 100 Posts Feedback for Katarine

As many of you know I've struggled on Chaos over the years. I'm a bit flaky in my writing and in my characters and I am easily overwhelmed so I always end up deleting them, only to bring them back again. Lately I have really been trying to fix this habit. The character whose always been the most difficult is Kat so while 100 posts might not seem like a lot, it is in fact a huge accomplishment for me to have kept her around this long.

I welcome any feedback people would like to offer. What I especially want is to find if anybody is interested in becoming a core writer with me so that we can engage in long term developments, either for this character or for my others. I currently only have a few of those and I would like to widen the net.

But yes any feedback on Kat is also welcome :)

The nice Vanagor died, now you get me.
That's your problem. Don't "push", let things happen
If something you are trying works? GREAT! If not? No big deal, try something else.

Caltin was originally going to be a Sentinel Investigator
Connel was originally going to be.a Guardian Master
Michael was going to be more Jedi than pilot.

Their lives got in the way of their plans

I think this is great advice. When I was transitioning this guy from teenager to adult, I was kind of loss as I had tried a few things in his teenage arc of what he may be doing. Didn't stick or feel right for one reason or another. Somehow, someway this idiot ended up being a literal nerd with a specialized degree in geology and a rock collection and guess what, it finally feels "right".

Never would have took him in this direction but it worked, sometimes you gotta listen to the character.

Feedback wise I would say two great solid interesting threads are better than ten so-so ones. From what I can tell, you tend to get overwhelmed easy so I would say relax and stick to two-three threads that give your character growth and development. Think of it as a marathon and not a sprint. If you feel the need to write Kat don't expand threads, maybe consider making a blog-arc of stories to give background flair. Something that builds rather than pushes I feel is more important and its often how I expand my characters story.

100% this. When I made Des I really only had some inspirations, developed a backstory that would get her off Arkania, and then the only plans I had after that were for her to become a Knight, win the approval of her kin, and maybe return home.. and perhaps try to institute some societal changes there.

That's about it, as far as plans, and just let her see where she would go.

You don't always have to have a tight plan. Certainly don't have to push. Story comes along and puts any character into rough seas. Enjoy the journey as much a the destination.

Also I've been interested in Kat since I first saw her first pieces of art and got several characters could interact with, and long-term partners are good. I'm down for it. Potentially.
