STRENGTHS
  • Code Clear: Combining durable omnidirectional deflector technology with unparalleled medical finesse, Uukaablian hospital cruisers number among the safest places in the known galaxy. These vessels have the resources to manage a crisis that rival many outer rim worlds.
  • Rapid Response: Both in hyperspace and out, Lifewell cruisers are fast. They are designed reach emergencies as fast as possible so its crew can render aid.
WEAKNESSES
  • Do No Harm: Despite their size these ships are outfitted with no offensive weaponry. Only a point defense network and a single squadron of combat fighters are capable of inflicting damage, in most active battle zones the cruiser relies on its robust deflector systems to extract wounded and retreat.
  • Drive Nacelles: Much of the starship's reactor power is shunted through its curving rear nacelles which offer a vulnerable target. Successfully damaging the cruiser's aft section can disrupt both its engines and power grid.
DESCRIPTION

A reflection of uukaablian culture, the Lifewell-class is one of the largest classes of medical ships currently operating in Coalition space. Known for their unrivaled dedication to advancing medical science, Uukaablis produces some of the finest physicians in the galaxy and to serve abroad on a hospital cruiser is considered a prized distinction in their culture. No matter how serious the injury if you can make it to a Lifewell there is a strong chance of pulling through.

With no offensive armament to speak of, cruisers often jump from system to system along with a combat escort. Often an arrangement is reached with local representatives exchanging services for resupply. It is considered dishonorable within their culture not to render aid, so payment is usually not a concern. Lifewells are sleek, unmistakably alien, and a symbol of hope throughout the sector.

DESCRIPTION

A mainstay of the Uukaablian Navy, Pharos heavy escorts are a common sight in trade convoys throughout the region. It is extremely durable for its size as is common for the reformed warrior species. These frigates represent both the exotic beauty of Uukaablian design and a grim reminder that they were once unrelenting conquerors who mastered the art of war thousands of years ago.

Sometimes sighted outside the Kathol Sector as part of combined Coalition flotillas or guarding long distance trade runs, the Pharos-class is far more common in its home region and the nearby Kathol Outback. Uukaablis is known for its benevolent and caring nature, unless you're a pirate or Imperial.

SETTING INFORMATION
  • Structure Name: Terminus Interstellar
  • Classification: Luxury Hotel
  • Location: Terminus
  • Affiliation: The Exchange
  • Accessibility: A short aircab ride from the planet's most prominent starport, the Interstellar is well placed to service its particular kind of high class clientele. Express pads along the hotel's upper rises allow guests to arrive directly from orbit. A full service stand is on hand at all hours to check luggage and drive any scruffy looking loiterers off the premises.
  • Description: On its face the Interstellar is simply a luxury hotel, one of many on the frontier trade nexus that is Terminus. Anyone who has some knowledge of the underworld however would understand that it caters to a very specific kind of guest. The Interstellar is frequented by professional killers, widely considered a sanctuary respected by everyone from low life undercity swoop gangers to intergalactic cartels. Assassins, pirate lords and smuggler princes, even Hunters of the Fringe are occasionally known to make use of its many tailored amenities.
POINTS OF INTEREST

Main Lobby
Apart from its colorful clientele, nothing about the Interstellar's central atrium suggests that it is a haven for criminals or anything other than one of many high class establishments on Terminus. The hotel staff is amiable, professional, and extremely perceptive. As soon as a guest passes over the threshold, they can enjoy the comfort and security of an underworld sanctuary.

Guest Suites
There is no facade here, the Interstellar is a fully functioning hotel with luxuriously furnished rooms and many common amenities in addition to the more unique services its staff provides. All rooms are soundproofed and structurally reinforced, but guests may rest assured that the Interstellar constantly scans for any sign of monitoring tech or any other attempts to violate the hotel's sanctuary policy.

As such a civilian structure with a Maximum security rating is not on the same level as a military base with a Maximum rating. A civilian structure with a Maximum rating could be the seat of a planetary government, or the headquarters of an inter-galactic corporation. Private security, alarms, perhaps even a defensive shield, but they should not have entire armies within or enough armament to destroy a fleet above. PRODUCTION INFORMATION
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Remote Deploy (Timer/Manual Trigger)
  • Encrypted Release (Passcode/Biometrics)
  • Midichlorian Alert Monitor
  • Ergonomic Handle
STRENGTHS
  • Ghostbuster: The Muon spirit trap is a highly specialized piece of equipment designed for one purpose: to draw in and contain the essence of Force spirits.
  • Portable Prison: Once neutralized within the spirit trap's containment field, malevolent essences can be removed from a site and transported with relative ease.
WEAKNESSES
  • Not So Unlimited Power: This trap is not a permanent prison. As soon as it is occupied, its wards against the nether quickly begin to drain power cells. Neutralized spirits must be delivered to a more permanent off site containment facility.
  • Glorified Pokéball: While lesser spirits can be trapped for some time, particularly powerful entities will eventually overcome the compact energy cage and break free by strength of will.
DESCRIPTION

Flagship product of OutlawTech's Fringe Sciences Division, the Muon-series provides a technological solution to a traditionally Force based problem. Consulting with some of the finest mechu-deru masters in the outer fringes, the spirit trap combines traditional methods of supernatural containment with a modified Qektoth incapacitation device to draw untethered Force entities into its energy cage before sealing it off from our material plane.

The device requires no special expertise to deploy in the field. However it requires one to two minutes of charge time before the bio-energy array builds enough power. It is highly recommended that personnel bring another means of distracting the spirit until this process can complete. Once successfully contained potent Force energies continuously drain the device's power source. It must be relocated to a larger energy cage with its own dedicated reactor unit as soon as possible to avoid a possible spirit breach.

PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Manufacturer: OutlawTech
  • Affiliation: Outer Rim Coalition, Closed-Market
  • Model: Void Pack

  • Material: Electronic Components, Void Stone Reactor
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Knobs and Buttons and Stuff
  • Encrypted Access (Passcode/Biometrics)
  • Midichlorian Alert Monitor
  • Ergonomic Handle
STRENGTHS
  • Artificial Force Drain: The experimental void pack emits a constant beam of highly charged void stone particles which can disrupt a Force adept's abilities and even drain them of their connection for a limited time after sustained exposure.
  • Epic Showdown Button: Void pack particle waves can disrupt Force lightning arcs and other similar attacks, locking both beams in a contest of power because of course it does.
WEAKNESSES
  • Don't Cross the Streams: Just don't.
  • Fragile Components: Requiring many delicate moving parts to keep in working order, any significant damage suffered on the battlefield is liable to render the void pack useless. Repairing the device if it breaks down completely requires time and several PhDs in quantum midichlorian mechanics.
DESCRIPTION

Another weapon in the weird arsenal of the Fringe Sciences Division, OutlawTech void packs are extremely experimental prototype devices intended to provide nonsensitives with a potent anti-sorceror option in combat situations. Although field tested and fully functional large scale production remains impractical due to an incredibly rare power source: slivers of void stone meteorite. Originally intended as a part of their anti-spirit line these manufacturing frustrations have led to the few models on hand being loaned out to key Underground personnel for special operations.

The void pack's back mounted power source is bulky and cumbersome. Armed with the particle wand connected to this backpack via cabling however and even the Force blind are capable of serving as battle sages of a sort. While it is most effective against trained psychics, the same life force flows through all living beings and a void pack's draining effects are similarly dangerous against standard troops as well. It doesn't just cut people off from the Force, it drains that energy right out of them.

SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Swanky Hemp Necklace
STRENGTHS
  • For the Demons, Man: Supposedly a potent occult ward which keeps its wearer safe from Darksider attacks upon fortune. Called il malocchio, this dangerously subtle and definitely fake Sith curse is powerless against a red horn for some reason.
  • Lucky Trinket: While the curse itself is fake, there is something to be said for the power of belief however misguided. Anyone wearing the talisman will benefit from a kind of scoundrel's luck which subtly guides random chance in their favor.
WEAKNESSES
  • Protection From Superstition: The Eye doesn't exist and this horn has no functional purpose.
  • Reversal of Fortune: Don't piss off lady luck. If whoever wears the talisman loses or breaks it they really will be cursed by ill fortune until its found or mended.
DESCRIPTION

Il malocchio is a popular Outer Rim folk tale/urban legend which ascribes occult powers to the Jedi and Sith beyond what they are actually capable of. According to legend Force adepts with enough training can curse anyone with a look. Accounts range anywhere from simple bad luck to guaranteed fatal accidents within a certain period of time. Academics largely attribute the malocchio phenomenon to confirmation bias and primitive superstition among those who witness actual confrontations with Jedi or Sith, degenerating over time through second hand accounts.

Most of the time as soon as someone with Force potential is educated on the true mysteries of their order they recognize tales of 'the Eye' for the primitive nonsense it is. Most of the time. Sheriff Amroth of Terminus never paid all that much attention to academics. While the Judge has plenty of field experience there are painful gaps in his understanding of how the Force even works. The Corno Talisman was fashioned to protect his most trusted allies from what he considers a serious gap in their defenses.

  • Production: Mass-Produced.
  • Material: Duraplast, Cutting edge electronic components
SPECIAL FEATURES

VR Environment

Officially nicknamed "holospace" by the Illicit development team, this setting allows for the user to experience the data lanes and messaging hubs of a virtual environment as an intractable, three dimensional simulated space. Primarily used to approximate physical interaction across vast cosmic distances, the holointerface band is also useful for better visualizing a network and more innovative approaches to troubleshooting and cyber security.

While this environment, more commonly known by slang terms like "the matrix" or "digiverse" as well as a few others, attempts to fully simulate sensory perception across a range of species, there are safeguards in place to protect the user from physical harm regardless of the state of their personal avatar. This is not always completely effective, as Illicit Electronics cannot take direct responsibility for any slicing or otherwise illegal modding that strips a unit of its safety features, and in rare instances, the biofeedback when encountering heavy duty anti malware software is so great it can overload all failsafes and potentially cause permanent brain damage.

AR Setting

The Rapture-series interface's augmented reality mode is less invasive than its virtual reality mode. While the interface band in the back of the helmet still manipulates the user's neurological connections to their sensory perceptions, it does not override them completely like a deep dive into holospace. Instead, it enhances the end user perception of their true, immediate environment, allowing them to overlay and customize any number of display configurations to best retain their situational awareness. Because of the bulkier nature of the Rapture-series, most users buy the device strictly for the virtual simulation feature, but for more casual uplinks when there are no other alternatives, AR mode is there and fully functional.

Custom Data Uplink

While the Rapture-series does require relative proximity to a functional Holonet relay, much of the componentry in the helmet not dedicated to virtual simulation is devoted to compressing the neuroinputs it receives and shunting them in as a series of packets along with the normal data traffic. This is why, in times of localized or wider ranging network interruptions, the virtual reality environment can suddenly appear more stilted, the images around the user more jagged and jarring, as packets of necessary information to provide a detailed picture are lost.

STRENGTHS
  • A Unique Perspective: Allows the user to perceive the structure of the galactic holonet and, with some modification, most internal network systems, as symbolic representations of the physical world. Primary uses are for simulating direct interaction across vast distances, and troubleshooting system errors from a more intuitive point of view.
  • Slicer's Dream: An unfortunate consequence of the holointerface's public launch is the ease with which slicers of dubious moral intentions can get their hands on the tech and begin to reverse engineer the software. This process is not without risks, however, as tampering with proprietary technology can easily compromise the physical safeguards and leave the user open to neurological damage.
  • Non-Invasive: While based on Hamarin interface band technology, the user does not need augments, implants, or any form of socket to enjoy a baseline experience. The more augmented the user however, the more realistic the simulation, as the Rapture-series is able to better adapt to known biointerface wetware.
WEAKNESSES
  • Scalability: While the Rapture-series provides a cohesive user experience for smaller gatherings, it has difficulty processing larger swathes of the holonet and rendering it into a detailed environment. The more the holointerface attempts to perceive all at once, the more the quality of the simulation deteriorates, until at a certain point the data stops being useful at all.
  • Power Consumption: Most Core grids are able to handle the additional load (likely at the charge of exorbitant additional utility fees), however the power requirements of the holointerface go well beyond the average portable generator you'd find in some Outer Rim bazaar. Although not unheard of on the fringes of the galaxy, a lack of access to such energy surplus makes the Rapture-series a much rarer sight.
DESCRIPTION

Although the Rapture is based on interface band technology, it does not necessarily require physical augmentation in order to operate, instead relying on lighter surface scans of the user's neurofeedback and feeding it directly into the device's visor. Through this means, the wearer does not merely see what is projected in front of them on the screen in front of their eyes, they are seemingly mentally transported into the environment that screen projects. Entering a state of partial unconsciousness in the physical world as their perceptions of their actual surroundings are severely limited, the user is able to "enter holospace", experiencing the structure of a holonetwork as if it were a physical environment. Where possible, interaction with this environment is possible, as certain motions and functions can trigger scripts within the holointerface that translates the users efforts into corresponding network inputs.

This unique functionality has led to a perhaps expected but not fully anticipated upswell of support for the device among the galaxy's slicer community. Daring modders or "riggers" have been known to even risk bypassing the holointerface's core safety features in exchange for fuller control of the experience, and also to potentially access parts of a network that would normally be considered off limits. This practice is not without extreme risk, however, as even not factoring in possible serious malfunctions in the unit itself from inexperience tampering, certain heavy duty security safeguards have been known to be so powerful and in-discriminatory, that running afoul of one can overload the operator's senses to the point where their brain essentially bursts.

Experiencing holospace has become a growing fad in some of the more affluent parts of the galaxy, but limitations on the technology as it exists today cuts short any speculation as to whether the device could one day usurp more conventional forms of communication and information retrieval. The device struggles to maintain quality at scale, and the power requirements necessary to maintain a stable, long term connection are uneconomic, to say the least. Yet for this with a sufficiently powerful generator on hand, the Rapture-series can be a way to feel more connected to the wider galaxy even in the most remote locations.

STRENGTHS
  • Mobile Strike Platform: The Mystra-class is a combat patrol vessel and mothership designed for both escort duty and long range assignments.
  • Uukaablian Durability: Despite its slim frame like all Uukaablian ships the Mystra is known for its enhanced deflector shield technology. While the ship is vulnerable to hull damage it compensates for this with reinforced screen generators.
WEAKNESSES
  • Offensive Arsenal: Most of the corvette's relatively few combat hardpoints are used for point defense. This is not a front line brawler, it is meant to function as a remote command post while its squadrons overwhelm any opposition.
  • Exposed Hangar: There is no reinforced armor around the ship's clearly visible port and starboard launch bays. Should the corvette lose shields any direct hit could cause severe internal damage.
DESCRIPTION

Like its bigger brother the Pharos heavy escort, these Uukaablian warships are a common sight along backwater trade routes particularly in close proximity to their native Kathol sector. The Mystra-class functions both as a light escort and deep space patrol ship. Having overcome a barbaric history of primitive bloodshed, enlightened Uukaablis designed the corvette like all their vessels with a keen eye towards aesthetic grace.

Uukaablians are an uncharacteristically peace loving people surrounded by some of the most dangerous space in our known galaxy. Although intolerant of criminals or brutalistic cultures they are friendly enough to strangers if a bit reclusive and aloof. Yet they are also famed healers, and will not turn down an earnest request for aid. Despite its classification as a combat ship the Mystra-class is fully outfitted with a state of the art albeit somewhat cramped med bay.

DESCRIPTION

Rarely seen beyond Kathol sector's frontiers, Uukaablian line cruisers are little cousins to the famed Tahree-class. They are some of the most powerful combat vessels in the entire Uukaablian Navy. While precursor models often saw action during their past history of warmongering and conquest today these ships are rarely used to their purpose. Occasionally seen taking part in regional peacekeeping and anti-piracy campaigns a large contingent of Sanctum cruisers hasn't seen battle for thousands of years.

Today the large assault vessels overwhelmingly serve in a home system defense capacity, although some are occasionally dispatched to serve as command and logistics centers for the Navy and other friendly powers.

  • Advanced Alien Particle Beam Technology
STRENGTHS
  • Heavy Blaster: Instead of conventional missile launchers Aurora fighters are equipped with an exotic particle beam blaster which fires an unstable energy blast that violently explodes upon contact. While it lacks the tracking efficiency of guided torpedoes the Uukaablian energy based approach make these fighters particularly effective shield busters.
  • Uukaablian Durability: Unlike most standard attack craft these ships are of Uukaablian design, meaning particularly robust shield systems. Aurora hulls are only lightly reinforced, the bulk of their protection comes from a supercharged deflector grid.
WEAKNESSES
  • Prow Mount: The fighter's heavy firepower is concentrated into its fixed prow mounting. Unlike a missile barrage the Aurora must remain perfectly aligned with its target for the duration of any attack run.
  • Precision Fire: The particle beam mount is a much less fighter to fighter weapon. When dueling enemy interceptors Uukaablian pilots are forced to rely on their underslung laser cannons.
  • Sensor Bloom: Auroras would make terrible stealth fighters. Due to an oversized reactor unit for the ship's size even Uukaablian fighters register clearly on scans at long range.
  • Aft Generator: Its exposed generator housing makes for one hell of a priority target. If the shield integrity weakens enough any stray fire could cause a destructive explosion.
DESCRIPTION

Mainstay of the Uukaablian Navy, Aurora-class fighters are sleek and exotic strike craft built to exploit two of the species' main strengths. Advanced deflector technology, and exotic energy weaponry. Instead of conventional warheads the Aurora comes equipped with a heavy particle beam blaster that fires similarly destructive bursts of unstable energy. This allows them to excel both as shield busters and longer range platforms against fixed targets at the sacrifice of any homing functionality.

Known for their distinct exposed generators the Aurora is rarely flown by non-natives but a squadron or two has found its way into the hands of the Underground after so many years working together with Uukaablis and its people.

ADVANCED SYSTEMS
STRENGTHS
  • Armed Transport: Far more a gunship than a light freighter, the Nova-class still has some bulk cargo capacity for courier runs and smaller loads of precious material. Often they are used to deliver key agents and emergency supplies into dangerous areas.
  • Experimental Boosters: Equipped with a series of experimental booster pods, when activated the starcutter gains an Extreme speed rating for a short duration at the cost of most maneuverability. They cannot be fired repeatedly, requiring a charge up period.
  • Riftrunner: Due to reinforced bulkheads and modified shield harmonics starcutters have a much easier time navigating through hazardous space. Dense nebulae, black hole event horizons, even the Kathol Rift is fordable.
WEAKNESSES
  • Wingspan: Starcutters have a wider than average profile, making them easier to target in a head on engagement. Heavy damage sustained by either wing seriously hampers the gunship's maneuverability.
  • Overclocked: Each Nova-class is packed with state of the art technology and prototype subystems. It is particularly vulnerable to ion attacks which can wreak havoc on the gunship's internal energy grids.
  • Silent Running: When electronic countermeasures are activated the ship must run at a slower speed and is not immune to detection.
  • Up Close and Personal: The gunship doesn't have any long range weaponry. In order to engage a target it needs to get right up into standard weapons range.
DESCRIPTION

Construction of the first Nova starcutters began not long after Mandalorian raiders were driven off of Utapau through combined efforts of both the Skyforce and Underground agents. Grateful for the assistance in their time of need, the fringe world's modest shipyards were rededicated in part as a direct supply source for the Coalition. Novas were conceived as a kind of stealth transport which could 'hide in plain sight' by passing themselves off as salvage ships or freelance haulers.

A contemporary of the Starbird assault shuttle, starcutters are meant for deploying and extracting teams of Underground agents from unknown or hostile environments. Some resistance cells also use the transports as mobile safehouses or for civilian duty. Most of the ship's heavy duty hardpoints are concealed and only a close range active scan would reveal just how well outfitted they truly are.

ADVANCED SYSTEMS
STRENGTHS
  • Hyperspace Catapult: An experimental fusion of Silk Holdings HALCYON technology and ancient Kathol platforms, the modern launch gate is in essence a supercharged hyperspace cannon. Journeys that would take weeks now take mere days and in some cases even hours.
WEAKNESSES
  • Maximum Tolerance: There is a physical limitation on how many ships can be moved in a single jump. Launch gates are not meant for transporting large armadas.
  • Spool Down: Between activation the launch gate requires considerable time to recharge before initiating another departure. This further reduces its tactical value for military logistics.
  • Jump Points: Launch gates are not equipped with their own sublight or hyperdrives. Once a construction site is chosen there is no moving it.
  • HIMS Incompatibility: Kathol hyperspace tunnels are incompatible with modern inertial momentum sustainers. A simple interdiction field at a mid point between two gates is sufficient to disrupt the flow of traffic.
DESCRIPTION

Recent advancements in hyperspace technology as a result of reverse engineering ancient launch gates have allowed Coalition scientists to push the boundaries of space travel. Unlike the standard HALCYON system which was not built to exceed Class 4 transit speeds the Kathol gates are experimental systems meant to reduce travel times across the board by a significant margin. While the HALCYON lines are intended for mass transportation of cargo and passengers without the considerable cost of individual transport ships, launch gates were conceived to rapidly deliver key representatives or small strike groups across the vast outer reaches.

OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To create NPC captain of the Judge flagship and influential master figure to help represent ORC lawmen in more than a PC context.
  • Image Credit: Guardians of the Galaxy 2
  • Role: Commander of the Verdict and respected rogue master friendly to the Outer Rim Coalition.
  • Links: /
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
  • Age: 70
  • Force Sensitivity: Master
  • Species: Human/Epicanthix
  • Appearance: Nearly two meters of solid granite in the form of an armored humanoid. Rex looks more like an outer rim warlord than some backwater scavenger. Two sawed off scatterguns dangle from his hip which he wields one handed. Strapped across his chest is a bandolier with spare shells and the hilt of a forest green broadsaber. The marshal's face is pock marked with age but if his years weigh on him there is no outward sign of it. A controlled ferocity burns just as brightly in his eyes as they did when he was exiled from his order. Thick warplate adorns his oversized frame.
SOCIAL INFORMATION

[*]Personality: Unlike many of the Judges Rex tends to vary from humorless to outright hostile. He was shunned by the Jedi for his uncontrollable anger. Considering this an asset he was accepted by his fellow outer rim exiles even if they may disagree with some abilities and methods he employs that the Jedi might consider...unnatural. Despite these apparent flaws Marshal Tyrosus has worked with the Underground for years and never given any signs of deviation from his stern convictions about freedom, justice, and the rule of law. He is considered one of the most influential lawmen in the territories, second in respect only to Grand Marshal Fyre.
COMBAT INFORMATION
  • Weapon of Choice: Sawed Off Scatterblasters, Greatsaber
  • Combat Function: Marshal Tyrosus is a fleet tactician and challenging Force Master opponent. He specializes in martial combat and relies on the Force to enhance his already natural prowess. Using his larger than average frame to dual wield scatterblasters in close quarters battle Rex is not to be trifled with, however his true skill lies on the bridge of a capital ship.
STRENGTHS
  • Focused Aggression: Walking a fine line between light and dark, instead of letting his anger go Rex embraces it. He channels that fervor into a heightened sense of focus and awareness. Trained by the Jedi, he is a master of the dangerous vaapad form and taps into forbidden powers when his need is dire.
  • Heavy Metal: Rex is a fearsome warrior but most of his battles are conducted relaying orders from the Verdict or on surface missions from a repulsortank's turret.
WEAKNESSES
  • Recklessness: Marshal Tyrosus has little patience and is about as closed minded as it gets. He is no fool but can some times get so caught up in battle frenzy that he forgets to look at the whole battlefield.
  • Endless Rage: Although he displays a stunning level of self control all that rage is just simmering underneath the surface. That Rex is emotionally unstable is a polite way of putting it. Such strong emotions are easily manipulated by a cunning foe.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Rex was just a young farm hand from Andelm IV when he was kidnapped by Karazak slavers and sold to the fighting pits on Nar Shaddaa. When he was eventually discovered and rescued by a wandering Jedi Knight his potential was recognized but the experience left him irrevocably changed. Despite early warning signs he was taken on as a padawan by a progressive master of the Jedi Order. The young man served his Republic for years before the unthinkable changed everything.

They were initiating first contact with a newly discovered lost colony when tragedy struck. A mistaken translation incited the natives who brought primitive weapons to bear en masse, killing Rex's master after his defenses became overwhelmed. Unable to control his rage any longer, the padawan slew every planetary representative in attendance and many of their guards. To this day the colony world continues to shun all contact with the wider galaxy and consider Jedi to be evil. Tyrosus was ultimately excommunicated from the Jedi Order when he refused to express remorse for his actions.

Returning to his homeworld he lived in exile for years more before he was drawn into a conflict between slavers and a group of Wardens, those that would number among the first of the Judges in days to come. Finding that he missed the thrill of battle too much to resume his hermit's existence he joined up with the Underground on their campaign of liberation against petty tyrants all across the rim. In those early days then Sheriff Tyrosus found that he had a natural gift for commanding space battles. With his commandeered Boneshatter patrol frigate for a time he was a thorn in the side of despot and pirate clan alike.

Then the day came when he was chosen to take command of the Verdict, for all intents and purposes Judge flagship. While its crew is almost entirely local militia several of the battlecruiser's senior officers are fanatical sheriffs that Marshal Tyrosus personally trained himself. Most recently he and his crew took command at the Battle of Pantora and while their vessel sustained heavy damage it is rumored to still be out there somewhere. Rex takes very little interest in most planetary affairs, only hunting to ground those who managed to escape him in the void of space.

SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Multiple Fire Modes (Single Shot/Charged Burst)
  • Dimensions Adjust to the Wielder's Grip
  • Sensor Scattering Properties
STRENGTHS
  • Force Cannon: The Peacemaker's method of action relies on force imbued particles focused through a kyber crystal. These blasts are comparable to a high powered energy bolt and are particularly effective against psychic barriers.
  • Living Weapon: While not exactly alive the kyber crystal within is imprinted upon its master. Its outer casing and fire mode can be changed with a thought via psychic connection.
WEAKNESSES
  • Power Drain: Instead of drawing from a power cell the blaster relies on pure mental energy. As a consequence it can only be fired so many times before exhaustion and is more difficult to fire when stunned or wounded.
  • Gun Fever: Lightsabers are a weapon of peace, but this is a weapon of war. It wants to be used. With every shot the temptation to keep pulling its trigger grows stronger.
DESCRIPTION

Don't ask how he made it, cause Zak sure doesn't know.

Peacemaker is one of a kind. When the Sheriff of Terminus stumbled across an ancient cache of Force artifacts on one of his tomb raids, he unwittingly activated a relic which effectively downloaded the instructions for its creation into the Judge's mind. Compelled to fulfill the relic's apparent purpose lest its knowledge slowly drive him mad with its insistence, the result was a force imbued energy pistol of some unknown origin. As soon as it was complete the compulsion faded and along with it any knowledge of how the weapon actually works.

It seems strange that an aeons old datacron would contain schematics for something as modern as a blaster. Zak's more intelligent acquaintances have theorized that the instructions for what type of weapon would be produced were generalized and the Sheriff's unconscious mind selected a gun. Early tests of the weapon met with...mixed results but over time he learned how to properly focus his will through the crystal within.

Just like a lightsaber, the force cannon is attuned to Judge Amroth. It works best in his hands and he can sense it from far away. Blue bolts not generated by tibanna but no less deadly are summoned at will, with the option for a more powerful charged blast that penetrates heavier armor. As a bonus it doesn't set off most weapon sensors.

SETTING INFORMATION

[*]Accessibility: A-51 is both hidden and well guarded. Only those with ORION security access are even made aware of its existence and each shipment is personally authorized by the Powers That Be. One of the Underground's most closely guarded secrets, even their closest allies have not been told of this forbidden treasure trove.
[*]Traffic: Low
[*]Description: Some things are just too dangerous even to destroy. With each toppled Sith Lord or Palpatine worshiper the Underground found itself forced to curate a wider range of Force artifacts ranging from deadly to incomprehensible. The Panopticon is an Underground black site and research outpost with a broad mandate that covers everything from relic containment to netherworld analysis. Extraordinarily strict safety protocols are required to even maintain basic operations and any knowledge of its existence is reserved only for the highest levels of Coalition oversight.
POINTS OF INTEREST
  • A-51: The Panopticon asteroid's alphanumeric designation, in every outward respect it is no different than any of a thousand other rocks floating near Polis Massa. Appearances can be deceiving however. A-51 is a veritable space fortress, each precaution taken to shield from both without and within.
  • Firebreak: Just beyond the hangar bay a thick layer of shadowcrete surrounds the station interior, deadening its presence in the Force. Security checkpoints must be passed through on both sides at the few engineered gaps in the protective layer. These firebreak vaults never stay open for long.
  • The Institute: Officially the Institute does not exist. Unofficially this subdivision of Polis Massa's Archaeological Research Council works for the Underground cataloguing and safeguarding any relics deemed too dangerous for study or which must be kept secret from the Sith at all costs. Most of the staff is kallidahin, but outside experts are often brought in to study new finds and for periodic security evaluations.
  • Artifact Containment: The bulk of the asteroid's hollow internal structure is reserved for artifact storage and containment. Thousands of relics with dangerous but inert properties are kept in a massive warehouse while more specialized containment procedures are devised for the rare artifacts which remain intermittently active.
SECURITY
  • Rating: Maximum
Much of the Panopticon's security relies upon its complete secrecy even from the wider Coalition. Even its guards don't know exactly what they are protecting, only a few Partisan veterans understand A-51's true purpose. Nevertheless a large defense grid of satellites camouflaged on smaller nearby asteroids ensures that any trespassers would pay for their curiosity.

The asteroid itself is rigged with a redundant self-destruct system that can be triggered by senior personnel with as little as a few seconds notice. If at any point the installation is deemed at risk, those in charge have orders to activate this system with extreme prejudice.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Over the years the Underground has acquired many strange and powerful artifacts. Some of these too dangerous even to be destroyed, for others it is simply an impossibility. Yet there are things which should not be allowed to exist. If all other attempts at containment have failed the artifact in question is quietly intercepted and loaded onto a stealth transport bound for asteroid A-51.

For all intents and purposes A-51 does not officially exist. Its location is one of the Underground's most closely guarded secrets, second to the facility's true purpose. The Panopticon is a prison where some of the most dangerous devices conceived by sentient beings are monitored and studied at all times. True to its name the artifact containment facility is a massive rotunda isolated from the outside world by thick slabs of shadowcrete, also called demon's dirt. It is a rare mineral found in the region known for its durability but more importantly it deadens the Force in close proximity.

Beyond the Panopticon's central observation post is the Institution, living and research facilities safely isolated from the containment section by more shadowcrete. The vast majority of the staff is kallidahin, and while a select few Jedi often visit and consult no sensitives live full time on A-51 because of the intense discomfort. While most of the research conducted by the Institute is artifact related, there is also a wing that the Underground uses for netherworld experiments.

  • Armaments: High
    1x Beam Cannon Turret
  • 3x Heavy Laser Cannon

[*]Defenses: Very High

[*]Passenger Capacity: None
[*]Cargo Capacity: Very Small
SPECIAL FEATURES
STRENGTHS
  • Light Assault: More compact than a typical combat walker, the Ronin relies on a heavy beam cannon to punch above its weight and superior mobility for rapid engagement and withdrawal.
  • Pathfinder: Hover tanks are entirely powered by repulsorlift engines and immune to most terrain difficulties that other walker-based models would struggle to traverse.
WEAKNESSES
  • EMP/Ion: Because the Ronin requires constant power for both its engines and weapon systems to function, successful ion attacks are particularly devastating to the craft. If enough shots penetrate the tank loses both its offensive armament and mobility.
  • Vulnerable Underbelly: While the hover tank's outer shell is protected by think layers of reinforced durasteel plating which can stand up to everything but heavy ordnance, its surface side is thinly protected so it won't interfere with the engine systems.
DESCRIPTION

The Ronin light assault tank is a combat vehicle designed for use by various local planetary guards that make up the bulk of the Outer Rim Coalition's standing forces. Embracing a fast attack doctrine which plays against their enemies' weaknesses, the hover tank is repulsorlift powered and equipped with a side mounted beam cannon turret as well as three heavy cannons on the fore. Under ideal circumstances it is operated by a driver, a bow gunner, a main gunner, and navigator/commander.

Rebel armor has a reputation for its ramshackle quality and in this respect SoroSuub doesn't disappoint. Ronins are meant to be cheap and effective, eschewing aesthetics for function at every corner. Its interior is cramped and spartan. They are easily transportable and magnetic clamps even allow for emergency airlifts. A combat hauler can relocate multiple Ronins at once, giving the tank unparalleled access to both remote and well defended conflict zones.

STRENGTHS
  • Scout Armor: Eschewing bulky combat plating for lighter yet durable fabrics, Partisan equipment prioritizes mobility and stealth. A flex-armor blast vest and plastoid helmet fend off some life threatening damage. Its main value however is how well it blends with all manner of environment.
  • Double Jump: Most Partisan troops receive a pair of standard issue rocket boots along with their kit for navigating vertical obstacles. These aren't meant for sustained flight but instead to rappel up walls or slow a descent.
WEAKNESSES
  • Limited Protection: A blast vest and helmet aren't warplate. Partisan troopers are particularly vulnerable in the extremities where their equipment offers very little protection at all.
  • Hard Vacuum: Meant for in atmosphere operations the basic kits have no thinsuit or EVA seal. Life support failure or exposure to space is fatal.
DESCRIPTION

While not an official part of the SoroSuub Corporation product line, company officials actively support ongoing efforts to scavenge old Galactic Alliance surplus material and use it to outfit militia forces and local planetary guards in dire need of basic equipment. Based on the old regime's scout armor, Partisan field kits are stripped down to their most essential components. Low tech, utilitarian, and highly effective for guerilla engagements.

The Partisan resistance movement is most known for their salvaged gear, thus bestowing the field kit with its colloquial name. Personal modifications both practical and otherwise are not uncommon. Militia fighters in particular have been known to stencil on starbirds of various design as well as anti-Imperial phrases. Field kits come in a variety of weather patterns including standards olive green and matte black.

STRENGTHS
  • Utility: The Firelance is lightweight, easy to assemble or repair, and reliable for its cost. All these qualities make it prized among bounty hunters, criminals, and rebel guerillas. It performs like a military rifle but feels like a carbine.
  • Effective Stun: Particularly among hunters and other 'freelance law enforcement', GLXs are known for their potent stun settings. Most targets will drop even if they're armored.
WEAKNESSES
  • Magazine Count: Firelances are power hungry and consume twice as much power as most standard blasters. A generic power cell is only good for up to fifty shots, and gas cartridges only hold two hundred fifty.
  • Bullpup: The GLX's power cell and cartridge are both behind the trigger. This makes the rifle more compact but somewhat awkward to reload.
DESCRIPTION

Originally marketed as 'the most effective weapon for freelance law enforcement officials', SoroSuub's GLX Firelance is a military blaster rifle in everything but name. One form or another of the Firelance has existed for hundreds of years. Each iteration has maintained the blaster's simple bullpup design and a heavy duty stun setting guaranteed to take down any tough guys. Most importantly the Firelance lacks any standard corporate or governmental markings which makes them effectively untraceable.

The GLX is a lightweight piece of equipment, often compared to carbines and ideal for lugging over difficult terrain. While not quite as popular as the A280 series of blasters, Firelances are a common sight in the Outer Rim. They are notably used by both the Sullustan Home Guard and Partisan guerillas.
