Noodles
Hacker Extraordinaire // Ramen Enthusiast

OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
- Intent: Create a junk-built companion droid for Noodles
- Role: Utility aide and slicing assistant; hauler of snacks/tools; alarm/sentry; mobile holo-projector for live feeds.
- Permissions: N/A
- Links: N/A
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
- Age: ~10 years
- Model: Kitbashed utility droid (old cargo-bin chassis on compact tracks; class: general-purpose utility). Built from surplus loader parts, astromech spares, and scrap housings.
- Appearance: Boxy "trash bot" silhouette on rattling tracks. One stubby manipulator claw (astromech origin) and one long spindly grabber (mismatched). Dented panels, taped plates, sticker-bombed shell with scribbles; ramen-lid "armour" on flank. Two front photoreceptors. Front hatch compartment for cups, wires or small gear.
SOCIAL INFORMATION
- Name: "404". Also answers to "Four", "Box-boy", "Klanker" and "Noodle Mule".
- Loyalties: Noodle
- Notable Equipment:
— Mini holo-projector (low-res but reliable).
— Short-range data tether (wired jack; slow but steady).
— Internal carry compartment (small tools, wires, snacks)
— Basic sensor ping + proximity alarm (very loud).
— Hot water dispenser (for ramen, obviously). - Skills:
— Light hauling and hand-off (tools, cables, snacks).
— Background data processing for simple tasks and log parsing.
— Local plug-in to terminals for stable relay (under supervision).
— Alarm/sentry behavior when unknowns approach. - Languages: Binary; understands simple verbal commands in Basic; "speech" via beeps, text pips on holo, and glitched vocoder fragments.
- Personality: Loyal, eager-to-please and glitchy. Hoards shiny trash and snack wrappers; offers "gifts" to friends. Protective of Noodles; gets loud around strangers. Clumsy but earnest. Powers down mid-task sometimes, then reboots chirpy and proud.
COMBAT INFORMATION
- Weapon of Choice: None by design. Has a low-power shock prong for last-ditch deterrence and a blaring alarm siren.
- Combat Function: A totally liability in direct combat. Best use is distraction (alarm/siren), emergency gear delivery and staying out of the line of fire. Cannot keep pace with advanced combatants; relies on handler direction.
Strengths:
- Reliable utility platform: carries gear, projects holo-feeds, runs background processing for netrunning.
- Stubborn loyalty and loud alarm: useful early-warning and distraction tool in tight spaces.
Weaknesses:
- Glitchy and clumsy: prone to dropping items, bumping obstacles, or stuttering mid-task.
- Fragile and slow: no armour, vulnerable to blaster fire and EMP; limited speed on rough terrain.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
404 didn't start as a project — he started as a box. Back when she was still a scrappy kid in the Coruscant undercity, too poor for toys and too restless to sit still, Noodles dragged home a discarded cargo-bin with a brilliant idea. With a bent screwdriver and whatever scrap she could scavenge, she gave it tracks, then arms, then something resembling a face. Piece by piece, year by year, she bolted on parts, rewired circuits, and rewrote lines of code she barely understood.
As she grew, so did 404. He became the one constant in her life, a clunky shadow at her heels, the only companion who never judged, never left, never asked her to be anything other than herself. She knows he doesn't feel anything the way she does, but that never mattered. To her, he's family.
By the time she found the Hidden Path, 404 was already part of her, not just a droid but her longest-running project and oldest friend. He's no warrior, but he's proof of what she can do: take broken junk and make it walk, rattle and beep beside her through everything.
