- Description: What had started as a predator the size of a large wolf, was slowly domesticated, and bred down to it's size as a pet.
A staunch insect, the quad-winged buzzer that is well known as living within the same city-trees as the Cathar. Many Cathar take the bugs in as pets, as the bugs seem to be semi-sentient, and friendly. Originally much bigger and much more deadly, the Ziio was adopted by the Cathar millenia ago, and have been domesticated to the point of docile behavior.

- Compound Eyes: The Ziio, much like other insectoid creatures, has quite amazing eyesight due to it's unique eyes. Able to see across several bands of the light spectrum, it's also said that those sensitive in the Force are able to learn to see through the Force very easily.
- Apex Predator: The Ziio, naturally, is an apex predator of the jungle. Able to fly omni-directionally, with sharp teeth-shaped pieces of exoskeleton around their large mouths, and sharp claws, the Ziio is fully capable of still acting as a predator in it's smaller, domesticated size.
- Friend Shaped: Despite it's size in the wild, most Ziio's have grown to understand that humanoid shaped creatures are seen as friends, the local Cathar having a millenia to slowly build a symbiotic relationship with the Ziios of the planet.
- Thin Skinned: The Ziio's greatest strength is it's ability to maneuver and fly, allowing it to strike from above. But, should it be attacked or knocked out of the sky, it has very little defences against attacks, as it is biologically an ambush predator.
- Shiny: The Ziio, much like other flight-built animals, relies on ambush tactics rather than heavy attacks. As such, it is a skilled climber, but it's capability to attack targets that are aware of it's presence is limited. As such, it is primarily a jungle predator, the open savannahs often a hunting ground of last resort.

- The Ziio is primarily a carnivore, but it's able to eat fruits and berries if it's primary diet of jungle animals are unavailable.

- The Ziio communicates through various methods. By clicking it's mandibles, it can create a variety of sounds that are designed more of short range vocalizations. Meanwhile, vibrating it's wings can create a myriad of long range sounds, allowing it to communicate across the jungle floor with other of it's kind, or it's handlers.

- Born in small huddles, Ziios are unique in that they seem to exhibit heavy characteristics normally attributed to non-insectoid species. Primarily a monogamous species, Ziios would often act in small family packs, before seeking their own hunting grounds when they come of age, and repeating the cycle once they found a mate.
Known for their rather fierce ambush tactics, the Ziio were originally apex predators of the jungle, using their ability to fly omni-directionally as a way to hit and run their prey.
