The ZI-J547 Long-range Turbolaser is perfect when attacking enemy stations or larger ships. It fires off in bursts of 4 and can travel at extreme rates. The targeting system in the turbolaser starts becoming interfered when having to target close-range, most gunners have to make predictions when firing at such a short distance. A crew of 5-7 is recommended to have the turbolaser running at full efficiency. After every battle or skirmish, it is recommended to check the barrel and make repairs. To put customers in awe, a power increase function is added to increase the power in each shot by 30%. However, this feature can be disabled in an EMP or Ion shot.
Strengths:
- Turbolaser bolts are very high-yield, capable of damaging starfighters, pulverizing most ground vehicles, and dealing significant damage to shields and armor of larger spaceships. They also make a very effective ground bombardment weapon.
- The high-energy cohesion of Turbolasers gives them a very large range, though the effective range is still largely dependent on fire control solutions.
- Although its rotary movement is slow, these turbolasers can hit accurately a specific part of an enemy's ship.
- Turbolasers, in general, are mounted on large, bulky emplacements which have a hard time targeting strike craft and even smaller and faster corvettes.
- The increased energy output results in a slower cycle time for Turbolasers compared to their smaller variants.
- After 65% damage, the turbolaser is no longer repairable and must be replaced.
