- Combat Function: The 5th Special Naval Outfit is an auxiliary ground battlegroup, capable of warzone insertions and heavy landing. While the sheer firepower of other armed divisions is shunned, the skill of the personnel carries the day. They rely on their Forward Group to create a safe landing zone, moving to follow up with a heavy landing of ground assets supplied by air cover.

- Air Assault and Special Operations - The 5th Special Naval Outfit is aptly named, intended for use in special or extreme circumstances. They are veterans at clearing hotzones and landing sites, providing a direct benefit to ground elements and heavier armored groups. Their forward group designation is specifically designed for black ops operations, and can be detached for that purpose.
- Familiar Comraderie - The leadership of this outfit has a distinguished history of warfighting, not simply in the abstract but with each other. Gaius Sisenna himself, before ascending to the Directory, served as a member of the Forward Group. As such, they trust one another with their lives, creating a flexible and adaptable battlegroup that is dangerous in any scenario.
- Individual Veterancy - While touched on prior, it is important to emphasize the veterancy of the individuals within each company. Training is ruthless, even now as the Remnant they served under has long since collapsed.
- Sustained Warfare - The 5th Special Naval Outfit is not intended to sustain long-form warfare, their numbers simply don't add up to be viable. As such, they are best suited for lightning-style insertions and drops.
- Air Cover Reliant - While the Outfit is equipped with anti-air ordinance, they rely on air cover from its escort and CAS groups to cover them from above. This can produce unique vulnerabilities in the field.
- Difficult to Replace - The name says it all. Ruthless training produces a rare breed, a rare breed indeed.
The 5th Special Naval Outfit earned its notoriety after the fall of the New Imperial Order. Director Sisenna, pressed to refit his men for a new purpose, designated their status under Kuat-Entralla's security arm. There, they moved as an enforcement group, cracking down on rebellious elements within the company looking to usurp Gaius' position as Director. Most notably, their field office on Entralla played host to a bloody street war where three former Trade Federation officials were gunned down, along with their complement of bureaucratic support, in what can only be described as a covert hit job.
With their purpose having fled from imperial ambitions, the rank and file of this battlegroup long for conflict where they can find it, protecting economic interests to promote Gaius' rise within the ranks of the Trade Federation. Old sentiments continue to cause trouble, and the love for the Empire persists even as they pursue more mundane warfare.
