A short time before the evacuation of the Hoth Enclave

There weren’t many delivery services that could get to Hoth -- but Auteme was a determined gift-giver, so the package was left during the last day of her visit to the enclave before the holidays. Quill would find it tucked in the corner of one of the enclave’s common rooms. It was a box hand-wrapped in brown paper, only a foot and a half wide and half that in length and height; nothing that would draw a wayward eye. Taped to the underside was an envelope, Jend-Ro written in Auteme’s neat cursive on the front.

The card inside was simple enough; a wintery landscape depicted in whites, blues, and greys. The message inside had obviously taken a bit of effort to fit inside given its length.

Dear Jend-Ro,

I hope that this finds you well during the holiday season. I’d thought about inviting you to the Coruscant Temple -- this year they’re making artificial snow for Life Day, and the Temple has opened to the public -- but I imagine so many Jedi and so many people would make your holidays less than happy.

My gifts to you this year are a few ways I was hoping might help with that. Your condition is unique but I don’t think it’s impossible to remedy, or at the very least mitigate. I was… liberal, with my access to the Archives and the borrowing system we have in place.

The first gift you’ve probably already sensed to some extent -- a shard of Void Stone, with an aura small enough to effectively cover a person. It won’t be of much use when you need the Force, but I imagine it’ll make all the Jedi discussions more bearable.

The next is a Taozin amulet. I don’t think this will be as effective for you yourself to use, but giving it to a guest should hide them from your senses. It might be able to make it seem like you’re alone and make things a little easier.

Third isn’t in the box, but more of a work-in-progress -- I recently came across a few Sith alchemical texts, and I’ve started studying imbuement. Soon enough I hope to be able to make something that can help you long-term (without resorting to Sith sorcery, as Odion did, of course).

Finally, there’s a set of my favorite brand of notebooks and a pack of the best hot cocoa mix in the Core. I believe Luke Skywalker was especially fond of the drink.

A little digging into the box uncovered one more gift, not mentioned in the card. At the bottom of the box was a wool sweater, in rich red and green and white, the garment very obviously handmade. On the front was a snowman with a carrot nose and a top hat. Hoth-y Holidays, it said, in big white letters.

With Love,

Auteme
