Description: In reducing the cannon size of the Judge from 80mm to a more economical 76mm, Domino hoped to reduce shell cost and the size of the cannon needed while saving weight and energy required to fire. As an added bonus, smaller shells meant you could store more and loaders weren't quite as fatigued slinging them about. This high velocity cannon fires shells at velocities near 6km/s giving it an impressive range of ten kilometers against slow or stationary targets with a minimal lead time of 1.6 seconds until impact. An ostrine liner sheaths the firing coils of the gun allowing a firing rate of about fourteen rounds a minute with a skilled loader as long as they don't tire.

Depending on how it's mounted, the cannon can be either mechanically or manually aimed via either a standard gunners scope or by a computer interface similar to a modern tank's. However, as the 76mm MDC is electrically powered, it suffers from the effects of ion weapons unless paired with a de-ionizer. Also, due to atmospheric effects on the shells, penetration and accuracy rapidly drop off after the ten kilometer mark, especially against heavily armored vehicles. As with most ballistic weapons, the closer to the target you are, the better.

Ammunition
  • For the triple charge HEAT, read the second paragraph of the variations section linked in the wiki about the 3BK-31 HEAT round.
  • The smoke shell fires a non-penetrating shell that burns a filling of phosphorous to create a smoke screen at the impact site. The smoke carries its own thermal signature to help spoof IR detection through it. Exposure to the smoke is non-toxic though inhalation could cause some long-term health effects after repeated continuous exposure.
  • Illumination rounds are simply flares attached to a parachute that, when fired into the air, deploy at about a thousand feet or after 3 seconds to provide wide area illumination lasting about a minute. If fired at ground targets the flare may start a fire after the three second delay if it comes into contact with spilled fuel, dry grass, or other such flammable material.

So, to clarify, this is a rail gun?
