DESCRIPTION

The Z2 Servant Droid is the second model of droid in the Zenithar Series, and what an addition it is. Whereas the Z1 Assistant Droid is best used for handling advanced duties such as bookkeeping and secretarial work, the Z2 is best utilized for the more menial sort of basic servant labor.

The Z2 is designed for versatility and programmed for all manner of chores. Gardening, lawn care, cooking, cleaning, laundry, and waiting on tables are but a few of the duties a Z2 can take on. Once upon a time, the rich had to hire legions of clumsy organic servants to ensure the upkeep of their mansions. Now all they really need are a half-dozen Z2 Servant Droids. The Z2 is also programmed to be competent with basic first aid and child care, making them ideal as babysitters and for those elderly galactic citizens who live alone. A built-in sound dampener effectively mutes the droid’s repulsorlift, making it less likely to cause a disturbance if working in the nighttime.

Another unique facet of the Z2 is its usage of Neuro-Saav's "Everlast" nanobot coating over its internal components and machinery. This top-of-the-line nanotechnology reduces the need for constant maintenance of the droid, as was necessary in other servant droid models that see frequent and strenuous use. This doesn't completely eliminate the need to upkeep the droid, but it does reduce the cost and necessity of doing so significantly.

The Z2 is also programmed to be highly protective of its owner, willing to lay its “life” on the line in the event their owner comes under attack from just about anyone for any reason. Z2s are not combat droids, and so its attempts to dissuade attackers typically rely on cleverness and shock value rather than the strength of the droid. This should, at the very least, buy the owner some time to escape. Its J1 droid brain enables it to think creatively and compassionately, but this added intelligence can lead to the development of personality quirks if it goes for long periods of time without a memory wipe. The Z2 is able to hold most conversations and is fluent in the several most prominent Galactic Languages, but not nearly as many as the Z1.

Because of its innate intelligence and capability to understand sapients, the Z2 will usually be more reluctant to assist its owner if the owner frequently berates or mistreats the droid. While it will not become violent or even aggressive, a Z2 may opt to stay out of the way if a rather rude master comes under attack. It may also deign to watch passively while they suffer a heart attack as well. In the event it witnesses or survives the death of its master, Z2s have been noted to continue their upkeep of the residence as if nothing ever happened. Z2s that have not been memory-wiped will opt to leave the residence and wander aimlessly until retrieved.

Hegemonic Automaton is not responsible for the actions of Z2s that achieve sapience.
