• KING OF BEGGARS​
  
  Despite being a "King", Yusha did not grow up with a silver spoon in his mouth.
  
  The story of the thief begins with a soldier who loved beyond his station. Decades ago, a special forces group called Dreadguard operated within the Confederacy of Independent Systems. One of their midst - a clone called Maverick - found himself drawn to the daughter of their liege. Their relationship blossomed in secret, and would have continued to do so until the mutiny. The superiors of the Dreadguard butted heads with the Confederate leadership. The superiors wanted to aide other nations in their battles, while the leadership wanted to focus on the affairs of home. Neither side was intrinsically wrong - but their inability to agree saw the Dreadguard defect.
  
  This left Maverick a traitor - and ultimately spelled doom for their union. The end did not come without a legacy. For it was within these sordid circumstances that Yusha was born.
  
  His mother, terrified of returning to her family after birthing a traitor's child, fell off the grid. She found a home in the slums of the southern systems, raising Yusha in the harshest environments. Though she tried her best to instill good values, survival demanded that morality be thrown out the window. Yusha had to steal to survive. The streets became his classroom. Finding a new meal his assignments. As he grew into adulthood, Yusha desired more. He did not want to live as the nobles and wealthy that he preyed upon - for that made men lazy. That made men easy marks.
  
  But rather, he wanted to take survival to a new level.
  
  So it was that Yusha began to make theft an artform. The bigger the wealth, the bigger the target, and the bigger the payout. As the years rolled ever forward, he cultivated a network of conspirators. Ladies of the night. Beggars. Orphans. All those a rich man would ignore? They were his eyes and ears. And each time Yusha scored big, they would see a profit.
  
  Yusha became the King of Beggars: a monarch whose crown was larceny and whose kingdom was the shadows.
