A bored Zorren. (Thurion)

Soran sat on [member="Thurion Heavenshield"]'s shoulders with the biggest smile of the day on his face, panting. He'd decided he'd liked Thurion. Definitely. A lot. With his tail going a mile a minute, hitting Thurion's shoulder every once in awhile, Soran looked down at his new master's face and shook his head rapidly. Bored? He'd never had this much fun in his life! If only his parents were here... A flicker of sadness appeared on Soran's face, but only for a moment, quickly replaced by a happy smile again. They'd be back. And he had Thurion! After a minute of happy silence, Soran spoke up, remembering his earlier questions. "Sooo.... You're a knight? Like in the stories? Do you have a sword? Do you fight Krayt Dragons?" Soran looked down, perched on his shoulders, with wide eyes and a smile to match.

He chuckled at the boy's words. "I was a knight once, yes. I travelled the galaxy and saw many things, some good and some bad, and I had quite a few adventures along the way. But that was some years ago, now. When I returned home I was made Jedi Master, which is like the wise old mentor in all the holovids, you know?" He chuckled more at the thought of him as an old, bearded hermit living in a swamp somewhere and have young aspiring heroes seek him out for training. Well, at least he already had the beard.

"I've never fought a Krayt Dragon, I'm afraid. Although there was this time me and my father defeated a dragon-like creature on a planet called Midvinter." He felt the wagging tail of Soran's brush against his shoulders with each step, telling him of the boy's enjoyment.

Soran's eyes widened with excitement at practically every word. He really is a knight! Or he was... And now he was a Master... It was just like a story! Some young hero- the thought of himself as a Hero made Soran smile- taught by an old Knight-turned-teacher! His tail was practically a blur of motion. And he'd even fought a dragon! Sort of. He wasn't sure what Midvinter was... But that wasn't really important right now. He was talking to a real Knight out of a storybook, or holovid! And if it was like a story...

"Sooooo... When can I learn how to make rocks fly around?"

[member="Thurion Heavenshield"]

They'd reached the stone-carved steps leading up to the entrance of the temple itself when he put the boy back down on the ground and knelt down to look him in the eyes and put a hand on his shoulder. "One day, when you're ready", he said smiling. "One day, you'll be a great Jedi, Soran. But it'll take time and patience. The 'time' part comes easy - it's the other part that's hard to achieve."

He gave the boy a pat on the shoulder before gently pulling him into a warm hug between master and apprentice. "Now go on, better get some supper before bedtime. You wouldn't wanna miss out on the chance of growing up to be as big and strong as me, would you?" he jested as he rose to his feet.

[member="Soran Kron"]

Soran frowned at the 'patience bit'. Patient? He didn't want to be patient... He wanted to be able to do what [member="Thurion Heavenshield"] could do! He was about to complain when Thurion said the bit about being as big and strong as he was. The young Zorren's eyes widened a little, as he looked up and down the tall Jedi Master in front of him. A quick spin around later, and Soran was running at full speed off to get some supper.

(A fun thread. :D)
