteel viewport, looking down upon the cityscape of that vast ecumenopolis that was Coruscant: a bustling planet full of people and the activity that they might bring. So many thoughts, feelings and aspirations present here, the intermingled psyche of billions of people. It was this that made the Dark Side so strongly present on this world: not merely the constant cycle of death and renewal that existed here, but the mass of feeling that weaved together to form something far stronger. This is why emotion is strength, among the Sith: for, without it, that power simply washes away, left untapped.

The shadows had rapidly gathered as another thunderstorm rolled in. The weather control satellites that hovered far above the planetary stratosphere were not in use as much now as they once had been, when a different power had ruled this world. The Sith preferred nature more than the artificial constructs that made up this planet, and thus had settled for the compromise of restoring a more natural weather cycle. The sheets of rain that lashed down and struck firmly against the viewport felt very reminiscent of Dromund Kaas, representing the true strength that existed in raw nature, absent the control that held it back. For why should it be restrained, when so few of our number care to be?

"I trust you understand why you have been summoned?", the Sith Lord asked in rhetorical fashion, knowing well enough what his reasons were. That, however, was not the point of the exercise: he could well imagine the thoughts building up in the Acolyte's head, speculating on the summons and the reasons for which it might have been delivered. Such a tempestuous circle, to have both hope and fear weaved into a simple question, he thought. Perhaps the Anzati had been brought here to be punished, to be rebuked for his actions, or perhaps to be elevated and empowered. "What is it you imagine has brought you here?"

When Krayzen heard Tirdarius state that he didn't need to kneel any further, Krayzen stood up in a quick, but respectable fashion. He then heard him continue to speak, and ask the important question of why Krayzen had been summoned.

Truthfully, Krayzen wasn't aware of why he was summoned. He knew that him being punished was most likely out of the question, mostly because he had not done anything to annoy the Sith overseers; additionally, the Anzat also knew that him being summoned because he beat a Rogue Master was also out of the question as well. He observed the surroundings, and he didn't see any other datapad, or anything that might relate to him being given a mission, so that was not a factor in Krayzen being summoned. That lead Krayzen to believe that he was being offered a chance to rise among the ranks of the Sith, a chance to gain influence, and power within the Order.

Two seconds after Tirdarius' last statement, Krayzen responded by saying "I am being offered a chance to rise among the Sith, by training under you." he carefully stated, bracing himself for a punishment if he were wrong.
