As the holocron lit up, the blonde Witch stood before the researcher, or Force student. The scene was different than usual, Brooke Waters was aboard her starship, the blue of hyperspace behind her.

Coming back to this holocron is the best way for me to get things down until I can write them in the Book. Its just harder and harder to get to Dathomir to perform the proper ritual to update all of them. When you travel the galaxy, and take note of the animals you find, specifically the sea creatures, there are a large handful of abilities that become known. Just like the sea is tied into storms, so is the sea tied into its wildlife.

Its what I want to help describe here today.

As you know, if you’re seeing this, or reading however it is put into print, the Blue Coral Divers have a select set of skills. Aquatic, healing, imbuement. However, especially with the Scissorfists out there, and other foes to our way of life and Dathomir, there is a need to help defend what is ours. And it may mean the fight needs to come out in us.

Three ways I have come to that are as follows

A form of telekinesis special to our clan, that some may call hydromancy. The use of telekinesis to affect water in its various forms, though lets be honest, we are coral hunters, that water is normally always warm.

The first step that comes to mind is telekinesis and enhancing the water. While we may not be capable of pulling the heat away from the water, there are other tricks we can do. Water has a natural surface tension, it is what allows the skimmer bugs to stay on the surface. But what if we could do more? With magick, one can tighten that tension. Link water to itself, not unlike freezing, but knitting the surface together, taking water, and turning it into a construct.

Nothing that will last long. What I’ve managed to do so far is something akin to a whip, and a javelin. Short term tension that can lash out or be thrown.

What I have found is the control of water can extend into a variety of ways. We can control it to move it, but we can also control it to remove it. I have been able to control water in such a way to remove excess from a being’s lungs, but I have found the line. Its there, but with water being what it is, it unites us. It surrounds everything and is in most beings.

And therefore can be controlled in the being. Pulled out of their muscles, impending their movement. Pulled from their body, dehydrating them. Making their mind slow, foggy. Make them miss a step. Water is the thing of life, and when you think of how you can control it? The options can be limitless.

Another form of an outward use of the Force to our foes comes from both the storms we all love to see, and numerous species that use it for protection… Electricity and lightning. The storms can cause so much chaos to those around us, but if we can harness it to our own? If we can follow in the steps of certain species?

The storm is something through history that must be respected. A storms appearance has caused fleets to fail, has caused armies to laydown and wait, giving those being attacked time to respond properly. A Witch of the Blue Coral Divers should learn to control the lightning.

Not in the same way as a Sith. No. Sith lean too far into their emotions. Their lightning is something that tears and kills. It rips a person apart. While a Blue Coral Diver should fight to protect, we are not as wanton as the Sith. Or stoic as the Jedi for that matter, no matter how we are connected to the latter.

Electricity is part of movement, it can be used to enhance our own, or delay the others. Throwing lightning around can disable electronics but also a being, their legs, their arms, knocking them out for a time. But it can also be used to make sure they never move again. But it is part of our own movement.

Working with the Nightsisters, or more aptly, their stolen spellwork, I have been working on the teleporting ability they have. What I have come up with, from our connection to a blue ichor of the seas, when working a spell I found, and changing it to our own, the Movement Spell, lightning arced around me, and helped enhance my movement power. My speed. But as I focused, trying to bridge the gap of the Here and There spell, the change was different. A Nightsister vanishes and returns in a puff and green smoke. We move with a flourish of blue lightning.

Finally, the last form is something new that I have working with some Elders about. Poisons, toxins. With our magick, we can summon the abilities of many things, but pulling from a specific animal or area is not something we can do to ourselves, but pulling from the creatures we can find, we can prepare, and imbue toxins and poisons, part of the potionwork of our station. Toxins meant to delay, and stun, to mesmerize and disenchant. I’ve prepared a small sample to be logged here.

The holocron would blink, giving a few different choices and Brooke would go on to expand and explain the how-and-why of the Force skills she introduced. A lesson in poison creation, including a Poison of Hinderance and its antidote, and several other potions. Most requiring ingredients from aquatic animals, or corals. Some requiring various seeds, or even eggs. All the focus on slowing a person down, but not being fatal.
