Biography
A Childhood Forgotten
Zesiro was born on Tatooine, although she remembers nothing of her childhood or the family into which she was born. Whatever life she might have known disappeared before her twelfth year, leaving her with no memories of her parents, her home, or even her own name. Her first memory was of awakening inside a cage in a room devoid of light. Her clothing was torn and burned, her body covered in cuts, bruises, and minor burns. She had no idea where she was, how she had arrived there, or how long she had been unconscious. The only other living presence was a hooded man who appeared periodically to provide food, water, and treatment for her injuries. He never spoke to her, regardless of how desperately she questioned him.
Once she recovered, the man unlocked her cage but left the room itself secured. Her freedom extended no farther than its walls. What followed was a prolonged ordeal of isolation, flashing lights, deafening noises, and psychological torment. Eventually, Zesiro began anticipating her captor's visits and attacked him when the opportunity presented itself. She believed she had strangled him to death, only to hear laughter coming from farther down the corridor.
It was then that she first heard the name Zesiro.
Her captor had orchestrated the entire experience, and what she had endured was merely the beginning. He subjected her to further physical and psychological torture while molding her into someone who could manipulate, deceive, and exploit others. Seduction, persuasion, and the Force became tools for obtaining whatever she desired. Her education was neither conventional nor particularly comprehensive. She learned what her master believed would make her useful, obedient, and dangerous.
Eventually, he released her into the galaxy, confident that his influence over her would endure. Zesiro later returned to the only home she remembered and killed him with her red lightsaber. She departed with little more than the weapon and a TIE fighter, believing herself finally free.
Unfortunately, freedom and knowing what to do with it were two very different things.
Searching for a Place to Belong
Zesiro's early years beyond captivity were marked by questionable decisions, dangerous relationships, and an almost desperate search for acceptance. She became involved with Milo Ren, serving as both his apprentice and occasional lover. Their turbulent relationship eventually collapsed into hostility, leaving them enemies. Her association with Milo also brought her into conflict with Kyrel Ren and the First Order. Fear frequently dictated her decisions during this period, and when confronted by opponents she believed she could not defeat, Zesiro often chose to run.
Over time, she encountered several individuals who influenced her development in the Force. Skaara Carlon, an Imperial Inquisitor, became one of her teachers, and her time with him provided experiences she remembered fondly despite their eventual separation. Another important discovery came through Anya Loma, a Sith whom Zesiro had previously encountered on Nubia. When the two reunited on Tatooine, Zesiro learned that Anya was her sister.
For someone whose earliest memories contained nothing resembling a family, that revelation meant considerably more than another opportunity for training. Anya became both a teacher and someone Zesiro genuinely loved.
Her path eventually brought her back into Kyrel Ren's influence. He subjected her to dangerous trials intended to force her to develop her abilities independently. Other encounters introduced her to unfamiliar applications of the Force, although her progress was often inconsistent. Some lessons took considerable effort, and others simply failed.
Zesiro was never a particularly gifted scholar. She struggled with concepts that others understood more readily and frequently learned through repetition, mistakes, or necessity. What she lacked in intellectual aptitude, however, she compensated for with persistence and an unwillingness to remain helpless.
Eventually, she recognized that the Sith philosophy did not suit her. Although she retained many of the abilities and attitudes acquired during her training, she no longer wished to define herself through the Sith Code. She had spent too much of her life belonging to someone else.
Kesh and the Life She Never Expected
Seeking distance from her former associations, Zesiro settled on Kesh. Over several years, she found employment, refined her abilities, and gradually developed the confidence to stand on her own. She became involved in protecting others and helping maintain security, discovering that her talents could serve purposes beyond manipulation and personal survival. Her life changed when she became reacquainted with Edric, who employed her as his retainer and protector. Their working relationship developed into friendship and eventually love. For Zesiro, who had once believed affection was merely another means of controlling someone, the relationship challenged much of what she thought she understood about herself.
They married, and Zesiro became High Lady of Kesh.
The position brought responsibilities she had never imagined possessing. She learned to navigate political expectations, oversee security matters, and deal with individuals whose education and experience often exceeded her own. She was not naturally suited to every aspect of leadership, and there were occasions when she relied heavily upon those around her. Nevertheless, she adapted, learning through experience rather than formal instruction.
Their daughter, Hannah, gave Zesiro another reason to reconsider the life she had once led. Motherhood was something she had never expected, and the family she built with Edric became more important than the power she had spent her earlier years pursuing.
For several years, she enjoyed a stability that would once have seemed impossible. Although she occasionally missed the freedom and excitement of her former adventures, Kesh had become her home.
That stability did not last.
Loss, Commenor, and Another Beginning
The Bryn'adûl assault upon Kesh devastated the world and shattered the life Zesiro had built there. Amid the destruction, Edric disappeared, leaving his fate uncertain. Zesiro survived, but the loss of her husband and the collapse of their former home forced her to begin again. Her experiences eventually brought her into the service of Darlyn Excron, President of Commenor, where she assumed significant security responsibilities. Protecting a political leader introduced her to another side of galactic affairs, one in which threats were not always obvious, and problems could not necessarily be resolved through combat.
She learned to recognize suspicious behavior, anticipate common security concerns, and navigate the personalities surrounding positions of authority. Much of this understanding came from experience rather than sophisticated political knowledge. Zesiro could read someone's discomfort or recognize a familiar manipulation without necessarily understanding the finer points of the policy being discussed.
Her association with Commenor also brought new dangers. Political upheaval and Imperial expansion once again disrupted the security she had established, reminding her how quickly governments and loyalties could change.
Through these experiences, Zesiro became increasingly comfortable relying upon her own judgment, even when that judgment was imperfect. She developed relationships across different factions and backgrounds, including ties to Mandalorians, despite never fully embracing their culture as her own.
She also came to understand that surviving did not necessarily mean she had to spend the rest of her life fighting everyone who threatened her.
Mahporeem and the Present
Years after the destruction of her former life on Kesh, Zesiro found herself involved with the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant. Her experience in security, political environments, and dealing with difficult personalities eventually led to her appointment as Head of Internal Affairs. It was an unlikely position for a woman whose education had begun in captivity and whose early adulthood had been characterized by impulsive decisions and repeated misadventures.
Zesiro is not a brilliant administrator, accomplished academic, or political mastermind. She can struggle with complicated explanations, overlook seemingly obvious details, and occasionally reach the wrong conclusion with remarkable confidence. She has, however, spent much of her life learning how people behave when frightened, angry, ambitious, desperate, or dishonest. Those experiences have given her practical skills that cannot always be taught in a classroom.
She understands the importance of surrounding herself with capable people and has gradually become more willing to acknowledge when someone else knows better. Her responsibilities require cooperation with military officers, intelligence personnel, diplomats, and other officials whose expertise often differs considerably from her own.
Outside her professional responsibilities, Zesiro remains a mother trying to provide Hannah with something more permanent than the uncertainty that has followed them for years. Edric's disappearance continues to affect her, and although she has begun considering what the future might hold, she has not forgotten the man who helped her believe she deserved a life beyond survival.
For the first time in many years, Zesiro is beginning to consider what she wants from that future rather than merely responding to whatever disaster happens next.
Personality
Zesiro is outspoken, stubborn, confident, and frequently more impulsive than she realizes. She has little patience for excessive formality and generally prefers straightforward conversations to complicated political maneuvering. She enjoys humor, occasionally at inappropriate moments, and has never been particularly inclined to hide her opinions merely because someone might disapprove.Despite holding an important government position, Zesiro is not especially intelligent in the conventional sense. She lacks extensive formal education, can misunderstand complex subjects, and sometimes struggles to follow discussions that involve unfamiliar terminology or abstract reasoning. Her confidence can occasionally exceed her understanding, particularly when she believes her previous experiences have already provided the answer.
What she possesses instead is practical experience. She knows how to survive, how to adapt when circumstances change, and how to recognize certain patterns of behavior. Her early training taught her to manipulate people, and although she no longer relies upon those methods as heavily, she remains comfortable using charm, persuasion, and her appearance when she believes doing so will help.
Zesiro is not naturally cruel, despite her history with the Dark Side. She is capable of violence and can become particularly dangerous when confronted with abuse resembling what she endured during captivity. Her temper, stubbornness, and emotional attachments sometimes override her better judgment.
Beneath her confident exterior remains a woman who spent much of her life searching for acceptance. She values loyalty and family deeply, even if expressing vulnerability does not always come easily. Those she considers her own can expect fierce devotion, though that devotion does not necessarily make her decisions wise.
She has grown considerably since her early years, but maturity has not erased her flaws. Zesiro can still be reckless, trusting when she should be suspicious, suspicious when she should trust, and spectacularly wrong about things she believes she understands.
She is, above all, someone who continues learning how to live.
