YUMFLA, SUSEFVI
RIMWARD TRADE LEAGUE COUNCIL
EMERGENCY MEETING RESOLUTION 548927.32

The galaxy is no stranger to uncertainty and unrest, especially in regards to intergalactic governments long thought to be pillars of stability. While we do not yet know the truth of the matter, the Holonet and DarkNet are alive with rumors that the Confederacy of Independent Systems faces some sort of dissolution.

Such a statement rocks the galaxy to from the Western Reaches to the Tingel Arm, as the Confederacy has been an anchor for the galaxy. Their presence, general neutrality, and economic might have been of great benefit to the galaxy as a whole. To those of us who have had the privilege of being their neighbor, they have been even more than that. Going back to the previous Galactic Alliance, the Confederacy has been a strong ally to the people of the Outer Rim. They aided the Alliance and then the Outer Rim Coalition in defense of the Rim against the First Order from the Hydian Way to the swamps of Dagobah. We fought together against the forces of Chaos in the Netherworld. Our respective governments had a long and peaceful relationship that fostered trade and economic growth across wide swathes of the galactic map. Even more, they have been champions of individual liberties and the rights of planetary governance, a goal which we find admirable and one worthy of emulating.

If the rumors are true, we mourn their passing from the galactic stage, but as a great playwright once said, all the galaxy's a stage and sentients but its players, walking on and off, leaving our mark on the play. If this be the case, truly the Confederacy has been one of the great stage luminaries of our era, whose role has come to an end. One of the great things about theater, however, is that actors can wear many masks, and we can only hope to see them return in a new role in the next act of the great tale that we are writing across the stars.

Until then, the Rimward Trade League Council offers our full support to the worlds and members of the Confederacy. We support their member systems rights to self-governance and will support their paths forward and pledge to aid any who request to the fullest of our capabilities. Furthermore, we pledge to treat with all system's governments as equal comrades in the court of galactic politics and to strive for the mutual benefit of all citizens. If those with nefarious intent strive to take advantage of any such rumors and prey upon the member-systems of the Confederacy, we shall repay the defensive debt we owe them with the full force we can muster.

We hope the rumors are false, but if not, we salute the Confederacy and mourn its passing, yet look to a brighter future together.
