Kaeshana had been a disaster. The media coverage of the whole battle between the First Order and the Galactic Alliance on the planet was still not over -- even though it was their enemies' victory, the situation was not yet settled. There was a lot more to do, starting from showing the people of the Alliance what was happening on the occupied planet, as well as trading information between different groups of people.

Yet Aneya was working on a side project concerning the whole issue. With the approval of the company's CEO, the girl had employed some people to help out with putting together a "Welcome to the Alliance" bundle. It was supposed to be a simple little pack of information and other essentials for people who joined the faction.

Now, however, the idea had turned into something even more serious.

Aneya, the editor-in-chief of Sullust Daily, had invited a representative of Firemane to her office to work on the whole project, maybe forming a solid cooperation. Kaeshana had been really crucial to these people and not what they had lost their hang on the planet, things were surely a lot more complicated.

Miss Maev, seeing opportunities in the whole situation, had to act now. That's why she wanted to help these people with relocating refugees from the planet.

Sitting in her office in the Main Headquarters of SCNN, she was waiting for the representative to arrive, feeling hopeful yet somewhat frightened of how things would go. After all, Firemane was a powerful weapons manufacturer and by no means the most peaceful company around.

It probably said a lot about the importance Firemane attached to Kaeshana that the megacorporation did not just a normal representative. No flunky from the ironically named Board of Control, media spokeswoman or one of the many photogenic officers.

No, co-CEO Countess Siobhan Kerrigan, former Exarch of the Omega Protectorate, came herself. She'd fought during the Battle of Kaeshana herself. Word was that she'd pulled a Star Destroyer from low orbit, though in all fairness these stories were quite a bit exaggerated since it had been a team effort, and duelled Darth Carnifex. However, in the end, she'd been forced to retreat with the rest of the Firemane and GADF forces, along with a substantial number of Eldorai refugees who'd thrown in their lot with the coalition.

The battle was over. It was time to look to the future. So the Countess' shuttle landed at the HQ of SCNN after her mobile home, the Ardarvia, had arrived in the system. The Lady was dressed in a black women's business suit with a conservative skirt, a pair of stockings and heels. This was probably considerably less intimidating than her beskar armour. A minion of the news company escorted her to the office where Ms. Maev was waiting. She walked with a slight limp and leaned on a cane decorated with Eldorai runes.

"Glad to see you," Aneya said upon the woman's entrance to the office. It must have been no other than Siobhan Kerrigan. She had heard her name and seen the face all around the place -- it was her duty to know these things, because what good of a media mogul she was when she couldn't even remember the most influential people in the galaxy. "Siobhan Kerrigan, I believe? If so, then nice to meet you. I'm Aneya Maev, the editor-in-chief of Sullust Daily."

She gestured the woman to take a seat on one of the sofas in the other side of the office. It was the more chilled area of the room where a coffee table was full of biscuits and coffee was brewing and a bowl was full of different fruits. "Please, take a seat."

The girl didn't know what the woman was like, but she'd seen many different kinds of people during her time in the SCNN, so Kerrigan couldn't really surprise her with anything.

"The battle of Kaeshana must have been terrible," the secondary leader of the Sullust Central News Network commented, diving straight into the topic of the horrible event. Of course she knew what the battle had been like; she'd been in control of the media coverage. But small talk was small talk. "All the poor civilians, must have been really tiring for the military personnel as well..."

"It was. It's a great blow. Like an open wound," Siobhan admitted. There was no way around it. Still, she kept her composure. Her viciously scarred face was framed by a mane of red hair.

"I understand you covered the battle, so you know the story. My troops fought gallantly against superior enemy numbers, as did our GA and Mandalorian allies. We were able to save many natives before the pullout, but many more are now under the First Order's yoke." There was fire in her deep brown eyes, determination filled her voice.

"I'm confident Kaeshana will be free in time and I will actively work towards that day. This battle is not over. Nor are the Eldorai refugees forgotten. Firemane takes care of its own. I don't forget my people." The Countess sat down upon one of the sofas, crossing her legs. Then she poured herself a cup of coffee.

"I must thank you for your hard work on the battle field. People like you surely do ensure the welfare of our faction," Aneya had to note. As a person with no military training whatsoever and very small muscles, she would never be a fighter. But that didn't mean he couldn't be thankful for the people who defended her.

She smiled, taking a berry from the bowl and gesturing the woman to do the same.

"I wish the best of luck to you with the refugees," the girl continued, her tone a little bit more relaxed now that she knew what Siobhan was like. "But that is also the reason why we are here, ain't it so?"

Relocating the people saved from Kaeshana was one thing, but providing them with everything needed for continuing their lives somewhere else was a completely different topic. Aneya didn't know the feeling of confusion and helplessness people would face in a completely new environment because she had never experienced anything like that. But she could imagine what it must have felt like.

"May I ask, have you found the place for the people you have managed to save from the planet?"

"Thank you, Ms Maev," Siobhan took a berry and swallowed it, then brought the ceramic cup to her lips and took a sip from her coffee. Generally she preferred tea - especially Atrisian - but this was good stuff and not cheap stimcaf.

"We discussed this matter with the leaders of the Eldorai refugee communities. We've decided to relocate the bulk of them to a planet called Arkas. It's a tropical world with plenty of resources, but barely populated. Most of the population is composed of former slaves we liberated from the clutches of pirates. Firemane has forces there, so we'd be able to offer protection. At the same time, it would give the refugees autonomy from the Eldorai Matriarchy on Tygara."

A pause, she put the cup down on the table. Her Basic, usually a fairly typical Rimkin, had slipped into a slight Eldorai accent. "Regarding those refugees who want to chart their own course and seek their fortune in the stars, we'll do our best to make sure they're not out in the cold."

Obviously the resources of a corporation, which in the end was about making a profit, and of the Tygaran Alliance were not unlimited, but they would do what they could to help. "It's the least I can do for my people. We can't do this alone, so we're going to be working closely with charities, the Jedi Service Corps, Salacia and Alderaan Engineering so that the refugees have the tools to start over. Salacia has kindly offered to settle some refugees on Tabaqui."
