Description: The Zeltron Smokestone Pendant is a minor item crafted from standard Nihil smokestone. The Pendant amplifies the range of the Zeltron species' natural empathic abilities, which are already powerful enough to pierce the defenses of Taozin amulets. The Pendant is specially attuned to Zeltrons and is less effective when used by other species. The Pendant is mildly active when passively worn, and fully active when the target of the Zeltron wearer's focus.
The Zeltron Smokestone Pendant suffers from some serious drawbacks:
In terms of concrete limitations, most Zeltron empaths can sense the emotions of a full room or a specific target somewhat farther away. By using a Zeltron Smokestone Pendant, an experienced Zeltron empath might be able to sense the emotions of everyone within a midsized building or small starship, or a specific target somewhat farther away (ship-to-ship Counselor Troi style, for example).
In virtually all respects, the Pendant is nothing but a small piece of an obscure canon substance.
