Dorin

Ko was focused and in the zone. Having been spending the last few hours in the kitchen of his family's estate. It had been some time since he’d been here on Dorin with his uncle. Who was determined to train Ko some life saving techniques, which they have made progress in. But they could only ever continue the lessons whenever his Uncle was both awake and sober. Something that felt more rare than the stars aligning over Dorin.

There was a local holiday approaching which traditionally focused on things like love and companionship. Considering that Ko had plenty of free time while hanging around his old home and was getting a bit stir crazy. He’d already cleaned up the house, threw out all the old liquor bottles and tended to the neglected gardens. Now he was feeling festive.

Right now he was brewing, testing out various methods, temperatures, and brewing times with a unique tea. One that could give the water a distinct pink hue. Unfortunately for him he couldn’t look at the color. But the aroma and flavor he could gauge and is where he put his focus. Ko had already spent the previous night crafting a number of special heart shaped tea bags to store them in.

However, rather miraculously, Ko’s uncle Xojo stumbled into the kitchen and found Ko busy. “You’re up early…” The nephew remarked, not once turning his attention to the hungover man. Being perfectly capable of observing them through The Force.

“What are you working on? Looks like some kind of science experiment.” Xojo’s word’s weren’t too far off the mark. Ko was technically doing science. Specifically utilizing the scientific method in his brewing.

“I was feeling festive, thought it would be nice to give some of my friends back in NJO some gifts. I’m trying to find out the best method to prepare these teas so I can provide little instructions if they wanna prepare it themselves.” Ko answered, as he poured himself another small cup of pink tea to examine.

“Friends?… What, you got some girl back there you wanna impress?” Xojo’s tone seemed filled with doubt that there was anybody Ko was close to. Since Ko has been here they have expressed plenty of their critical beliefs of the Jedi. Having viewed them as a militant order of impatient, and emotionally stunted Force Adapts. Often upsetting Ko in the process.

But the mention of Ko trying to impress a girl had him tense up nervously. Feeling a bit flushed over the insinuation. “Well no, nobody specifically says that I’m trying to “impress” as you put it. I just wanna do something nice for my friends while I’m here.” Ko’s response earned him an eye roll.

“Sounds like a waste of time if you ask me. You’re really using the brewing practices I taught you for this?”

“You’re one to talk, and yes I am…”
Ko retorted, implying Xojo was a hypocrite for just lounging around all day drinking and earned the younger Kel Dor a verbal huff.

“You could try as many times as you want with courtship, but they won’t see as anything more than another weird alien to scoff at. Ain’t that right “Bothan?” Xojo mocked, since Ko had confided how one of his fellow padawans, Corazona von Ascania misidentified as a completely different alien. Which his uncle had found very funny. After a moment they left the kitchen. Leaving Ko alone with a rather gloomy cloud over his head. He finally took a sip of the pink tea. Which now tasted pretty good after some of his trial and error. Despite Xojo’s negativity Ko knew in his heart that the little gifts would be appreciated by his friends. He grabbed a little data pad to speak into. Recording his notes on the perfect water temperature to brew the tea in.

Now he could get to packing the herbs into their little heart shaped tea bags, after which he could attack little notes on how to best prepare. Putting his focus back into something he enjoyed allowed the cloud over his head to disperse. He just hoped that they'll get delivered in time…
