The cities fortunes began to turn in 45BBY when Alrin Werr and his two allied families corporations set up shop at the edge of the Tarisian Sea. These three headquarters began a steady infusion and rebuilding that lasts to this day. The massive city had been slowly rebuilt starting from near the three headquarters outward, along with a steady stream of Sephi subspecies from their home on Flax.
Tel'alith Labs over the centuries has restored the Tarisian Sea to its healthy state. Gene tweaking plants to do more work on the environment along with de-extincting many species. The planet continues to recover towards a place it hasn't been in Millennia. With the rise and fall of many galactic powers Trais has tried hard to remain neutral. With varying levels of success.
Formally founding the Tarisian Republic with Flax as a governmental partner. They have the ruling council and the senate. Quite a few corporations have seats in either or both chambers. The council is where one of their own is elected as chancellor for a five year term, unless they step down, resign, or are removed before hand. at the three families have seats in both chambers ensuring their centuries of investment continue to bear fruit.
