As a reward for those attending the Zinder winter event, Zinder created a new style of contact lenses. One that they called Romance Enhancing Contact Lenses (RECL for short), these contact lenses were given a Zeltron pheromone filter that allowed the wearer to see the galaxy in the rose tinted fashion that one might experience on Zeltron itself. The process to create this was ridiculously expensive and deemed a complete waste of time since the contact lenses were only effective when worn and while people did have a RECL moment when wearing them, once removed they became very depressed that reality was not matching the romance of their memories or desires when they were wearing their RECL.
However, Rhys considered this a brilliant present and item to sell on Zinder, not because the item held any use or was effective in curing depression. (Zinder "brought" the idea for RECL from a non-profit organisation that was attempting to cure depression.) It was the addictive quality these lenses held as well as the fact that he could distribute them freely at an event with the hopes to create a supply and demand effect. The tiny lenses were designed by Zinder to be items that could get lost or broken easily so that people who were addicted to them would have to pay an extortionate amount on Zinder's market for a replacement pair.
Also, with suggestions from Zinder's legal team, the market does state all issues with the product. However the text font is tiny and the same colour as the background so seeing this text is basically impossible.
