STRENGTHS
  • Astromech Slot - Carried over from predecessor designs, the craft includes the means to slot an Astromech into the Starfighter directly behind the cockpit. In this case, the Astromech is utilized to provide additional support, enact minor repairs, and assist with navigational plotting and information to reduce the tasks that the Pilot might otherwise be burdened with without an Astromech present.
  • Superiority Starfighter - The TX-05-A1 is known to excel in a number of fields, from its speed and maneuverability to its complement of armaments and hardier defenses. This allows the craft to be utilized in a multitude of combat roles as required by the parameters of a mission and what is deemed suitable for its current role and needs.
WEAKNESSES
  • Limited Deployment - Due to the size and demand of resources to keep these Starfighters operational, their deployment in squadrons is limited, with fewer TX-05-A1 Starfighters being present in a squadron than what is considered the average.
  • S-foil Weak Point - The components and mechanical pieces that govern the movement that allows the S-foils to open and close are sensitive and fragile, prone to be easily damaged, and can potentially weaken with continued abuse. In such instances, this can cause the S-foils to become locked into position, preventing them from closing or opening properly. In the worst-case scenario, sufficient damage has the potential to cause the wing to be shorn off completely from the main body of the Starfighter.
DESCRIPTION
The X-wing is an iconic Starfighter with a series of upgrades, modifications, and variants that have seen service across the Galaxy and across time; from modest beginnings as the primary Starfighter in the Alliance to Restore the Republic, to its current iteration, the X-wing continues to be the primary Superiority Starfighter in use throughout many factions. The TX-05-A1 is just another variant in the long line of X-wings that has recently been developed and deployed in limited numbers to the Galactic Alliance. Its design worked to retain much of the speed and maneuverability that many of its predecessors are known for, whilst also working to increase its defensive capabilities as well as ensure that its armament was more than a match for the opponents that it would be coming up against in the current time.

Having been developed exclusively for the Revenant Squadron of the Galactic Alliance, the TX-05-A1 is limited in its deployment, both from a production standpoint as well as due to its overall size in regards to the space it would take up on a Carrier or Carrier-style vessel. This limited deployment means that fewer of these crafts constitute a singular squadron, though its status as a Superiority Starfighter more than makes up for this minor setback. Unfortunately, the TX-05-A1 is not without flaws, with the most glaring being that the S-foils, specifically their components and mechanical pieces that govern their movement, are delicate and fragile pieces of equipment. During testing, damage to these components revealed that the S-foils would become inoperable, preventing their proper opening or closing; with worst-case scenarios revealing that the wings could potentially sheer off at the fuselage of the craft.

The TX-05-A1 stands as the first in a new line of X-wing, with its immediate line being provided to Revenant Squadrons, it is only a matter of time before additional successor lines are produced and begin to see service across the Galactic Alliance. For now, the Antilles-class will serve proudly, though limitedly, with the Revenant Squadron, providing an additional upgraded variant of a tried-and-true Starfighter that continues to see new life even hundreds of years after its initial introduction.
