STRENGTHS & WEAKNESSES

Wisdom of Zelroth - For as long as Belphaegor remains in possession of the Durindfire Crystal, his meager Melee Skills are bolstered to an Advanced Mastery Level.

What's the Measure? - The Dual-Phase Setting of this Lightsaber allows Belphaegor to deceptively play with the reach and range of his attacks.

Duelists Dream - The Components of this Lightsaber were specifically chosen for their strength in Melee Dueling, with the combination of the Dragite Lens and Qixoni Crystal providing stronger damage potential in the Blade, allowing it to cut through most objects, such as Durasteel, at a rate slightly faster than a Standard Lightsaber, while the Fencing Emitter applying smoother transition when parrying an opponents weapon.

Sorcerer's Sidearm - Likewise, the Meditation and Qixoni Crystals offer both power and stamina when tapping in to the Force. While this does not advance or affect the intensity of his skillset, it does contribute towards a greater connection to draw from, at a far less taxing cost.

Resistance is Futile - The Hilt of this Lightsaber, sturdy as it may be, can be destroyed by direct strikes.

Why Cortosis? - This Weapon can Malfunction when opposed by objects crafted with Cortosis, completely disengaging the Blade for a short period of time when contact occurs.

Bad at Blasters - The Fencing Emitter installed in this Weapon makes returning Blaster Fire towards a target an impossible task.

I Sense Darkness in You - Given the nature of the Ritual that entombed Zelroth Joachim within the Durindfire Crystal, the dark nature of Belphaegor cannot be hidden from those able to sense it.

Out of Sight Out of Mind - Without this Weapon, or the Durindfire Crystal, Belphaegor's skill in Melee, returns to it's intermediate level. (This includes Force Nullification Fields)

DESCRIPTION

Such little slack had been given during Belphaegor's time in Sith Space, laggard days that unfurled unhurriedly in to the years that built the foundations of his Education. He had arrived from the Unknown Regions as a young boy, lacking the shared tongue of his peers, or the manners of a more civilized Culture. But, as this Sith Empire grew all around him, so too did Belphaegor.

Naturally gifted and galvanized in the Studies of all things Arcane, Belphaegor flourished, as conquest after conquest expanded the Borders of this Foreign Empire. It was not until the Skirmish at Ossus, did Belphaegor recognize a certain sort of fragility in himself. That his affinity for the more mysterious side of the Force, could not singularly lead to success or ascendancy.

The Ritual at Ossus had proven that, more often than not, Victory required the Blade.

But, never in his Study, had Belphaegor proven himself the cynosure of combat. Often mocked by his Rivals and Weapons Instructors for his gangling attacks, so easily shrugged aside and beaten away, an unmistakable failure that would make the Lords of Ages Old wither with disgust. Yes, there in the grand Library of Jedi Knowledge, cowering under a Ritualists Robe near the Eye of the Nexus, Belphaegor was coerced in to hearing those hideous insults again and again as the madness of battle cleft life and limb all around him.

Humor perhaps, that as the bloody tide of conflict broke, his efforts in the endeavor still found reward, in his elevation to Sith Knight.

Some may settle. . . may recline on the awareness that every cog plays a pivotal role in the mechanization's of an Empire. But not him. Unchained from his tether that had leashed him to the bonds of Academia, he returned to the place he knew best. Maena.

Of course, there were numerous places that could have furnished the tools necessary for his first unsupervised creation, he'd developed an impressive list of associations during the early stages of his Training and had deep roots within the Dzujen'qo as an Apprentice. But how could one ever choose ease of convenience, when what they sought to create held such Symbolic weight?

The Journey from the Sith Space Capital of Bastion to Maena was no facile task, months of travel along precarious Hyperlanes, perilous maneuvers around celestial hazards and extended stays in sleazy Shadowports. But even through the haze of heady smoke and salacious flesh, Belphaegor never lost sight of what he sought to create.

It became a task that consumed him, utilizing the idle time between descents in to excess to begin shaping his vision.

First, the Hilt was forged of Turadium and grafted on to with an insulating Shell of Durvalex. It provided strength and weight, with enough heat resistance that would allow the Sith to wield the weapon without the risk of burning his palms. Next, each component was painstakingly fawned over:

A Dragite Lens Array to bolster the deadliness of his Blade.

A Fencing Emitter Assembly to better augment the weapons usefulness on the parry.

A Trapped Grip to insure only his hand would hold this weapon unmolested.

Each piece, every constituent, chosen with a Crafter's Eye towards complimenting the next. But it still lacked the most fundamental elements of all. The Crystals.

As a Student of Alchemy, Belphaegor was well versed in Crystal Systematization and Theory, his philosophy towards Theorycraft, in fact, had done more in earning his place amid the Dzujen'qo than his actual experience. But even so, more than a year had vanished after he finally arrived on Maena, before he realized exactly what he craved most for this Lightsaber.

In that span of time, Belphaegor had many lengthy encounters with the very woman that sent him to Sith Space, [member="Matsu Xiangu"]. He had organized an expedition from East Haven to Kr'ylland along the same Caravan Route his family had met their fiery end when the Heralds of Xoth-za had ambushed and burned them alive as heretics. A treacherous Journey that had offered both enlightenment, and discovery, as his eyes. . . after all of these years. . were finally reunited with the gleaming Black Walls of the City he only remembered faintly from when he was a child.

It was there, during that trek and the time he spent after, roaming the sprawling Bazzars and Trade Markets, that Belphaegor was finally ready to complete this labor of love.

Zelroth Joachim had been a Sellsword all of his life, a man wrinkled with ferocious wounds, his presence bleeding with the sort of martial prowess very few could ever hope to claim. He'd been one of the men that lead Belphaegor through the fields of Lava and Obsidian Sands. He had fought in the last Crusade the Heralds waged against the Walled City of Kr'ylland, battled against Matsu and her slavish followers in the Orphan Wars on the side of the Last Fathers. Whispers of his Legend even told of a ferocious contest Zelroth had engaged in against the mysterious Eyaer.

They were tales that made Belphaegor, so feeble in combat, thirst to experience.

Curious, it always seemed to be the men and women of such vast renown, that never see the knife at their back before it's too late.

However cowardly, Zelroth may have claimed the action was, as a Blade pierced him from behind, Belphaegor was bestowing this man with a Gift. It was out of respect and admiration that this was happening. Feel Honored, the Sorcerous Alchemist had pleaded as White Robed Worshipers of the Black Stone Idol that sat at the Center of Kr'ylland forcefully embraced and secured the man.

It had been planned for weeks, as they two, Belphaegor and Zelroth, shared Wine and Flesh in a narcotic daze of feverish intemperance. Somewhere therein, while prowling the dark streets and corners of his home, the Sith had finally realized his dream after countless hours spent weighing cost and benefit. And in his kindness, Belphaegor was going to grant an eternal life for the man he had come to admire.

At least, that had been the plan.

The execution however, spoke volumes on Belphaegor's inexperience as he ventured far beyond the bounds of his current skill set of the time.

Essence Transfer was a very advanced technique, one he had only studied, never utilized. To say Zelroth did not experience pain that evening, would be an understatement, as his flesh writhed and bubbled, peeling back from the bone in horror as the very marrow of his being was torn from it's mortal coil and infused with a Durinidfire Crystal the Sith had acquired days beforehand.

When it was done, little of the man that was remained. A simple steaming pool of liquefied remains that spat and popped at the feet of the beings that had secured him. The Ritual itself, while not a triumphant success, did yield a significant return nonetheless.

While the idea had been to entrap the Sellsword within the Crystal so that Zelroth's knowledge would be preserved and on tap to forever aide Belphaegor in his own endeavors towards Mastering Combat, what he was presented was a Tool that gifted him all of Zelroth's Wisdom while it remained in his possession, at a cost towards his own natural progression in learning the biomechanics and artwork of melee fighting.

For Belphaegor, it was an acceptable trade.

Using the forever silenced Zelroth, in his Durindfire Tomb, the Sith inserted the Crystal as the main Focus of his Lightsaber, giving his blade a fierce, silvery-white sheen.

He paired this with two others:

A Qixoni Crystal, to amplify both his connection to Zelroth and also the Force as a whole, while benefiting from it's tendency to help produce an even more vicious strength to the weapon.

As well as a Meditation Crystal, to ensure equilibrium and stamina in the Force.

Finally, Zelroth's Rest, was completed. . .

Hello! I'll be handling your submission, so let me get right down to business for you:

Bifurcating Cylical-Ignition Pulse
Dual-Phase Setting
Dragite Lens
Fencing Emitter
Trapped Grip
Durindfire Crystal (Wisdom of Zelroth)
Meditation Crystal
Qixoni Crystal
These would all be listed under Material, rather than special features. You should list things that the saber would allow you to benefit from, for example the effects of the Durindfire crystal or the Fencing Emitter. These will also be listed under strengths if they qualify as such.

Duelists Dream - The Components of this Lightsaber were specifically chosen for their strength in Melee Dueling

Reword this to explain the precise benefits granted by the weapon.

Sorcerer's Sidearm - Likewise, the Meditation and Qixoni Crystals offer both power and stamina when tapping in to the Force.

Would this, say, bolster his Force abilities from Knight to Master level? Elaborate on what you intend here.

Why Cortosis? - This Weapon can Malfunction when opposed by objects crafted with Cortosis.
Clarify that the blade would short out for a brief period, unless this has a distinct weakness beyond that to Cortosis?

Bad at Blasters - The Fencing Emitter installed in this Weapon makes returning Blaster Fire in an elegant sort of fashion, absolutely impossible.
Please remove "in an elegant sort of fashion"- can it return blaster fire, or not?

I would like to add that I like the lore behind this weapon very much. Nice work!

No problem!

Now then, for Duelists Dream, since this is RP and the opponent chooses how they take their hits, the portion about enhanced damage is fairly subjective.

Could you reword this perhaps to compare it in power to a typical lightsaber?

My apologies, I'm very new to The Factory. I will gladly edit, but do you have any suggestions? I didn't want to apply absolutes like IF you are struck by this Lightsaber it does x amount more damage to you and your armor, because it is subjective in PvP, and thought of it as a strength that matters more in PvE, quantifying it only as "cutting through things easier".

Absolutely, I'm glad to help you here!

So, you don't want to word anything that forces your opponent to take any level of damage. That's a good call on your end.

On average, without armor, being hit by a lightsaber or equivalent weapon is going to sear deep and instantly cauterize, and many people forget that.

What you want to do is explain cutting power in a quantifiable way. Say, Durasteel- a normal lightsaber would take several seconds to burn through it completely. Would this blade do it faster? Something down that vein.

Thanks, man! Edited to this, will gladly do more if necessary! All part of the learning process. :) :)
