Not a government. Not an empire. A defense pact.
The United Protectorate of Sovereign Systems exists for worlds that refuse to surrender their sovereignty to distant powers. Where the High Republic governs, we protect without control and without imposed doctrine. We do not seek to replace them, nor to oppose them without reason. But we will never submit to centralized authority when it comes at the cost of identity, belief, or freedom.
Born from the legacy of the Dark Hand, the Protectorate has grown from a network of covert operatives into a union of independent systems, militias, Force traditions, and civilians who believe that strength does not require domination. The Hand still endures within us, a quiet and precise force operating where shadows are necessary, but it no longer stands alone.
There is no Chancellor. No throne. No single voice above the rest. Leadership exists only to coordinate and guide, not to rule. Each member system retains full sovereignty, contributing what it can, how it can, to ensure the defense of all. Soldiers, ships, intelligence, supplies. Every contribution matters, and no world is too small to stand among us.
We are not built for the powerful alone. We are built for everyone. For the soldier who defends their home. For the pilot who answers a distress call. For the politician trying to hold their world together. For the Force user who does not fit within the structure of the Jedi, yet still seeks purpose.
All traditions are welcome. All voices have weight.
We stand against tyranny in all its forms, but especially against the Sith and those who would impose their will through fear and domination. We fight not to conquer, but to ensure that others never have to kneel.
We will stand beside allies when our goals align. We will walk our own path when they do not.
