Entry from a Journal of Brooke Waters of the Blue Coral Divers Clan
I’ve been around the galaxy and see many different people. But one of the most varied groups are the ones I call family now, the Witches of Dathomir. As a Seeker for the Blue Coral Divers clan, I’ve went around the galaxy and around the world. I’ve met parts of the each of the clans. Some are more friendly to me than others.
I’ve made a list of the ones that I’ve run into, and a few of my take aways. Perhaps this could help others of my clan
First, lets do the bad.
Scissorfists. Historically the foe of the Blue Coral Divers. Where we are warmer waters, they’re colder. Not quite polar, but pretty close. We both spin the blue ichor I’ve spoken about in the past. However they tend to invade, almost like plague, but definitely invasive species. They’ll replicate and their spells focus on slowing folks down, and breaking them, almost like glass, or more appropriately, ice. I know I’ve seen some use summoning trip, but their summons feed off of the dead… (Definitely the type you don’t want to meet up with, if you’re a blue coral. You can take or leave their abilities as witches, I’m sure they’d be useful to some teams…)
Nightsisters.. I’m going to not touch upon these ones. If you don’t know, find the expert, if you do know… well, you’ve been warned. Necromatic magic, green ichor, and a taste of the dark side. Some used for dark purposes, others just borrowing their spells and power, but with a better approach
Now for the ones I see that are more on the side of… well, light?
Bright Sun. They’re a different breed. They are two former clans in one. Raining Leaves and Broken Columns. The latter was a male led clan. Interesting skills on those. Spells to reverse entropy, return something to its natural state. Raining Leaves… They were one to enslave men, were overthrown… and have some connection with the Sith. The Hapans are supposed to connect to the Columns? Seen them as fighting the good fight now. I know that they’ve been able to make night into day with their magick.
Other water clans… the Frenzied River. They’re interesting. Most of their teachings are Jedi Order adjacent. I can appreciate that personally. Healers in there, and protectors of some of the others. They also have some traveling witches… Potion makers… Able to heal the sick and the tired.
Misty Falls… I dont know much about them. I do remember one Witch had spells that could pummel you with whatever they had around, wind, water, pebbles. It was… not an exciting meeting.
Dreaming River. These ones are fighters. In their ancient past, teh Imperials had arrived to enslave them. They worked with Jedi and others to fight back. The ones i’ve met remind me of the Fallanassi. Illusions and invisibility. Just with a bit more gusto and fight to them. You won’t even know you’re in range of their bows until they’re already fired. I remember at least one of their elders were an oracle. Able to see the timestream from their river…
Now the land clans.
Singing Mountain. Again, if you know, you know. I don’t feel I can do their clan justice. They are friends to the Blue Coral Divers and their spell-songs are some of the most powerful. I think they keep even the Nightsisters at bay.
Red Mud Potters. They’re artificers, of a degree. Turning earth into many different wares. The thing that separates them from most potters on any old world? The spells they sing into their gear. I have heard that their clay armor can even defend against blaster bolts and lightsabers. I haven’t seen it in action against beskar, but I feel its similar to one of those Jedi spells… Force weapon?
Howling Crag. These ones are interesting. Canyons and crags. They’re able to call upon Dathomir to form solid walls of earth, to tie their foes to the ground. They’re also surprisingly good healers, and have fought against the Blackwing Virus more than once with great results. I’d do to them for healing before I returned to the clan if I was in some regions of space…
Red Hills Clan. Another do-gooder group. They are supposedly some of the best trackers through non-swampy terrain. Fleet of foot. You won’t know you’re in their area of an ambush until its too late. Friendly with the Singing Mountain.
Great Canyon Clan… These are former nightsisters. I’ve stayed away from their region. They still follow a Nightsister Book of Shadows. Rancor Riders.
There are other smaller clans, Tall Forest, Deep Jungle, Starfall Gorge… Seen them around, plant and wind specialists… But more secretive and not wanting to talk to me…
Hopefully this will help other seekers, of my clan and others.
