"Good Feelings"

The young Jedi lifted her head up after awakening from a nap. She sat up straight in her seat. Her transport was passing in the civilian travel lane above Nar Shaddaa, as it descended down to the planet below.

She was traveling on a civilian transport, an Old Republic refugee ship. The deck she was currently on, F Deck, was completely packed and crammed. Luckily she was sitting in one of the more open spaces. Still, there were travelers and people all around. She didn't want to take a more expensive transport, mostly because she couldn't afford or didn't want to waste the low amount of credits she did have. She could have gotten credits out of her family's many financial accounts, but she didn't want to take credits out of those for a simple journey such as this.

"Exiting Hyperspace, Welcome to Nar Shaddaa". The droid over the ship's intercom spoke to inform the passengers. "We will be landing at Platform U738". "Estimated time till arrival, 20 minutes".

She was wearing her black scarf which was now over her head, acting as a hood to cover her face. She had grabbed a brown poncho back on Commenor, which covered her typical black clothing, and her lightsaber.

As she sat back in her seat to rest while the ship landed, a little Rodian child rumbled and tumbled on the floor in front of her feet. The little one looked up and Himalia smiled back at him. He must have been 3 or 4 at the most. He looked up in awe at her, and soon she knew why. He could see her lightsaber, up through the middle of her cloak. His little mouth opened wide. She gave him a little
"Ssshhh" and placed her finger over her lips as she smiled at him again. He soon stood up and ran back over to his family or whoever he was with. Minutes later, the ship reached the planet surface. Himalia had been here once, with one of her masters from Tython, but they only went to the Promenade and saw little else of the planet. She looked up above her to the Holoscreen within the ship showing where Platform U738 was. The Refugee Sector. She had to be at entrance to the Corellian Sector in less than 15 minutes.

The Mission, Yes the Mission, she now remembered. She was tasked with technically 2 missions, but both were on Nar Shaddaa. The first part was to go to the Duros Sector and investigate a species trafficker, who was known as "The Slicer", whose real name was apparently Jaikel Seabhor. Oddly however, his species had not been identified, nor his age, appearance, or social information. All Silver intelligence could get her was the title he had earned and his apparent real name. She was given a couple of contacts that knew more of him. The only other thing she was given of this horrible person, was his reputation. He was called the Slicer, because his trafficked victims almost always had a either an appendage or a entire limb sliced off when they were brought to their new "owners". Himalia would enjoy hunting such filth. She thought to herself that he wouldn't have lasted a day on Balmorra, surely her people would smell the rat. But this wasn't Balmorra, this was Nar Shaddaa, where most here would sell you out without a second thought if it meant getting credits. Luckily for her, she wouldn't have to do this alone either. The Assembly had sent a fellow Padawan, a Togrutan named Kuxirra Tano-Bonteri Kuxirra Tano-Bonteri to assist her. They also stated to Himalia, that this Jedi could use a fellow Padawan who was bit more older and experienced and quite friendly as well. Himalia definitely fit that mold. As for the second mission, she would think about that later, it was less important than the first.

She couldn't help think that mission could be a bit too much for two Padawans. It was known that the Slicer had many important and powerful friends on Nar Shaddaa, even rumored to have a Hutt in his pocket. After all, she had only been given the mission after the Jedi who was supposed to do it, Jedi Knight Kazsk Morno Kazsk Morno , informed the Assembly that he was held up. No matter, she would do an even better job than the Masters thought.

All of this went through her head, preparing herself for the mission ahead, as the transport finally landed on the platform in refugee sector's many rundown spaceports.

Himalia stood up out of her seat and made her way through the crowd as the ship began to empty. By the time she made it out, she reached down to check...............yep, she still had her saber. Just to make sure. She stepped out of the ship and looked back out of the hangar to the open skyline of Nar Shaddaa.

She moved through the massive crowd exiting the ship and split off to another exit in the spaceport, which would take her to the Corellian Sector. She would be on time, she just hoped that her fellow paddie would be there too.

The first contact was located at The Bellyfish, a lowly cantina in the
Duros Sector. The meeting spot for her and her peer was at a terminal right next to the access hallway that linked the Corellian Sector to the Refugee Sector and its spaceports. As she made it to the end of the entrance, she entered the Corellian Sector and walked several feet to the nearby terminal. She now put her head on a swivel to see if she could spot her Togrutan companion.

Himalia had her head down, gazing at the ground. Her arms crossed, feet together, back leaning against a wall. Her mind was focusing on her memories, specifically on her parents and they life she had with them until their deaths.

As she tilted her head up a bit, she could feel a peaceful presence in the force, a friend perhaps.

She was proven right, as a Togrutan could be seen walking towards her.

Himalia straightened her back and dropped her arms to her side.

As the girl approached, she prepared to introduce herself, but the Togrutan responded first.

"Himalia Tavers? I'm Kuxirra Tano-Bonteri."

Himalia gave her a kind grin and responded, "Ah, nice to meet you Kuxirra, I'm Himalia".

Several creepy men walked by, gawking at the two of them. Some even looked like they were licking their lips as they passed. And this wasn't even the bad part of town. The Corellian Sector had most of the Casinos and trendy cantinas on Nar Shaddaa. It attracted all walks of life. Because of the Casinos, it had become known especially for it gambling. Many galactic millionaires have become broke after spending just one night in the Corellian Sector. Others are luckier and become millionaires themselves.

Himalia gave the men a death stare and scowl, telling them to back off, but most just gave creepy grins and kept on walking. If she wasn't trying to be quiet and not start a scene, she would have at least shown them that she was Jedi, then they would back off. There was no time for that however.

Himalia turned back to Kuxirra, "Men here are gross, Ugghhh", she said in a disgusted tone.

"Come on, lets get going".

The two of them started to walk down the crowded congested streets, Himalia stayed right in front of her Togrutan companion, making sure she stayed close behind. She turned a sharp left off a corner down an alleyway and gestured to Kuxirra for to come down the alley with her, Himalia had a question to ask her.

When Kuxirra reached her, Himalia asked, "Did the Assembly tell you about our mission here?". "If not, I could fill you in?". Himalia wanted to be as accommodating as possible, it was the least she could do.

Kuxirra nodded as Himalia Tavers introduced herself. When the men walked by with their lustful glances, Kuxirra glared at them, the quarterstaff on her back sending the message her piercing blue eyes may not have given: don't mess with us.
When Himalia said that the men here were gross, Kuxirra shrugged. "Boys will be boys. But yeah, I get what you mean."
As she was pulled into an alley and asked about the mission, Kuxirra shook her head. "I was told you'd fill me in."

Himalia thought about what the girl had said about the boys, but didn't think to respond to that again. She now lead Kuxirra down the alley a bit more to tell her of the mission. "Well, here is our mission". "We are here to investigate a trafficker, called "The Slicer". "He currently operates somewhere in the lower districts, and we are on our way to meet a contact in the Duros Sector". She grinned at her fellow Jedi to show some compassion and understanding. "I am leading us to a nearby tunnel, its a shortcut to get to the Duros Sector". "I would go more into the details, but we have to hurry to meet the contact". "Still, If you have any other questions, don't be afraid to ask, alright?". She widened her grin once again.

Himalia now continued down through the alley, leading herself and her new Togrutan friend closer to the supposed shortcut that Himalia mentioned. Trick was, Himalia didn't know exactly where it was, but she was certain that she would be able to locate it in short order.

As they zig zagged through a few more back alleys, they then crossed another busy street in the Corellian Sector and into another alleyway. Himalia could sense it, they were close.

She turned back her head towards Kuxirra,
"I think we are getting close to the tunnel".

She swallowed her breath a bit.

"Be careful once we enter the tunnel and stay close together". "I don't know what could be in there". She knew she wasn't making things easier for her fellow paddie. She would try to lighten the mood a bit.

"But hey, don't worry, we are Jedi, and we're stronger together", said Himalia as she led them both towards the entrance of the tunnel. She turned a corner quickly and ducked under a large metal exhaust pipe stretched across the alleyway. After she lifted her head, she saw it, the entrance. A large metal circled door marked the entrance of the tunnel just ahead.

"Come on, this way." She gestured to the Togrutan as she started to make her way to the entrance of the tunnel.

As Himalia Tavers mentioned the Slicer, Kuxirra raised an eye marking. "Is he anything like the Razors on Coruscant?" The Razors were a gang, named because they skinned their victims alive. She had encountered them before, as well as one of their victims. The victim had died before she could get help. The Togruta nodded at the mention of the tunnels, easily keeping up as they wove through the alleys, staying less than a meter away as they entered the tunnels.

Himalia ducked and lowered into a crouch as she prepared to enter the tunnel. She considered using her lightsaber to get into the tunnel, but she realized there was a lock switch. Using the force with a swift swipe of his hand and the switch unlocked the tunnel door as the circle door spilt in half and the top and bottom shifted back into the metal frame. Himalia stepped through and felt the firm tunnel floor. She then brought her other foot in as she then turned around and helped Kuxirra pass through the open tunnel door. After that, Himalia would answer the question she heard the Togrutan ask before they entered. "Well, yeah". "They are definitely similar". "The Razors don't discriminate on who they kill and they don't traffic certain species". "The other difference is that the Razors are a gang, and "The Slicer" is just one man". "Which means he is probably far more dangerous".

Himalia began to slowly walk, still in a half crouch, through the tunnel with Kuxirra behind her. She now looked down at her wrist pad. They didn't have too much time before the contact might leave. Still, Himalia had enough hope to believe they would make it on time. She turned her head back to Kuxirra as her feet kept moving forward slowly. "Alright follow me, lets get going". "Just be careful, we got no idea what's down here". Himalia sped up a bit and a few moments later she could see the faint light at the other end of the tunnel, still somewhat far away.
