A free-spirited young woman, Zelen is driven by a fundamental distaste for following instructions she disagrees with – yet she rarely let personal feelings get in the way of the task in hand and remains focused.
She exudes confidence in her combat skills, often facing off against numerous foes with ease. Yet, despite her bravado, she occasionally (and privately) doubts herself as a Mandalorian. Despite understanding the tradition of adoption, and the Mandalorian belief in clan over bloodline, she sometimes sees herself as the daughter of a meek-mannered engineer, not a great warrior. This is exacerbated by an innate ability to work with technology.
She has seen a lot for someone so young but her lack of a conventional upbringing means that occasionally, she exudes a juvenile side to her personality – and a stubborn streak to accompany it.
She can often be seen as a loner, despite being entirely trustworthy as a member of the clan – her tendency to eat and practice alone fuelling this perception.

APPEARANCE:
Zelen is athletic and wiry. Her fighting style plays upon this physical make-up – as she favours speed, flexibility and agility over any use of strength.
She has dark hair that is (typically) cut short – and has deep green eyes.
Zelen wears a suit of Mandalorian armor which she has heavily customised. She kept the insulating body glove to which the armor bonded, but stripped away some of the rest to give the greatest amount of mobility possible, keeping primarily the collar armour, ankle plates, breastplate, knee, elbow and shoulder pads. The only part of her armour that she did not reduce was the helmet she wears, as she inherited it.
She has, however, upgraded the comlink-incorporated helmet’s interior electronics. The headwear, however, retains its traditional targeting viewfinder, macrobinocular viewplate and holo-imager.
She also wears a pair of computer-linked gauntlets, a jetpack, rocket pack and pauldrons.
In battle, she uses a pair of WESTAR blaster pistols that are linked to her helmet’s targeting systems. During a fight, her helmet warns her of low ammo to prevent her running out at an inconvenient time, although the handles of the blasters themselves pulse as a warning of low ammo if she is fighting helmetless.
When not fighting, Zelen keeps the pistols in a pair of Firaxan shark-hide holsters around her waist.
Zelen is also adept at using a Mandalorian vambrace, equipped with a repulsor, grappling line, paralysing darts, a shield emitter, a flamethrower and paired blaster barrels.
And finally, her helmet, armour and jetpack can also operate in zero gravity space.
BIOGRAPHY:
Zelen was born on the planet of Scarif, the daughter of an engineer and his wife.
When Zelen was around 6 years old, her family moved because her father was contracted to do some engineering on the warships that he helped to design. War broke out shortly after the family had arrived on the planet, and Zelen was orphaned when both of her parents were killed.
The only thing she had salvaged from her father’s body was a wrench, and because she was alone after her parents died, she trained herself to use it as a weapon, eventually getting to the point where she could hit any target she threw the improvised club at.
After surviving for a year in the war-torn rubble, Zelen was discovered by a Mandalorian named [member="Gray Raxis"], whom she promptly attacked with her father’s wrench.
The Mandalorian was amused by the attack rather than angry, and decided to adopt Zelen into his Mandalorian clan, and took it upon himself to train young Zelen.
Zelen displays strict adherence to the Resol’nare and has a reputation for being a handful, earning her the nick-name 'Nehutyc’ika' – meaning little feisty one.
Zelen has been trained as a Mandalorian warrior from the age of seven and has expertise and knowledge in weaponry, as well as proficiency in numerous combat skills. An accomplished and acrobatic warrior and saboteur for her age, she is considered a munitions specialist.
As a demolitions expert, she can rig almost anything to explode. She has the knowledge to manufacture her own explosives, and has enough familiarity of how the chemical elements of explosives work in conjunction with fuels – and even other munitions – to create explosions.
She also used her natural abilities to train as an electronics engineer. In addition, she is a decent pilot, although primarily in non-combat situations.
Fluent in several tongues, she demonstrated early in her years, the ability to learn new languages quickly. She speaks Galactic Basic, Mando’a, Huttese, Rodian, Aqualish, Binary, and some Shyriiwook.
