SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Always designed in pairs, these weapons are made for only one user at a time. How this is done varies, ranging from customized grips, adjusted weights, altered positions of select components.
  • Some models feature a built-in retractable vibroblade option, though not all use it.
Strengths:
  • When used by the one each pair is made for, the weapons function as an extension of the user in Ziltus Jor combat styles, the weapons designed in such a way that the minimal of effort and time is needed to get the weapon pointed where it is needed.
  • Each pair of ZJ-15 pistols is a unique piece of work, no two pairs in existence matching one another exactly.
  • Powerful in the hands of a skilled user, these are weapons of assassins and master gunmen.
  • All are designed for stealth options in mind. This means that the blaster configuration uses "stealth" bolts, the slugthrower has an integrated suppressor built into it, and the MAW version is by its very nature silent.
Weaknesses:
  • If used by those the weapons were not made for, they are cumbersome and unwieldy, leaving one to question the practicality of the weapon.
  • Being designed for stealth means that while the weapons, in close quarters, can hit with devastating effect, quickly lose effectiveness with distance. This limits the weapon to close quarters to be at its most effective.
  • Because of the way each pair is made, repairs are much more difficult and much more costly, as only the weapon smiths who made the weapon have the parts and tools, as well as plans for each weapon, to perform more than general field cleanings.
  • The nature of the weapons design makes them unsuitable for most people, stemming from their focus on being created for a specific combat style, making it less marketable of a weapon.
DESCRIPTION
Each ZJ-15 Pistol is custom crafted as a matched pair, tailored to fit the user to such an extent as to be an extension of them. The frame is lightweight but sturdy, designed to withstand intense action. It can be made as either a slugthrower, a blaster pistol, or a magnetic accelerator pistol. It is one of the few weapons which, if made as a blaster, uses refined versions of the DC-19 "Stealth" carbine's features to give an invisible shot. If configured as a slugthrower, it has an integrated suppressor unit built into the weapon, providing the user an excellent stealth option. Another common feature that varies by user, but is considered a normal feature of the weapons, is the built in vibroblade bayonet. Some opt to not have it, some do. Those that do either have the blade always out, or retract into a specialized sheath on the weapon, under the barrel. All of these give the weapons distinct profiles. Then you get into the personalized features that often make each pair of ZJ-15 Pistols unique to their owner. The method of reloaded for the gas chamber is the same as loading slugs or pellets, which is via the pistol grip. The weapons can be use seperately, as they are still weapons, but they were created with the goal and focus of being wielded together.

The first ZJ-15's were first introduced just prior to the Mandolorian Wars, refined during that conflict, but was spread throughout the galaxy during Revan's Sith Empire beginning the Jedi Civil War. As time moved on, the weapons were refined and improved, though rarely were these very drastic or noticeable changes. Most ZJ-15 pistols were slugthrowers and magnetic accelerators, as there was no effective way to create a variant of the weapons as a blaster that was very stealthy. One such notable change was the shift in the blaster configuration of the weapon from standard blaster bolts, to 'stealth' blaster bolts shortly after the Clone Wars, during which the DC-19 "Stealth" Carbine was introduced with it's revolutionary systems to provide a 'stealth' bolt. It did however, take time to find a means and way to make the systems compact enough to fit into a ZJ-15. This means that proper "stealth blaster" ZJ-15's were not available until shortly after the conflict between the Republic and the First Order. After this time however, more and more ZJ-15's were made as blasters. This finally evened out the ratio to be, typically, one third of each type of variant.

While proper ZJ-15's are made by the Ziltus Jor School of Close Quarters Combat, knock off versions do exist, as many types as there are schools claiming to be Ziltus Jor schools. Due to this, a engraving is etched into the grip, showing the Ziltus Jor emblem, when light is shined a specific way onto the grip, otherwise, it's effectively undetectable.

Moved to Pre-Factory as per author's request. Please remember to make a note at the bottom of your submission summarizing the changes you have made and tag a member of the Factory Staff once you're ready for active judgement.

Still in progress. Having talked with some folks on what I need to do to bring it to current standards for submissions, there is more work needed on other aspects of the submission before this can be ready for review.

Checklist of things needing done at this time (01:56 US PST, March 6, 2020)
  • Complete Ziltus Jor combat style
  • Create the 'company' within the main Ziltus Jor training school that produces these weapons for its students
  • Work out the marketplace systems for finishing the submission.
