Private A Bid For Legislation

Jutrand
Capital Building
876 ABY
The building was alight with activity as worlds were subjugated and conquests ran rampant. Under Darth Empyrean, Legion I, otherwise known as 'The Emperor's Fist', had decimated dozens, if not nigh on a hundred worlds in only a small span of time. Each was conquered, religion was sent to the masses to uplift them, and unreliable nobles were put to the sword by the great revolution of their crusade. The trouble now came for settling these violent worlds and introducing them to the Emperor's Peace.
That would be his to grant, but he needed someone to support his efforts in this. Empyrean was once a great diplomat, and his word carried far - but his attentions were far too divided in settling his debts with the other Triumirvates for him to simply stop preparing his military. He would need to pass this on to another, and he had just that in mind. A woman who had proven herself a viciously adept diplomat, and soon to be his ear in the world of politics.
He summoned Sharan Maevel Sharan Maevel to his office with due haste, sitting upon his engraved throne as it brought peace to the fire that lived under his skin. A moment without pain, a second to not hear the dark whisper of the Worm - another brief respite in the storm his life had become. Idly, he lifted a small necklace made as a religious symbol for his people - an eternalist emblem inscripted with the words for 'Strength Above All' written in ur-Kittat on its back.

Other business would simply have to wait. When Darth Empyrean Darth Empyrean summoned you, there was no excuse for delaying. Sharan knew better than to leave one of his stature waiting. Her personal guard was left to wait outside the chamber, that was not their place to be.

With a measured but assured stride Sharan entered the chamber. She wasted little time coming before the man on the throne, coming to a standstill and going down to one knee with a bowed head.

"I was summoned, my lord."

He nodded, allowing her to stand and face him. The Force lifted the necklace from his hand and offered it to her with a gentle coaxing. Only after she took it, did he speak;
"The days of our Empire are upon us, Sharan. I have created great plans for a stalwart, imperial government that will hold steady for years to come - but I need your assistance in a matter.", he said with command.
"There will be the establishment of a Senate, a way for the laymen to feel represented in the nation's laws. It will not stay unburdened by corruption for long - of that I have no doubt. The key is that it serves our purpose, and I would have no other accomplish this than you, Sharan."
Slowly, another holopad lifted from the table towards her hands as well. On it, the details of the senatorial structure and worlds Empyrean had targeted for her approach. Under each was a long list of candidates, backgrounds, blackmail weaknesses, and bribery ideas.
"The Senate will have two representatives on the most populated planet in each sub sector. Jutrand, Pitann, Eliad, Terminus. If we are to have a senatorial majority, we need to play the game of politics well - and swiftly, before others attempt to out due us. Be they Kainite, or Tsis'kaar."

Wordlessly, Sharan got back to her feet with Empyrean's permission. She carefully studied the necklace, then gently grasped it. Her attention shifted to the man when he spoke. He had plans, and needed her in order to put them into action. Sharan had no illusions that she was the only one who would be a part of this, but his trust was a great thing regardless.

"I would be honored to be a part of this," Sharan replied. Taking the holopad given to her, she gave it a swift preliminary look before putting it away. It would most certainly come in useful.

"Time is of the essence, then. This operation shall be the sole focus of my efforts."
