SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Rapid recharge capacitors allow for extremely high rate of fire
  • Light 1mm flechettes, plus heavy weight for size, means negligible recoil
  • High capacity magazines
Strengths:
  • Extremely high rate of fire. Due to the rapid recharge capacitors, the weapon can fire much faster than the average railgun, with minimal recoil.
  • The 1mm flechettes are durable, and are fired at high velocity. This allows them to more easily penetrate armor than the traditional bullet. Though the weapon is only effective at close range, it has the potential to penetrate even heavy armor, though it requires a direct perpendicular hit at near point blank range to do so. Will not penetrate armors made of restricted materials.
  • Little to no visual signature when fired. Some sparks from electrical discharge may be detected in a dark room, and the projectiles have the distinctive flat crack indicative of a projectile going supersonic, but there's no real muzzle flash.
Weaknesses:
  • Without a stock and only rudimentary sights, this weapon is only effective at close range. Comparable to a shotgun with an extremely short barrel.
  • The customer must keep track of both the rounds left in the magazine and the power cell's remaining capacity. Though both the drum magazine and the power cell can be replaced easily, the high rate of fire means both will be depleted far more quickly than normal.
  • The low cross section of the projectile means that, while it has the potential to penetrate armor, individual wounds are usually not life threatening if they don't strike a vital area. Painful, possibly debilitating, but the chances of an individual round getting a kill are slim, especially since this isn't weapon that can easily be aimed.
DESCRIPTION
Essentially a railgun on crack. Three banks of rapid recharge capacitors fire in sequence, allowing the weapon to fire far more quickly than a traditional design. The tiny projectiles don't take as much energy either, which means that overheating isn't as much of a problem, and the power cell stretches further.

The 1mm tungsten flechettes are tiny. Individually, they don't present much of a threat. A single flechette doesn't stand much of a chance of killing the target. Fortunately, where there's one, there are probably going to be a whole hell of a lot more coming right after it. Because the darts are sturdy, travelling at high velocity, and have an extremely tiny cross section, they have the potential to penetrate even heavy armor, provided it's not made of restricted materials.

Due to the high rate of fire, the weapon's magazines and power cells will both be depleted far more quickly than average, meaning that the customer must be extremely mindful of how many rounds have been fired if they want to stay alive. Though both the drum magazines and power cells are easy enough to change, having to do so in the middle of a firefight is going to take some planning.

Since the weapon lacks a stock and only has rudimentary sights, it is not by any means a precision tool. It's only effective at close range, and even then it's not going to win any marksmanship competitions. The customer is advised to join a church of some sort, because the pray part of spray and pray is going to be a very important part of their lives from here on out.
