Mandalorian Embassy, Theed, Naboo

Security had been alerted the moment the Jedi set foot on the Mandalorian soil of the Embassy. Adelle received the notification as they approached the front entrance. She set aside her borrowed copy of The Book of Tempering and pulled off the tunic and surcoat she’d been wearing, revealing an armorweave bodysuit underneath. After the incident earlier in the week, the security teams of the Eshan delegation and the Mandalorians had been on high alert. The Embassy itself had its defense readiness condition increased from Blue Five to Yellow Three. Adelle had even cleared Varanin’s personal security staff, hoping to avoid another diplomatic incident.
She walked to a small cabinet nestled among the datacard shelves behind her office desk. Inside, her beskar’gam plates lay neatly on the shelves, the nick from their incursion into Diarchy territory meticulously repaired by Alor Skirata herself. If the Jedi wanted a conversation with the Mandalorian Warden of Eshan, they could have it. Provided they followed the same rules as everyone else.
A second security alert popped up on her datapad as Adelle placed the last piece of her beskar’gam on her armorweave bodysuit.
//:Three Jedi, two human or near-human and one Echani. Knights Reingard and Decoria, Master San Tekka. Signed in and weapons checked at Security. No record of a meeting scheduled.://
Adelle frowned. Were they trying to ambush Quinn? Or was this a matter like Warmaster Monroe, where a meeting scheduled could be delayed and avoided? She typed out a response.
//:Hold positions. Maintain DEFCON level 3. Monitor and report.://
She had hoped her conversation with Sibylla would have cleared this up or that the Republic would have talked to their Order. The Iron Accords were clear: Quinn Varanin was allowed to move freely in Republic space as a Mandalorian diplomat so long as she operated as one. Varanin had mentioned the Jedi Council had concerns about her presence. That was to be expected, since many Dark Siders had been at her coronation on Eshan.
But the previous aggressive confrontation did not fill her with confidence about this unscheduled meeting.
Adelle put her hands on her buy’ce but hesitated. It often gave her trouble, claustrophobia and anxiety clawing at her mind. She'd gotten better, especially since the verd'goten, but on her bad days, it was especially hard. Adelle took a breath and pulled it on. Security feeds popped up on her HUD, security holocams in the hall catching the Jedi as they walked into Varanin’s office. The feeds switched over to the cameras inside the Queen’s office.
She typed out a message to the young Queen.
You are not alone. If you call, I will answer.
Adelle settled into CorSec’s parade rest in front of her office door. Varanin’s office shared the same floor as her own, even if it was on the opposite side of the building. If trouble happened, she could make it there just behind the Queen's own security.
For now, she waited.
And watched.
